1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Qt Bitcoin Trader [OpenSource trading client for Mac/Windows/Linux] on: November 10, 2013, 09:58:37 PM
Not sure if this is just me, since I cant find anyone else post this issue I am assuming so:

I am using v1.07.94 [BETA], everything seems to work fine except for My Orders Log, and Last Trades which are blank. They work for your last stable release v1.07.01, just not 94

I'm on MTGOX trading in BTC/AUD.

Any help is appreciated, and thank you for such a great bit of open software!
2  Economy / Goods / Re: Credit card shaped 16GB USB sticks with engraved Bitcoin logo (Batch 2) on: June 08, 2013, 04:36:44 PM
Someone trying to sell this as a bitcoin miner @ 5 times the price in 5...4...3..2..1.
Tongue:P

Someone is already selling a cheap Chinese card pen drive with bitcoin logo for 20 pounds..right OP? Grin

Real cost of this pendrive without logo is 10-12$ maximum.

These are manufactured in the UK. They are higher quality then the Chinese ones and come with much better support and warranty. If you want to buy something that is cheap and will break within a month then Alibaba.com is your friend.

As a member who has experience in dealing with PCBA/COB/UDP and other integrated NAND orientated memory devices I initially came here to defend OP in saying his costs were reasonable however slandering Chinese made products is not something I approve of. A have dealt with quality testing from both local and "Chinese" products and whether or not your card was assembled in the UK or not 9/10 the actual components (i.e the actual memory chips) are always made in China. Just because something is Chinese doesn't mean it's cheap and shit, sites like Alibaba and Aliexpress offer (in the interest of full disclosure) shit products to top of the line products it all comes down to what you are willing to pay for. Since the card is often used as a promotional item or for actual consumer sale it is quite cheap to obtain, the real expense here is the actual memory component, for 16GB i'd say OP is making anywhere from 1/2 to 2/3 profit, depending on the volume ordered.
3  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Exchange For Australians? (NOT MTGOX *Offensive Derogatory Word Here*) on: April 22, 2013, 09:29:46 AM
Thanks for the reply, yea I found both of those but bitpiggy always says they have not funds, and I'm not sure how I feel about an 8% commission with bitinnovate. Thanks anyway, I think I'm just going to miss the whole bitcoin boat on this one MTGOX has already stolen enough of my money and my time and I'm not sure if it's worth this headache anymore.

They are used quite frequently on Reddit trades, but I have never used them myself
5  Economy / Marketplace / Exchange For Australians? (NOT MTGOX *Offensive Derogatory Word Here*) on: April 22, 2013, 07:53:14 AM
Does anyone here know an exchange that is good for us Australians? Anyone that I have seen either have fixed price exchanges, ridiculous commision rates, or they are just the complete WORST bunch of aholes to deal with (MTGOX). Long story short mtgox have been screwing around with my account and my AML process for over a month and I have started to wonder to myself why am I trying too hard to give them my business? So I plead to any other Australians to recommend me a place to start new transfers because if I have to deal with these people anymore just go get my damn money back I think I might shoot myself.

Yea I've noticed that, why is Bitcoin so popular here? Is it because our money already looks like it could potentially be a paper version of bitcoin money? Tongue....well plastic?

PS. Anyone here follow that bitcoin group of Facebook? I saw something about it awhile ago and saw they had a meet up, I would love to talk to other miners in person but I don't have Facebook, does anyone know if there will be another meet up?

Hello, I have been lurking for awhile and following bitcoin intensely, according to the first post if I am able to provide enough evidence I have a general understanding of bitcoin which is greater then the average newbie I would be able to be let out of here early. Although I am still newish I would hope I'm not Newbie worthy

My Applicable Knowledge:
I under stand that bitcoin is a p2p based online currency, I have a general understanding on how mining works and the trade off miners spend of electricity to find "blocks".

I understand how the difficulty level is influenced by the amount of bitcoins released and the computational power of miners in the "mine"

I am a Masters Student at Monash Australia majoring in Security so I have a general knowledge of crypto systems (specifically public-key authentication) which has aided me in understanding block-chain mining and the utilization of SHA hashes to do so.

I have used several different miners on my system for both windows and Ubuntu however the lack of power has prompted me to invest in 3 BFL Jalapeno's, a decision which I am think I might regret after reading about BTCFPGA's price drop...and I seriously hope BFL pulls through

I'm not signing up to ask questions right now as most of my questions have been answered through the search bar/google however it would be nice to talk to the general community and not just newbie land...no offence.
