I have been using phoenix miner for months now and get an average of 1 or 2 invalid shares/day. I just recently switched over to cgminer and am now getting about 15-20 invalid shares per day, one day I got 50. Im mining with 50btc, and they use a stratum server to apparently cut down on invalid shares. Im mining at 795mhs, 11.12 driver, 2.1 sdk, my cgminer flags are:
-I 9 -k phatk -w 256 -v 2 -I 9 -g 4
does anyone have any suggestions?
adding to this, I switched to cgminer because everyone was telling me that it is the best and much better than phoenix miner. well I have been using it for about a week now (version 2.11.3) and I am actually getting the same hashrate as phoenix, just with more invalids. I have played around with a few settings but havent gotten much improvement. does anyone know of some optimal settings for a hd 5970? I am using 11.12 driver which I cannot change as it is the only one not giving me the 100% cpu bug. I am also using sdk 2.1. At 850mhz, 325 mem I am getting 795 mhs and that is the max I can get. Is this a good speed, or does anyone have some suggestions for improvement? thanks.

I have noticed that my mining pool (50btc) are now offering the option of selecting share difficulty. A higher difficulty share pays more, but takes longer to generate, so what is the advantages if any of selecting a higher share difficulty? I am mining in pps. thanks

my pool is 50btc, i am located in the us.
it is a dedicated miner with no background tasks
how do i tell if it is sha256 or scrypt?
everything is plugged in correctly

Hi, this may seem stupid, but I can't find the download location for cgminer version 2.10 for windows 7 64 bit. When I get to this link: http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/2.10/it is hard to tell which download is the right one, so if someone could please advise me it would be very appreciated thank you.

I am mining with a hd 5970, catalyst 11.12, sdk 2.1 and phoenix 1.7.5 on win 7 64 bit. Generally my gpu usage for both gpus is maxed out at 99%, but occasionally it will drop to 75% or something for a moment and then bounce back up. core clock is 850mhz, mem is 310 mhz, my psu is kingwin lazer 550w platinum (I know its not psu related, because even with a 750w antec bronze psu these flareups still happened). The temps are fine at about 50C for both gpus, so I was wondering does anyone know why this happens, what it means and how to fix it?
thanks for the help.

I am mining on a hd 5970, 11.10 and sdk 2.1 and am using win xp, and am thinking about upgrading to win 7. My machine is a dedicated miner, so the only reason I would make this upgrade is if win 7 gets me better hashes somehow. So is there some advantage of mining on win 7 over win xp?
thanks.

I hear people always saying that cgminer is better than phoenix miner. I currently use phoenix miner and am happy with it, and was wondering if anyone could state in specifics what exactly makes cgminer better. I know that cgminer has all the controls integrated into it, but I am able to control those features using afterburner and oc guru, so that doesnt matter to me. Also, I mine with a 5970, 11.10 drivers 2.1 sdk and this link shows all the best results with phoenix miner: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison#AMD_.28ATI.29So just in terms of hash rates and other mining factors, which miner and better and why? thanks for the help.

I am using ccc 11.10 and sdk 2.1. General arguments are:
-k phatk2 AGGRESSION=13 WORKSIZE=256 BFI_INT VECTORS fastloops=false
Im going to give cgminer a try. Out of curiosity what exactly makes it better than phoenix miner?

I have a gpu mining setup of a 5970. /i am using phoenix miner (latest version) and get around 790mhs. I use a core i7 3770, quad core at 3.4ghz. However I recently deactivated 3 of the cores so Im running off 1 core and I downclocked the cpu to 1.6ghz to save power. I know that I am using my gpu for mining, but for some reason my cpu is always at 50% usage when mining, regardless of cores active or clockspeed. Now mining with the 1 active core at 1.6ghz I am averaging around 720mhs according to my pool, even though phoenix miner still reports the exact same hash rate as with all cores active. These results have been consistent over several days now, and there are no other variables, so I know that the cpu speed/cores is affecting my mining speed. I was wondering does anyone know why this is, or have the same problem?

I am not using guiminer anymore so I couldn't help you specifically, but I can offer an alternative solution which could be beneficial in the end and after about 5 mins have you up and running with phoenix miner making more mh/s than guiminer can. I have spent alot of time finding the best settings for me for phoenix miner, so if you want I can give them to you, simply download and install phoenix miner, enter the command lines and you will probably be getting much better mh/s, not to mention that phoenix hasn't had any connection issues for me ever using deepbit, slush and 50btc. Let me know if you're interested.

I mine for 50btc and have been keeping an eye on the pool speed. In about a week it has gone from 3600ghs to over 4000 just today. Does anyone have any theories about whats causing this? I personally think that it is from bfl testing their asics. Btw I checked deepbit and they are only at 3647ghs, so I guess 50btc is the new #1.
