El planteamiento inicial de Bitcoin era y sigue siendo como descentralizado, pero desde 2009 hasta hoy las cosas han cambiado mucho, para bien y para mal, pero todo en un conjunto nos a llevado hasta donde estamos, nadie en el inicio de Bitcoin pensaría que habrian plataformas como Bitmex o intercambios en muchos países para su negociación y/o especulación.
Cuando sea aun mas popular y con las diferentes evoluciones de escalado como LN o mas que vendrán, la centralización, o como dice DdmrDdmr la concentración sera inevitable, pero si consiguen mantener el tamaño de bloque y la posibilidad de ejecutar un nodo completo en cualquier pc domestico de tu casa, la idea de descentralizado, prevalecerá, aunque tu contribución a la red sea ínfima y sirva de poco para decidir.
Actualmente si quieres ejecutar un Nodo Completo y contribuir a la red de Bitcoin necesitas +/- 200Gb de espacio en tu disco duro con el tamaño de bloque de Bitcoin (BTC), cualquier imitación de Bitcoin con sus bloques mas y mucho mas grandes en unos años seria complicado ejecutar el nodo a modo particular, este es el primer paso para la centralización, excluirte de la red por no poder usar tu nodo.
Ya estamos cerca del próximo halving y la reducción por bloque de Bitcoins extraídos pasara de 12,5 a 6,25, faltan muchos años para extraer el último Bitcoin, pero entonces solo quedara validar las transacciones y si hay adopción en todos los niveles incluido el institucional, estarán repartidos por todo el mundo centros de datos (concentración) trabajando, validando y cobrando las tarifas por su trabajo.
Si quieres ejecutar un nodo completo no necesitas almacenar la cadena completa, el problema principal nunca ha sido el almacenamiento, el ancho de banda y la capacidad de procesamiento para validar son las limitaciones más importantes a la hora de aumentar el tamaño del bloque. Un nodo completo asegura a su operador que lo que recibe es efectivamente bitcoin, que se cumplen las reglas de consenso. Cada uno decidimos que reglas seguir. 1 año para el próximo halving. Siempre se han validado las tx, cuando se emitian 50BTC/bloque también. No veo el sentido a tu último párrafo, cada nodo valida todas las tx y los bloques que recibe. |

...Claro en eso concuerdo sin embargo cuestiono el si se sabe la razon por la cual BCH existe?...
BCH existe por la naturaleza descentralizada de las monedas, nació por que la propuesta era buena pero no todos estaban de acuerdo, los que no estaban de acuerdo abandonaron el proyecto, pero los que si estaban de acuerdo siguieron en este creando una bifurcación tanto en el código así como en el equipo de desarrolladores. BCH existe porque Jihan tenía que explotar AsicBoost. |

El punto esta en mis primeras dos publicaciones de este hilo, si realmente es descentralizado por que los fees llegaron a 37 dolares, esa fue una estrategia de los mineros con la cual pudieron manipular los fees por transaccion y algo asi no debería de pasar en un proyecto descentralizado.
¿por qué no? Las comisiones pagan el espacio en el bloque y son la razón de la resistencia a la censura de Bitcoin, los mineros lógicamente incluirán en el bloque aquellas con mayor comisión. Cuanta más demanda de espacio mayores comisiones, ¿qué tiene que ver con la descentralización? Otro ejemplo es cuando tuvimos el fork de BCH este fork se creó por que alguien propuso bloques mas grandes pero un grupo de oposición no lo aprobó, una buena idea echada para atrás en un proyecto descentralizado, suena a que alguien esta tomando las decisiones.
Desde un principio nos han dicho que BTC es descentralizado, pero yo soy de esas personas que se cuestionan todo.
¿Hablas de segwit y NYA2x, un grupo de personas decidiendo y programando (mal programado por cierto) un aumento a 2 MB del tamaño del bloque? Cada usuario con su nodo decidió que reglas de consenso seguir. Es así de sencillo, al final es el operador del nodo el que toma la decisión de forzar unas u otras reglas de consenso. NYA2x fue un ataque a Bitcoin. |

Yo si entiendo por descentralización que no haya un único punto de fallo, es decir, si lo hay estamos hablando de un proyecto centralizado.
Bitcoin es descentralizado, teniendo esto claro podemos entrar a valorar el grado de descentralización de sus diferentes partes.
El tema del título es "Realmente bitcoin es Descentralizado?" la respuesta es si.

No entiendo la de vueltas que se dan a este punto. Bitcoin es descentralizado. No hay un punto único de fallo. Si alguno cree que no es así que nombre ese punto de centralización.

I have a Bitcoin full node + lightning node running stable on a Raspberry Pi3. BTC blockchain is stored in an external usb drive, swap in a pendrive. Everything works fine.
Which LN node are you using? the C-lightning, the lnd or which one? The external USB drive you use to store the blockchain is an HDD with a USB connections to the PI? What is the size of the swap pendrive? Could you please share the link you were using while you were working on the installation of the node? Sorry for the lots of questions  Hi, i'm using c-lightning. I use the external pendrive for swap (2GB) and the external hard disk (500GB) to store Bitcoin data. SD with 200 GB available... used from ebay... From shop, it would cost about $200, you can buy a decent USB HDD from this price and it would not have only 256 GB space but much more.
Anyway, how much space is needed to host a full node? I'm thinking about the same, using a Raspberry PI to run a full bitcoin node and I'm thinking about what size of USB HDD I need to buy.
Does SD card is a possible solution for storage, when running a node on PI? I mean the OS is writing on the swap partition continously, so SD can reach it's write limit in no time and after you can just trash your SD?
SD and SSD technologies are fairly similar in the way thy function and people run core on SSDs. Even though they're obviously more stable, they're still flash storage. @OP, what does the SD card say on it? What brand it is, what size? The only FLASH producer I'd trust personally is Kingston (Samsung, Sony and Sandisk are alright also but not as good). Bitart, Kingston and Sandisk definitely go up to 256 gb micro sd cards (not entirely sure whether a raspberry pi is capable of supporting that in such a small and dense storage medium but...) I've been considering using a raspberry pi also for the same operation but I always got my dependencies wrong and never had enough time to go back and correct myself from all the problems to reinstall everything. Thanks for the advice. I won't think that the Raspberry Pi is able to handle the 256 Gb SD card... My concern is the read/write cycles of the SD card, still. Or, I only need to move the swap partition to the HDD and it will solve the read/write cycle problem. Anyway, as soon as I'll have a working system (hopefully sometime this year ) I'll make a backup copy of the SD, just in case.... I had my refund this week. They sent me a mail, I have had to sign the bitcoin address y paid from saying that after the refund I have nothing to claim from BA nor them from me.
In the mail also they say that they have had problems changing dollars to bitcoin and they only refund the bitcoins I paid minus $50 fee. So I received 9,0.... bitcoin.
In the mail says that If you don't accept this conditions, the order will go on.
I accepted it, I lost more than $2000 in this, but it's better than wait for a unprofitable machine.
Sigh... so let me get this straight, they refund you lesser amounts of bitcoin than what you paid for (in USD). I wonder if the tables were turned around and the BTC price was higher, would they still be refunding you the same amount of in BTC  We all know the answer to that question. |
