1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your biggest bitcoin-buy/sell fuckups - Therapy by writing & reading :) on: November 17, 2013, 08:25:43 PM
I bought 7 BTC for £50. I then lost all of that on btcjam.

Just recently sold 3 BTC when we were at ~£80 each. The good thing was I withdrew it from coinlenders and sold. Bad thing is we are now at £300. Still at least I got out before inputs/coinlenders got hacked.

Now I just buy a small amount each day and won't sell unless I absolutely need to. I plan on holding for at least a year until I need to pay off my car.

How long do I have to wait for a secured loan to pay out?

Would it be possible to lock down all withdrawals similar how we can lock withdrawals to a specified address? I'm just thinking it would be nice to have in the unlikely event that someone was able to gain access to both my wallet and my coinlenders account. Also provides protection while I'm in the process of changing my locked withdrawal address to something else.

Who pays the judge.me fees?  I believe it is $298

The fees are paid by BTCJam.

What determines what gets passed to judge.me? Would it have to be above a certain amount? Do you recover any of the fees from anything recovered through arbitration?

I'm hoping this will make a big dent in the amount of scammers on this site.

How do I put a loan up for judgment? As I have a load of missed payments on loans I made.

Phil

I don't think you can do this on past loans. It only applies to loans created from now onwards.

I bought 7BTC for £50. I then lost about 6 of that on btcjam. Had I just held on to them they would be worth about £800-900.

May I ask what the % of loans are that are overdue? I suspect it will give a very different picture than just % of payments that are overdue.

Hi

Came here from BTCjam. I go by the same username there. I just dabble in investing for fun at the moment. Lost out to a few scammers already.

What is the best way currently to convert bitcoins to GBP?

I've had good success using Barclays Pingit and blockchain for buying my bitcoins but unsure what to use to get them back.

I would go with Intersango but its invite only.
