Drugs should be made legal , probably then goverment will gain taxes instead of losing money fighting against it Smiley

I guess you are saying this by comparing drugs with alcohol consumption. Drugs is completely different from it. It's addiction will definitely ruin one's life. So, Governments will never legalize it.

alcohol is a drug. it depends on the drugs we're talking about. The high addiction ones should never be legalized indeed
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: A new panic wave is growing. on: January 29, 2016, 07:07:41 AM
If this goes on we'll be on a crisis, perhaps we'll even see new record lows.

a crisis is also a very good opportunity to buy and a new cycle will begin again..

6  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN going up or down on: January 25, 2016, 07:31:41 AM
Bitcoin is going up and down all the time, but the consensus is that it's due to increase in value this year.
I vote for going up, like the grand majority of the users here. How high? will see

12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why things are so complicated on: January 02, 2016, 08:35:47 AM
if you think about it's the same for fiat, why many different fiat currency, why many different wallet, see them as why many different payment processor, skrill, paypal etc...

the benefit of bitcoin is the security and the low cost, the transaction don't take longer than with fiat, fiat actually take much longer to confirm, but since everyone use it, they basically agree to accept it without confirmation

ponzi and theft are present in fiat world too, so no difference...

Very well said! Understanding how fiat works beyond the simple transactions performed everyday (the internal mechanics and even worse the policies applied by central banks) is something that is not remotely understood by the large majority of people using fiat. Me included  Smiley

15  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: January 01, 2016, 03:52:12 PM
diversification is the way to go. It shouldn't be Bitcoin or Gold, much better to go Bitcoin and Gold.
In the event of a global fiat collapse everyone will recognize gold/silver as a value holder.
They are hard to store though and a lot less liquid then Bitcoin like currency.

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many bitcoins do you have to sell to make a living? on: January 01, 2016, 11:14:42 AM
Is it even possible to make a living by selling bitcoins?
i think it really possible but the questions is how much bitcoin would you need to make a living

Depends a lot on what you define as "a living".

Some folks live comfortably on under $1000/month, some seem to think they "NEED" $5000+ to live on.

"decent" is a variable concept and the cost of "decent" varies widely depending largely on where you live.
"decent" in most of Iowa is easy to achieve on $2000/month, but in Manhattan you're probably paying more than that in rent alone for a "decent" place.

True. It's a very subjective matter and it's deeply connected with the standard of living and culture of the place when you live.
It's useful to take the time and compute the amount of money needed to satisfy the basic necessitates of life, the amount needed for living decently and amount needed to living luxuriously according to your own needs.

Those will vary from person to person.
For me basics can be covered with 800$/month so approx 2 bitcoins
decently would be 1200$/month approx 3 bitcoins
and double that for luxuries - 6 bitcoins

19  Other / Off-topic / Re: Watch movies with popcorn time! on: January 01, 2016, 09:29:13 AM
The source of some if not all popcorn time movies (YTS/YIFY) comes back to life with a new website.

https://yts.ag/

Thanks a lot for this info. I used to open popcorn time and set it up so it does not delete the movies when to closed to get them offline.
Much easier this way. :-)
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: January 01, 2016, 08:45:37 AM
Played League of Legends for a while. Very nice about it is that you can play a match and be done with it.
Also discovered Supreme Commander. Addictive game but it takes to much of my time. Stopped playing because of that
