1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any o ther way to get cash on mtgox to paypal? Bitinstant down on: June 12, 2013, 09:46:50 PM
Try it on our old site:
https://old.bitinstant.com

Unfortuately, https://old.bitinstant.com gives this SSL error in Firefox:

"old.bitinstant.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for the following names:
  www.bitinstant.com , bitinstant.com

(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)"
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WordPress.com accepts Bitcoins on: November 16, 2012, 02:13:52 AM
It's refreshing to have a big, prominent company coming out and supporting Bitcoin. It does a lot of good to have something to contrast with SR. Especially when WordPress.com goes sout of its way to point out the quasi-censorious nature of PayPal.
3  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Austin, TX on: November 16, 2012, 12:32:37 AM
I'm not going to make it to SA tonight, but count me in for any Austin bitcoin meetups. I'm still relatively new to bitcoin, but I'm excited to learn more.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What did you do with you first Bitcoin? on: November 01, 2012, 03:26:44 AM
Still working on acquiring my first bitcoin...but I suspect that when I get it, I'll save it. Smiley
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is Bitcoin.org claiming to be the official site of Bitcoin? on: November 01, 2012, 03:25:05 AM
The site also has a tab toward the top called "Clients", so I think they are being balanced in trying to communicate that there is 1 bitcoin system, but many client implementations.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Magazine in ebook format? on: October 30, 2012, 06:33:24 PM
I'd love to subscribe to the magazine in an ebook format. I'd subscribe on day 1.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Humble Indie Bundle - Purchasing with Bitcoin? on: October 30, 2012, 05:59:06 PM
I think bitcoin and HIB are a perfect match...except that they are in the business of helping game makers make a living, not in opening up new monetary trails. I would expect HIB to be one of the last groups to accept bitcoin, rather than one of the first.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any ideas for services? on: October 30, 2012, 05:56:45 PM
I would imagine that a service like Stripe, but for bitcoins, would be a big opportunity both for the creators of the service and for bitcoin. I know I'd be excited to look into such a service.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: October 30, 2012, 04:52:11 PM
My name is William and I live in Central Texas. I'm very interested in using bitcoins for buying and selling boring things, like tea and pizza. I haven't found anywhere I can do any transactions like that here, but I'm very happy to hear about places I've missed.

Looking forward to future discussions!
