1  Economy / Gambling / Re: UpDown.bt — Binary Options — BTC | Instant bets | Payouts in 60 sec. on: April 22, 2014, 02:47:32 AM
Heh, well my review was essentially "this is neat, but you took my coins, what's going on?", and "you should do these 6 things to make it better".

It has been 6 hours since they took those three bets I made and I haven't heard anything back, and they haven't sent me any funds back.  Not cool.

UPDATE: They did return my funds today, it took 12 hours to get it back, so not too bad.

I have been using your site for about a week now, and I like it.  Nice work.  I have a couple concerns though:

  • I like the security that comes with no user accounts, but the network transaction speed sometimes introduces a significant delay between when I want my bet to be placed and when it actually gets placed.  It is most irritating when this happens.
  • I keep running out of spendable BTC because it takes so long for my winnings to come back to my wallet, your txs take forever to get confirmed.  If you had accounts then I wouldn't have to wait and I would be able to place more bets in a day.
  • It would be nice if your site would show me stats about how I'm doing.  Again, if you had user accounts then you could do this.
  • You have no email/support information on your site.
  • I'd like to see a countdown timer that shows how long until each bet is closed.
  • I'd like to know where your price feeds come so I can see if you are manipulating them and screwing me over.

I had an issue today, the first one like this in the week I've been using your service, where I sent you three transfers of 0.3 BTC each but my bet never showed up and I never got anything back.  I did not win or lose, your system simply ate my BTC.  This is a very bad sign.  You have no contact info on your website anywhere so I am not able to contact you about this and find out where my 0.9 BTC went.  What happened to my coin?

I'll send you a PM to follow up on this missing coin.

UPDATE: They did return my funds today, it took 12 hours to get it back, so not too bad.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DUCK]DuckDuckCoin - Patched KGW - Trophy Coin 4 Hunters and Bird Watchers. on: March 21, 2014, 04:02:33 AM
The developer released a new wallet version just 9 days ago.  How many of the ~500 altcoins have had new wallets released in the last month?  Most coins haven't been touched in many months, but this one appears to me to be under active development.

I'm not sure how it is that you've come to the conclusion that the developer has bailed on this coin...

They are just giving us all more time to get in on DUCK before it takes off.  This team is so kind and generous!   Grin

But seriously guys, saying this @dev team, this coin's performance has been disappointing.  Where is all the hype and excitement and community adoption you promised?  I am still holding my DUCKs, and mining more, but I'm beginning to wonder if this investment is going to pay off.  I understand this coin is still very young, and I'm sure you guys are working hard on things behind the scenes, but we need to see some progress.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to keep investing in DUCK while it is cheap, but now I am ready to see my investment grow!

Hey, your rig called "EYRIG (SCRYPT 1.95 MH/S)" is down, can you fix it please?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gravity Kicks MultiPools in the A$$ on: February 10, 2014, 07:38:17 PM
There are several coins that are using this system now, it is definitely a step above the traditional difficulty adjustment mechanism.  I'm glad that DUCK has implemented this!  It will help this coin retain it's functionality while other coins get destroyed.

+1

This coin is interesting in that it has an established market cap before it evens launches.  I have invested a little in the IPO myself, I'd really like to see it listed on coinmarketcap.com so I can keep an eye on it's progress.
8  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Cex.io Fallout on: February 10, 2014, 12:42:35 AM
These ASICs are all going to come online soon and drive up the difficulty, and that will drive down the price of GHS.  I suggest everyone get out of GHS.
9  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: SHA 256 vs Scrypt on: February 09, 2014, 08:13:02 PM
SHA is ok if you get ASICs, but scrypt is much more profitable right now if you don't have ASICs.  CPU only coins might catch on though, and if they do, you might just want lots of CPUs Tongue
10  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What does the wallet.dat file do? on: February 09, 2014, 08:05:43 PM
Every address is like a door with a mail slot.  Anyone can drop coins in the slot from outside, but to get access to the coins that have been dropped in the slot you need the key to the door.  The wallet.dat file contains the key to the door.  If you lose that key you'll never be able to get the coins inside.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [DUCK] DuckDuckCoin - The Big Quack Happens In 1 Day on: February 09, 2014, 07:32:05 PM
Wow, 3 BTC gets me >1% of the total coin supply?  I'm in!

Hopefully there won't be many more investors before PMS ends, I want this to stay cheap  Grin
