1  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game on: January 29, 2017, 04:58:33 AM
Just e-mailed the same to support, but I just logged in after ~3 weeks and my account is missing ~77.4 bitcoins that were invested in the site bankroll. My password also did not work. I reset password, which did work immediately, and upon logging back in the account created date was accurate but the user name was changed and the "last active" shows "0000-00-00 00:00:00"

Please tell me I didn't get hacked/robbed for this sum of money...
If you make an investment, you should send your investment directly to a Bitcoin address of the company and not to your player account, waiting to forward your Bitcoins or however this work with satoshidice.

As soon as you sent your investment to satoshidice, they are responsible if your investment suddenly escape.  Wink

Their site is poorly ran and the odds have been altered. Anyone who plays from this point on deserves to lose their coins.

When people warn of exit scams with evidence i advise taking out while you can. Or end up like all the other chumps losing their coins. Be those people doesn't make any difference to me

I have resolved my situation with Satoshidice. I'm not going to into the details, but after getting in touch with me the SD support was completely transparent and fair about everything. Everything is fine on my end, and my trust in them is completely restored.

I am in contact with Satoshidice, and I still hope this gets resolved fairly.

I feel like right now is a real make or break moment for Satoshidice. They could refund the investors that were robbed, add 2FA and maybe work on a more fluid hot wallet, and be up there in contention for best dice site, not to mention the first. Or they could deny any responsibility for the robberies, never address the hot wallet, ignore everyone, get strongly branded as an outright scam, and fizzle out

I know which scenario I'm in favor of  Wink

We are continuously working to figure out what has happened regarding the reports of the missing bitcoins.

This is what has been found so far:
* As of yet, there is no evidence of the servers being compromised. Part of the work is to exclude that the accounts in question simply made a withdrawal and then stated that they didn't make the withdrawal.

* We got one report of a user who clicked a Bitcointalk phishing link, entered his information and then got his balance stolen on Satoshidice.

* We have seen attempts of password guessing on what appears to be big lists of emails. We do not store password in clear text in the database but we looked at real-time password attempts and there are several login attempts made with passwords such as "password" "sun" "god" "1234" ect. All those IP addresses are blocked and stored for future evidence.

* Please never use a simple or common password, or any password that you use on other websites.

* Please do not use the same email (and/or password) you use on Bitcointalk.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1611117.0

I'm glad there is finally some communication/information posted, thanks for that.

Was my account targeted by password guessing? My password wasn't anything common like the examples you gave, nor is it the same password as I have elsewhere. I also use different emails for this and Satishidice. And my email has 2FA.

Any comment on the hotwallet stuff? It seems pretty inconceivable that all this money was withdrawn in the 12/27 to 1/4 window while people on here were complaining about the inability to cash out small amounts.

I've been updating in the other thread, but want to keep both threads up to date on the situation.

After 15 days of silence, Randian Hero has PMd me simply "someone got your password" with zero details or evidence. To summarize the ridiculousness of this:

- Myself and (at least) 2 other high balance investors had our accounts emptied out in the Dec 27 - Jan 4 time frame.
- During this time, you can see multiple people complaining about the hot wallet being empty, and being unable to cashout small amounts, like <1BTC.
- Yet the stolen amount is around 150 BTC between the three accounts - first noticed on 1/4 - and the implication is that these funds are gone, which makes no sense given how hard it was for anyone to get even small amounts off the site during that period.
- Even if the 3 investors were coincidentally compromised at the same time, given that there's no way that much could have been taken off the site in that time frame, it would have been extremely easy for them to freeze 90-100% of the funds until they figured out what happened.
- There was no mention of any email being sent my address about withdrawal requests or password resets. Presumably both of these things would have happened under a normal 'hacking' scenario.

At this point it is very hard to imagine any explanation but that the site has robbed us. It's almost pointless to try and communicate with them, since their response to a large robbery to is literally to PM short sentences every 15 days, that contain no meaningful information, and ignore everything else.

Do he speak about your password in regards to your satoshidice account or in regards to your email account. Why do he not speak about passwords?

Because usually you would need to confirm withdrawals from your email account and you would have usually a different password like your satoshidice account.

He didn't say anything other than what I posted. He made no mention of how any of this could have occurred. He didn't tell me if my password was reset (which would have sent an email as well, of which there is no evidence of, nor evidence of an unknown login that could have deleted the reset email.) And yeah no mention of withdrawal protocols or anything.

All in all, no actual information, just an informal "haha we robbed you" as far as I can tell.

Just got a second short message out of Randian Hero, 15 days later:

"We have seen no signs of malicious activity. Sorry to tell you this, but it seems like someone got your password."

No word on how this coincidentally happened to two other high balance investors in the same period.

No word on how, in that very time period, this thread is full of people complaining about hot wallet problems, and being unable to cash-out <1BTC amounts, yet someone who "got my password" (and at least 2 others' passwords presumably,) is able to withdrawal >150 BTC with no problem?

The cash-out thing is really the most damning to them. Even if all of these account hacks weren't there fault, with their notoriously slow cash-out issues it would be beyond easy for them to prevent large cash-outs while they investigated these robberies; in fact one would think this "thief" would have a ton of difficulty cashing out even without preventative action on their part. Are we to believe that they "coincidentally" expedited the large cash-outs that happened to be account hacks?

He is not talking about that. I think he invested almost close to 100 BTC in the site, he didn't gamble with it.

What is going on with the site is very fishy like he mentioned before, some new players are winning over 600 BTC like that Underdog guy, Look at his stats.

I would be careful because this looks like another case of "Willy" bot like with Mt GOx. Basically he bets and losses but since he has unlimited income he can keep martingaling until he wins.

no one has unlimited income, unless you mean there's some exploit where he can bet any number no matter how high. Martingaling isn't a winning strategy even with 100 billion dollars.

what's really fishy about the site is they robbed me and at least 2 other high balance investors.

Amazing to see the top Dice site years ago turn into what it is today  Cry

I think the problem is that the new owner lacks some experience and motivation and drive. ANd I also think he owns a few different business ventures and just doesn't have the time to deal with the issues for this site.

Like I said before, he really needs to hire some support staff.

I mean it seems pretty clear at this point that he is stealing from high balance investors right? I don't see how hiring a support staff will fix anything unless these thefts are some grand technical glitches that are rectified.

Do we even know who the owner is? I'm hearing that ownership has changed hands a few times without any announcements.

And thanks Dean for confirming I'm a real person. I was a large investor in Betking and have been in BTC for a while, just not active on the forums... although I did post about a login issue with satoshi dice months ago.

And where was this option?

For the record I was purely invested for many months before this happened.

No updates to report, have heard nothing at all.

LIke I said before, this site really needs to hire additional personnel because the admin isn't a scammer but he obviously is very busy in his life to fix these simple issues.

As a headsup, the admin is still "looking into" the case of my account having ~78 btc balance taken from it. The info I have suggests it all happened on their end. Have had extremely minimal communication on the matter, so just want people to be aware that the way this shakes out will be very relevant to ascertaining the integrity of the site.
12  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satoshi Dice - Play Instant Bitcoin Dice & Invest in the Bankroll on: January 08, 2017, 04:35:11 AM
I'm filling up the hotwallet now and also we see that the fee increase worked fine and most withdrawals are accepted into the next block.

Besides one short PM two days ago w/ little information, I've received zero communication from Randian Hero or anyone from Satoshi Dice about being robbed for ~78 BTC. I hope this means they are busy conducting an internal investigation, but it's definitely starting to look bad on their end.

Yes, we are investigating this case.

Ok, would be nice to hear anything about that, even if it's when I can next expect to hear something. The total silence is kind of painful when I have 78 btc on the line. On my end, I've seen no evidence whatsoever of my email being compromised. No unknown devices logged in and no persons had access to my devices.

It seems very strange that between the 27th (the day my account was compromised) and 1st, 600btc was divested and emptied from the hot wallet, pictured here: (not sure why image isn't inserting into post)

Yes we have your history, please see the PM I sent you and let's communicate there.

I didn't see any PM, just sent you one.

also worth noting the balance on the landing page was 0.00041523BTC and I'm fairly certain (not 100%) that it was at 0 before, indicating someone divested all funds and cashed out almost everything? Can someone access my account's withdrawal history???

I am having the same problem. When I go to log in with the email/password combo (last time I logged in a few weeks ago I converted over from the old log in system), it just loops me to the main page, and I have no way to check on my invested coins.

Someone fix this please!
20  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game on: March 14, 2016, 06:52:17 PM
I am getting really concerned about this. I have over 100 coins tied up on SDice. I had a problem with not being able to log in, and started an e-mail correspondence with them 2 weeks ago. At first they replied (although not to PM here), and requested I sign a transaction, which I did one week ago. Since then, silence despite me sending multiple follow up emails.

I invested 2 weeks ago for the first time ever, would be really unlucky if after years without any real issues they picked this moment to abscond!  Undecided

They got in touch today and my issue is resolved. Whew!
