1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: up to 800GH/s on: March 04, 2014, 11:10:47 PM
HashFast: we are all very happy and excited for you that your new boards get 750GH.
However, we all are more excited to hear your answers to the following questions:

(questions that you have been ignoring for months)

1. When will Batch 2 finish shipping?
2. When will Batch 1 MPP start/finish shipping?
3. Are you going to honor your refund policies?
(see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493435.msg5514637#msg5514637)

Answering this should take no more than a few minutes of time and will reduce the amount of "offtopic" posts in this thread.

I've been mining for the last 10+ days stable@ 470 Gh/s  with the old firmware on a Ubunutu 13.10 on Laptop w/Cgminer 3.09h2 , just can't get 3.12.3 to run like it was intended until the FW is out ,as per Ckolivas advice.  So put the RPi for FW updates and that about it.
Indeed, it's really bugging me that the firmware is still lagging behind the driver that I wrote for it...  Undecided

Looks like HF-Engineer has been muzzled by his "libertarian superiors" from commenting further on these boards.  Also, looks like Scamfast will not release much anticipated firmware update due to the fact that they are going to "try" and get another product cycle out of 28nm golden nonce with an updated PCB motherboard and the updated firmware.  Shameless.  Looks like the marketing scumbags at scamfast are taking after US car manufacturers of the early 80's with planned obsolescence, designed to fail engineering forcing consumer to buy again prematurely.  Scumbags haven't even begun to ship sierra to any notable degree and are only shipping early batch 2, and yet they come out with "improved" Yoli board which does 2x the hashing of current boards.  I bet they already have these boards in house and ready to go but will not push them out with current orders because they are a bunch of greedy scumbags.  Scamfast is finished.  They have burned their goodwill with community.  No more.  Looks like they jettisoned John Skadronis(sp) head of marketing and VP.  Guess he wasn't willing to go along with their latest scam

who are you?  the forum police.  it is the place to discuss this as the thread u referred to is dead and dying, along with this one I might add since Phil the engineer was disappeared by CEO Eduardo.  Everything I stated is germane to this thread and the matter at hand, specifically the lack of an updated firmware for these poorly performing boards and precisely why that firmware won't be released:  the scammers and marketeers at scamfast are trying to rake their customers over the coals again for just a few more coins.  Been there and have the BFL shirt to prove it.  Nice try eduardo.  You and your ilk are the reason bitcoin is in such trouble.  Eating your own does nobody any good.

Based on the success of the Avalon ASIC users thread, I'm posting one for HashFast now that some people have received theirs.

Please no discussion about broken promises/delivery/refunds etc.

I've finally posted an official version that is designed to make the most of the new firmware coming up, cgminer 3.12.1

Announce and details here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.msg4989440#msg4989440

This should also fix the windows reliability issues for those poor souls mining with their BlowJobs on windows.

ckolivas: I'm assuming your units have the beta HF firmware flashed on them? It seems like per-die frequency control could be very useful. How much faster speeds are you getting with the new firmware + cgminer per-die control?

For anyone that might be running a little hot, it might be worthwhile to check the water cooler/ reapply thermal paste. i was running around 84 degrees on Die 1 and just reapplied thermal paste and reseat the water cooler head. Running about 8 degrees cooler now. Disclaimer, dont do it if you  don't know what you are doing.

Is that 2nd picture your own application of thermal paste? I assume it is because it looks quite nice.

What was the original thermal paste? Was it the stock one that comes preapplied to the waterblock?

Has anyone seen a difference between the cgminer reported hashrate and pool reported?

Cgminer shows a steady 500GH for me at 650mhz but btcguild says around ~455gh.
8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast BabyJet users thread on: January 22, 2014, 07:25:02 PM
Wasn't it supposed to self tune for max HR based on feedback from the on-die temp sensor, or am I imagining things again?
The temp sensor does work, check out the cgminer output instead of the (filtered) webinterface.

PS: I'm thinking that the first device hashing at.... 12 Mh (lol) is the CPU of the Raspberry Pi...  Huh
The 1st device is also the BabyJet. You probably unplugged the usb cable and plugged it back in when cgminer was running or something.

I have a mFi power strip so I don't know how accurate it is compared to a kil-a-watt but it says that the miner is drawing 497/498 watts overclocked to 500Gh (650 mhz core clock).

For comparison it says the raspberry pi is drawing 2.5 watts.

15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: February 18, 2013, 01:24:00 AM
New firmware received from Avalon via email.

Upgrade was successful using standard web-based OpenWRT firmware upgrade procedure.

New image appears to be based on cgminer 2.10.5, and the fans are running at a much higher speed (and noise level) than the previous image.  Restarted and was back to mining within minutes... let's see how this impacts stability.

How loud exactly is the unit. Can you compare it to the sound an Xbox360 makes? Or a range hood?

Didn't realize over the last year this forum has turned into a scamfest.
Fine I will do escrow.

Selling Your BitForce Products
by BFL_Jody  , 12-04-2012 at 09:19 PM

Sometimes people have sold their pre-orders to someone else, because they need the money or whatever. I have some comments about that:

1. We will verify your order for potential buyers if you ask us to do so.
2. We will not ship to your customer. We will still ship it to you. It is your responsibility to ship to your customer.
3. The warranty is still in effect even if it is sold to someone else.
4. Please be careful--several people have bought items from shysters who didn't even have an order.
https://forums.butterflylabs.com/blogs/bfl_jody/54-selling-your-bitforce-products.html
I do know this. I understand that I need to to re-ship this out.

Payment after auction ends. I'm not willing to do escrow but I'll be happy to provide enough information for you to comfortable. I've been here for a long time and have no intention of leaving anytime soon.
