1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.1c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: November 20, 2020, 11:56:41 AM
I am really puzzled by this: On SMOS and HiveOS half of my 8 gb R9 390 hawaii cards are not woking. The same is with lolminer. BUT Claymore works well with 30 Mh/s (moded voltage but not vram timings). May be this is related to the kernel of linux - I know that after Ubuntu 16.04 and kernel 4.10 hawaii is not always working well. My current kernels are - 5.021 amd opencl 18.20 or 19.20. I can't find these os with older kernels.

I am using Windows 8.1, AMD 16.9.2. The R9 390 can work now, all 6 GPU are recognized.

I benchmark it to DAG 378. It can work. But if I use 379, it will show
GPU1: AMD driver 16.9.2
GPU2: AMD driver 16.9.2
GPU3: AMD driver 16.9.2
GPU4: AMD driver 16.9.2
GPU5: AMD driver 16.9.2
GPU6: AMD driver 16.9.2
GPU1: Starting up... (0)
GPU1: Generating ethash light cache for epoch #400
GPU2: Starting up... (0)
GPU3: Starting up... (0)
GPU4: Starting up... (0)
GPU5: Starting up... (0)
GPU6: Starting up... (0)
Light cache generated in 5.1 s (13.0 MB/s)
GPU2: Free VRAM: 7.950 GB; used: 0.050 GB
GPU2: Disabling DAG pre-allocation (not enough VRAM)
GPU2: Allocating DAG for epoch #400 (4.12) GB
GPU2: Allocating buffers failed with: clCreateBuffer (-61).
Fatal error detected. Restarting.

GPU3: Free VRAM: 7.950 GB; used: 0.050 GB
GPU3: Disabling DAG pre-allocation (not enough VRAM)
GPU3: Allocating DAG for epoch #400 (4.12) GB
GPU3: Allocating buffers failed with: clCreateBuffer (-61).
GPU4: Free VRAM: 7.950 GB; used: 0.050 GB
GPU4: Disabling DAG pre-allocation (not enough VRAM)

hawaii cards are recognized as 8GB, it cannot allocate around 4GB memory.

Is that because of the old AMD driver?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are there more profitable cryptocurrencies than Bitcoin? on: January 02, 2019, 10:24:31 AM
There are always more profitable coins than bitcoin but main question is that; is there any coin more trustable than bitcoin, you can invest to any altcoin which rises faster than btc but you can lose money faster don't forget this.

Some times, the Bitcoin Cash is more profitable to mine than Bitcoin.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: StakXMR Cryptonight v8 performance on: October 19, 2018, 10:12:47 AM
I have the R9 nano, dropped from 710H/s to 540 H/s using the same clock. The V7 uses Claymore and V8 uses XMR Stak.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: June 28, 2018, 10:57:33 AM
bitcoin is best coin till now, invest in bitcoin is best chance for safety long time, but when you want more you can take some coins from top ten list best coins in coinmarketcap that is my suggestion

How about the Bitcoin Cash? I found there is quite a lot of people mentioning that.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hold or sell and buy back lower on: May 11, 2018, 09:16:15 PM
I bought some alt coins when they were "crashed" to very cheap price line, that was a gift I think.
That looks so sad bro.But next time if you have planned to buy altcoins maybe you will choose a potential altcoin and observed the volatile movement if it is in demand.

I saw the BCH is quite volatile at the moment. Is that a sign that it is in demand?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Fork in one day.. hash rate drop predictions ? on: April 09, 2018, 03:48:11 PM
i switched about 90% of my hashpower yesterday from ETH to CryptonightV7 (via Nicehash) since it's so profitable.

reasons for using nicehash instead of monero directly.

1. simplicity is valuable to me, no need to manually trade
2. I try to only deal in coins supported by coinbase/GDAX. Since I'm US based, they're really the only exchange i trust.
3. NH pays me in BTC, which I trade straight to ETH for HODLing.
4. NH is still paying significantly more than mining ETH straight
5* (Bonus for everyone on cryptonightV7) Power use is about 30% lower than ETH! lower electric cost and lower heat all around

you can certainly make more mining Monero straight if you dont mind trading on second tier exchanges (IMO), and the little bit of extra work. Personally I'm more interested in the long term prospects of ETH so that's what im focused on holding and putting my efforts towards.

So you are supporting ETH - the coin that is going to leave gpu miners alone with asics and pos centralization. Rich become more rich ))

the E3 is a GPU based system IMO. the hash/watt ratio is clear as day that its GPU based and not a true ASIC. people are worried about nothing. if the devs fork, it will likely not have much impact as i bet the E3's can be updated to support it just as any other GPU system can.

ETH devs do not support ASICs, they are just calling Bitmains bluff.

IMO, bitmain wants a fork to happen, because it wouldn't affect the E3 and they know a second fork would not be acceptable to the community. so they want to fool the devs to forking, so they can develop a TRUE ASIC for the fork.

chess, not checkers

If E3 is GPU based system, it will not be so cheap. The RX 470 cost more than $300 each, 6 will cost more than $1800.

theres literally no proof any ETH ASIC even exists.

actually it is a simple strategy of trading but the important thing is that you have to have many skills and knowledge know when to buy and sell.

It is quite difficult to say. For the good coins like Bitcoin Cash or ETH, it is better to hold for the long term.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: February 26, 2018, 09:00:27 AM
Of course it worth, a lot of altcoins are very good project with serious team they will be in future most famous companies of the world, just find best of them and invest to them..
Yes, in addition, almost all altcoins have fallen dramatically in price and at the moment they look very promising for investment. I also believe that some of the altcoins in the future will be huge and influential companies, so it's better to buy coins at a lower price than to buy in the future at a very high.

that is right. So we need to find the coin with some potential. I think the Bitcoin Cash could be a good one. It is supported by large community.

First, investigate the course and dynamics of development. Look at all the variations made with this crypto currency. After the conclusions you have made, you can already decide for yourself.

the quality of the development team is very important.

I think Doge is still promising coin as I see on some gambling sites accept and support it to use in betting. Ethereum is the number one altcoin and I don't doubt it. Newly created tokens are ERC20 supported with the help of its platform same with Waves.

Doge coin is still good. But there are more people having the bitcoin cash.

Damn, I have 26$ loss. Should I sell it or hold for some time?

It depends if you think the DGB has future or not.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: June 02, 2017, 05:22:33 PM
Every coin in top 10 is rather good investment long term
Maybe not Ripple as future is unstable.

Ripple is not so decentralised.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: zcash soon 0.2 btc! on: May 13, 2017, 08:32:48 AM
0,2 btc I think it might be at the beginning of the second quarter of 2018 .

Please note the bitcoin price will also rise.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: May 09, 2017, 06:24:38 AM
The only good Alts are Decred, Augur, TorCoin and of course, Ethereum.

The Decred is a good one.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: April 14, 2017, 05:05:12 PM
Buy Blocknet tokens. They will boom soon!  Cool

ZEC could be better.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: April 05, 2017, 04:38:11 PM
By doing trading in altcoin you need to be careful because most of that coin is scam, just learn for the coin you planning to buy before to invest much better to be careful that to be careless. Money is not easy to get that is why you need to invest with less risk.
Stick to top 50 marketcap and you will be fine

I think top 20 is much safer.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buy cards now or wait? on: March 19, 2017, 03:00:52 PM

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.2 (Windows/Linux) on: March 04, 2017, 08:01:40 AM
Windows Miner v12.2 has a memory leak 700mb per day, 5gb per week.

yes, this is true. Claymore can you fix this?

Confirmed, fixed. I can re-upload v12.2 or I can include this fix in next update which will be available in a few days.
