That's just going from 1BTC to 25.5BTC with no collateral.
Once again- I am asking for constructive criticism here. As I said, I have two motorcycles, together worth more than the loan amount, that I would have used as collateral, had somebody asked. Do you have any suggestions I haven't already put forth myself?

We already had a scammer (Hydroponica) use his employment as security for a loan. Guess what? He still defaulted. Well, moot point now, with 10min left and myself the only major buy-in- but I am pretty damned sure Tony and Stephen would tell me to hit the bricks if I did *anything* to paint the company in a negative light. I feel very lucky to have landed a job at Bitpay and have been working quite hard for them. I don't know the story on Hydroponica. But I would have to be a massive idiot to jeopardize my employment on a loan that only represents about one month of gross income. As mentioned in the loan listing, Bitpay pays part of my salary in BTC- talk about killing the goose... The idea behind crowdfunding this purchase was to distribute the output of at least one ASIC miner, because it bugs me a little bit how much mining power has been concentrated in the hands of relatively few. Suggestions on what I can do to increase confidence in the meantime? Ideas: - I own two motorcycles worth more than the requested loan amount. Could use them as collateral. - I've never been very active on the forums; I will change that. (I wish I'd had enough liquid BTC to buy that Ducati that was FS a few weeks ago.) - I'll try a smaller loan amount next time; going from 1BTC to 30 probably did play a hand in scaring people off; I thought putting in ~4.5BTC of my own would alleviate those concerns but appears not. You're not wrong to be suspicious- I got taken for .25BTC from a bad borrower on BTCjam myself. But I left this thread open for any questions anyone wanted to ask- asking the kind of questions that represent vetting a borrower would be more appropriate than just saying "this one guy was a scammer so you are too".

Good luck with your loan, but can we trust you?
I'd like to think so. As I am an engineer at Bitpay, defaulting on this loan would reflect very poorly on the company, and probably cost me my job. The output of a KNCMiner Saturn is not at all worth that risk. Thanks for the well wishes. I will pay in one more deposit from my "pyramidhead" account later today, but unless I get similar contributions from others in the next few hours, it looks like this isn't going to happen. Que sera- experiments don't always work, but it's important to try ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Wow- no feedback at all? I spent all day out shooting clays and I was expecting a flood of negative comments when I returned. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I guess if there's not enough interest I'll continue saving my coins and make a different purchase in a couple months when other hardware is close to shipping.

https://btcjam.com/listings/7189I realize the requirements for requesting a loan on BTCjam are less stringent than what's suggested in the FAQ for this subforum, but I chose to use that platform because it has both feedback and moderation- I thought those features might increase investor confidence. As noted in the loan comments at the bottom of the page, I have been depositing my own BTC income as well- I have skin in this game, I'm not just expecting everyone else to buy a miner for me. I'm happy to answer any questions ITT.

gorgeous bike... good luck with the sale.

I'd rather leave things as they are. Please, focus on mining which is core business rather then on referral program
absolutely agree; it's good the way it is.

Update on plans:
Before the end of July I will be able to deploy ~600GH/s more. Before the end of August there will be at least 3TH/s more.
have been investing with you (and advertising for you) since January- pretty excited to see my accounts come online. thanks for all your hard work. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

First loan repaid early; unfortunately, none of the investors left feedback. Doing a similar loan again: https://btcjam.com/listings/5623Will still return 10%; but this time over 3 months (to demonstrate not just BTC income, but also trust- and creditworthiness). Thanks to all who choose to participate in this experiment with me.

Good luck to you then. Seems kind of supicious though.
I can see why you'd feel that way, and I guess you're not wrong to distrust an unknown entity such as myself. That's why I a.) fed BTCjam with more personal info than many here would be comfortable with, and b.) offered a very lucrative percentage/timeframe on this. I don't expect to win the entire forum over by paying off one loan, but it'll be a step in the right direction. My drivers license and utility bill (ID & address) are pending verification @ BTCjam. If you have any other advice as to steps I could take to become more trustworthy (other than "establish good repayment history", obv), I'm listening.

well, someone bought the remaining 88% this morning. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) many thanks if this is a bitcointalk user, and you're reading this. as stated earlier; repayment will be handled through BTCJam's automated system. with only 3 investors on this loan, i may need to do this again next month to earn sufficient feedback; will update this thread if so.

Welcome. I'm a bit of a newb also.
I did read a post somewhere that the trust system was not exactly up to par yet. I think we all start out negative.
looks like we all start at 0 to me? i've never posted before this thread anyway, only lurked since January as you can see from my profile. hopefully i get some trust points here as well as rep at BTCjam after payout. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

1. 6 weeks is "long"? do you have a terminal disease or something? 2. can you give me some feedback as to why you feel that way, given that i've exposed a LOT of personal information to BTCJam in order to secure this loan? do you really think i want to get hounded by phone calls, texts, emails, and facebook messages for *one* bitcoin? i've been pretty transparent as to my motive and method here.

hey all. long-time lurker, need to finally go active so i guess it's time to post something. if any of you are BTCJam users, i've got a rep-builder loan for 1btc funding at this time. the capital from this loan will not be used for anything, this is just to build reputation. i have more than enough liquid output from my existing mining operation to pay the 10% interest. put bluntly: i am spending .1BTC to buy reputation on BTCJam; anyone who wants to help fund my loan will get 10% over 6 weeks. i've verified several forms of identity on that site (so you will receive them if i default on the loan; i don't want that). https://btcjam.com/listings/5249buy-ins appreciated; am available for any questions/feedback.
