1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 16, 2023, 02:45:15 PM
Aren't you too optimistic on that? I've doubted Arsenal's ability to keep their lead at the beginning of the year and I can also see them winning now. It's just that I wouldn't say they are too far ahead when there are still 11 games to play and up to 33 points to collect. City is also in a good form right now and have only drawn 1 out of their last 5 matches. That's a pretty consistent performance in my book.
33 points to collect but look at the recent form Arsenal are the better form but Manchester City have improved recently but they are still fighting in the Champions League and have just advanced to the next stage which might take a lot out of their players. I think they will need to make a decision on what they push for the most because they do not have the depth at the moment to compete in both competitions. Arsenal is 5 points ahead and I think they will think they have a better chance in the Champions League and will probably mean more to their fans if they win it.

But I can't say the same for Frankfurt. They were really desperate against Napoli in both matches and the defeat on aggregate was really heavy.
Frankfurt had the hardest match out of them and Porto because Napoli are experienced in the Champions League and they are a very good team. Frankfurt have not had as much experience and do not have the money to invest in the players that Napoli can afford. Porto are the biggest disappointment because they had a chance to make history and advance to the next stage.

The federal reserve as an interesting choice to make. They either keep raising interest rates and let banks continue to have liquidity issues and the banking system approaches collapse, or they grant these banks liquidity by halting the interest rates hikes by allowing the inflation crisis to get worse.

The domino effect of a single bank causing international turmoil tells you the system is rotten to its core.

There is no way they recover from it because it is how the fiat system is designed banks are one of the main things that make fiat systems and if they were to do any thing you suggest they will eventually collapse and it is why a lot of people have been predicting that the fiat system is on the brink of collapsing.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when people tells their story on bitcoin on: March 16, 2023, 02:35:51 PM
Every one story is different on how they got here but we all got here because we want to make money and do not want to trust banks and with the recent news of the banks failing for the 2nd time in a decade I think it is more important to focus on the amount of people coming to Bitcoin instead of their story. I have not heard many people say that they converted to Bitcoin because they lost trust in banks instead it is usually because they are looking for new ways to earn Bitcoin that fiat does not offer like faucets in the early days and because there is not as much competition in Bitcoin services.

The next two hours we should break the $25,00 resistance! For the 2nd time in a couple of weeks. I think we might push on from here without dropping back down we might finally be able to challenge the $30,000 price. We just need more banks to fail in the next couple of days and it should continue rising. I do not know why multiple banks are failing in the same week but I hope it continues for the price of Bitcoin!

Really? It broke 25000 5 hours ago. It also broke it yesterday and the day before. Looking at bitfinex right now:
26529 on March 14,
25324 March 15,
25102 today.

Going above 25 is easy. Staying there for more than a day is the hard part Wink
I know it is the hard part and I know we have breached $25,000 a few times in the last couple of weeks but we did not have several banks failing and being all over the news then. I think if we get above it again for the 2nd time in 24 hours we should stay above it because that is a sign of people dropping their bearish attitude and buying more Bitcoin.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks are once again up to their old tricks - Is your money safe? on: March 16, 2023, 02:29:47 PM
The idea that a bank would just custody your money (for a fee), was pretty much abolished more than a century ago. Now they even pay you because they need the reserve which brings them a potential 10x increase in phantom money, aka credit expansion etc.

Whats worse? Yes, exchanges are doing this as well... And "stable" tokens. Ponzi backed on ponzi backed on ponzi.
Yes and if you gave this idea to some one with out mentioning the word bank they would call it a ponzi scheme. Eventually every bank will fail because when a big part of their customers leaves to another bank trying to compete and offering better rates then they will not have the reserve and will fail. The government can then decide to bail them out or let them die. Both are not great for the economy and then the cycle continues with the bank which offered better rates which they cannot sustain and eventually their business fails and a lot of people get hurt again.

Chelsea was winning the last meeting against everton. Will chelsea repeat the previous achievement against everton? Sean has been saving everton from relegation zone.  I would say that if sean was successfully helping everton to slowly transforming into the new team that has a good team work. It seems like that sean will not give up easily against chelsea. Chelsea may be going up again after some bad results but we must remember that if chelsea has not yet made us confidence about its performance.
Winning three matches in a row will not become a good measurement to take a conclusion if chelsea is on fire right now after so many loses in the various matches. I would like to see that chelsea will able to win at least 10 games in a row.
That will make sense to think that if chelsea is coming back again.
It is too soon to see if Chelsea are coming back to their old form they have played better in the last 2 games and have looked like a team that could continue the form but I would not be sure or want to bet on them beating Everton. Dortmund was a tough task to beat in the way the did but I think Everton are going to be harder because they are more defensive and will not allow spaces in behind which is what the Chelsea players are currently trying to do.

Yep, Swiss Credit and Silicon Valley Bank. The markets are wondering very rightfully which one comes next. It seems that you need a financial crisis every 5 years of the FED and other start forgetting what are they there for. I am concerned about how this may end up, along with the effects on bitcoin - in the past a efuge, but now linked to other financial assets.

This is a clear indication that these banks are not trustworthy. The only difference between these banks and exchanges is that depositors or customers funds are safe according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. I just wish exchanges will be able to have such insurance that guarantees crypto funds in their custody. This would have helped to reduce the constant attack of the crypto sector by the government.

The rise in the price of Bitcoin this period is very surprising. This is a clear indication that Bitcoin will someday become quasi-independent from global economic influence. Bitcoin is just unpredictable.
It was confirmed that banks cannot be trusted in 2008 but I guess a lot of people already forgot about it. I do not understand why more people do not realize that banks are using their money to gamble with and make a profit and if some thing goes wrong the governments will bail them out because it would ruin the economy if so many defaulted loans were not covered.

I tried to make an alternative multibet to confirm my predictions in the previous 4 UCL matches and the results were quite decent for a small amount of money. Only the Porto vs Milan match resulted in a half win and the rest my predictions were all correct. For Manchester City, no one would have thought that they could win 7-0, so I'm betting over 2.25 goals here.
Congrats on the win! Disappointing it is not for more money but you know your football! If you put $50 on that bet you would have a very nice return now. Make sure you post your predictions on this topic because we would all like to see your insight into things and maybe help us win some money too! I would have never thought Manchester City would win by more then 5 goals but they are one of the best teams left in the competition and could win the competition if they have favorable games from now to the end.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 16, 2023, 02:13:52 PM
You left out Newcastle United, who has two outstanding matches and is only six points behind Manchester United; if they win their two outstanding matches, they will have a chance to qualify for the Champions League ahead of Tottenham and Liverpool.
Newcastle United are a good team but I do not know if they are good enough to compete wtih Tottenham and Liverpool. I know they have games in hand and are behind Manchester United but they have the worst players and they have been playing worse then they were in the 1st half but I know what you are saying and I agree they could be a threat to the top 4 but I still think it will be out of Newcastle United, Tottenham and Liverpool for the 4th position. I think Manchester United are safe and Manchester City. Arsenal is going to win by a lot of points in my opinion.
11  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Had enough of ordinals? on: March 16, 2023, 02:09:58 PM
Question: is there anyone out there that can illustrate how to remove ordinals
transactions from the mempool of my node?

Only for mempool? Use this patch and compile Bitcoin Core from source code, https://gist.github.com/luke-jr/4c022839584020444915c84bdd825831. You just need to follow compilation guide from https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/tree/master/doc#building. But if you don't want to store any Ordinal data on blocks, you should run Bitcoin Core 0.12.1 or other client which doesn't support SegWit which means your node doesn't store any witness data.
Is it possible to detect which nodes have applied this patch because I think if every node did it we could remove ordinals and the problems they bring to the Blockchain?
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i have no programming knowledge. but i love bitcoin and would like to learn on: March 16, 2023, 02:08:53 PM
Do not start with Bitcoin start by learning a programming language and then come back to Bitcoin development because it will make more sense to you. If you start with Bitcoin development you are not learning the fundamentals of a programming language and you will learn a lot slower. Learn programming any programming language and then you only need to learn the syntax for another language you will learn all the same fundamentals what ever the programming language is. The most important thing to do is start learning now.

The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.

history repeats.
the important question is how many of us are going to learn from it.
No one will learn any thing this is the 3rd time the banks are being bailed out and the 2nd time in this decade. Do you think people will learn from their mistakes? The banks are funded by the poor and most people cannot survive without banks until employers and companies start paying their wages in Bitcoin they are not going to learn they are just going to move their money to other banks that have not been bailed out. I bet some people think this is positive that the government are willing to forgive the banks and secure them when things go wrong and see that as security when it is not.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 16, 2023, 01:57:58 PM
Everton managed to secure a 1-0 victory in their last match. The opposition played very well but were unable to create any chances. Everton was able to secure the victory by scoring 1 goal through a great attack.
Sean Dyche is the master at 1-0 victories. He gets the team to defend with all their pride and then he does a quick counter attack and wins the game. He waits until his opposition goes out all attack and leaves spaces in the defense. I think they survive the Premier League and they become a very good team under Dyche he was the perfect manager for them.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 16, 2023, 01:27:42 PM
Arsenal will win the Premier League and Manchester City are going to come 2nd I think we can agree on that outcome. Arsenal are too far ahead for Manchester City to catch them unless they have a injury crisis or Manchester City can beat Arsenal but I think Arsenal are in the better form and will not have a problem against Manchester City because of the way they play. Manchester City has not been consistent enough to win the remaining games they have and I think they will struggle to keep up with Arsenal even if Arsenal drop points.

Manchester United are favorites for 3rd and I think they will find it easy to secure Champions League football and will probably keep 3rd place. I think Liverpool and Tottenham are the only teams that are unpredictable where they will finish. I think Tottenham gets 4th because they are a little more stable then Liverpool and have better players. Harry and Son will be the difference in qualifying for Champions League. Liverpool only have Mohamed Salah who cannot do it on his own.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 16, 2023, 01:24:09 PM
I got Fiziev as he has more tools in striking than Justin Gaethje, has good enough wrestling defense and has improved cardio as seen in his match vs Dos Anjos.  But I don't think Fiziev will pulverize Gaethje.  It's going to be a good fight with Fiziev edging it out.

One thing with Gaethje tho is the shots he's taken throughout the years could be accumulated and is ready for a KO.

As for Usman, he'll improve his chances of winning and make his current line look like value if he goes out there and have a wrestling heavy game plan.  IMHO.  I think he will...  He just wants his belt back.
Justin Gaethje's wrestling is over hyped in my opinion. He has never shown that he wants to wrestle I cannot remember a time where he tried to take down his opponent. Instead he likes to have a stand up heavy game plan and likes to knock people out. He could have easily won some of his losses if he knew how to wrestle I know he has a long history at high school level and I think he was a state champion but he has not shown that in the UFC and I think he will try his same game plan of standing and trying to knock out Rafael.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much time For next halving? on: March 08, 2023, 01:49:16 AM
Do you know at a point when we anticipate or assume that will be the normal time Bitcoin will have changes it's not when Bitcoin normally experience it's bulls, sometimes i conclude that Bitcoin price will not work out or increase according to our personal speculation, actually Bitcoin can rise in any point in time, but something do trigger it's increment and it's decrement in value, so theirs every tendency that our expected duration we think that Bitcoin will increase and it happened to decrease according to our narrative, so inclusion we are hundred percent sure of when Bitcoin will increase.
FOMO is the biggest reason why we have bull runs but bear markets are when people are trying to drive the price down to buy in at lower prices and make their money back. This happens in all stocks and then things on the news affect the price too. FTX ruined the price of Bitcoin for a long time because it stopped people buying Bitcoin and made a lot of people panic about the security of Bitcoin. A lot of people lost money and every person in the world had FTX steals Bitcoin on their front page of the news. That does not look good and it is hard to get adoption when some thing big happens like that. I do not expect a ATH this year because we will still be recovering from the FTX incident which has clouded peoples confidence in Bitcoin. These events happen every couple of years hopefully we will not see another incident like FTX for at least 3/4 years and we can build from the halving happening next year and get a ATH after it has happened.
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: March 08, 2023, 01:30:03 AM
It is never too late to invest in something that should be around for the next 100+ years. Bitcoin is the only thing that can challenge the fiat currencies and it should increase in value the more people who use it the more it will be worth. I think you should try dollar cost averaging out. Search online [1] for a explanation and it should give you a tutorial on how to do it. If you do dca instead of investing a big amount you should be safer when Bitcoin goes down which it does often. It is easy to think that Bitcoin will fail when the price goes down but if you have faith and wait until it starts recovering again you should see good profits.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if a change in people's views? on: March 08, 2023, 01:18:44 AM
You don't have to wait for such an extreme event to happen to see some impact or disruption of the status quo. After all, it is simply wishful thinking to consider it possible that the majority of the world's population will suddenly convert all their fiat into Bitcoin. That's not going to happen. But the disruption is there. Remittances in some countries, for example, are done in Bitcoin. Some people have also quit saving in fiat and shifted to Bitcoin instead. I mean, there are small yet significant disruptions happening right now. There's no need to see shocking events just to see the impact of Bitcoin.
You need a big event to happen if you want every person in the world to convert to Bitcoin instantly. We would probably need fiat to collapse and that probably will not happen for a long time. Every country wants to keep fiat alive because they profit huge margins from keeping it alive and Bitcoin is a threat to their profits because they can not control it like they do with fiat. They will try to rescue it if it is at threat of being replaced by Bitcoin and I think it might be bans on Bitcoin if we did come close to threatening them because they want people to think that fiat is the only option for them.

If Bitcoin grows steady and people do not jump ship instantly the government might not ban it or put too many restrictions on it. Then when we have enough passionate users who are willing to fight to keep Bitcoin alive we might be in a good position to challenge the fiat currencies but we are a long way off until we can challenge it.
