1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEST DIVIDEND CRYPTO's to invest in... on: September 06, 2019, 05:52:12 PM
Check out zelcash ($zel). Relatively stable price. If you run a node you can make anywhere from 2% to 18% return (annum). Need to have hardware specs tho.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEL] Zelcash : INNOVATIVE-INTELLIGENT-INSPIRING Cryptocurrency - zkSNARKs on: February 26, 2019, 04:24:37 PM

Nothing like starting the morning by reading what seems like a butthurt 'merican rant.  Can't we all be baghodlers?   Naaaa.
[/quote]

You bought into MaskNet ICO?! Sorry man. Some people just can't be helped.
That "butthurt 'merican rant" is called called "advice from the successful".

[/quote]
Yes, must be the retardation.  More than likely cause from the chemical warfare unleashed by USA's Monsanto Corporation's Roundup.  Keep it up and you will surpass Zuckface as digital terrorist #1 in my opinion.  Great sponsorship and promotion of ZEL.
[/quote]

Im not here to sponsor or promote zel. Some people just don't understand it and never will. And judging by your post history, and the tokens it looks like you have bought you are in that camp.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEL] Zelcash : INNOVATIVE-INTELLIGENT-INSPIRING Cryptocurrency - zkSNARKs on: February 24, 2019, 03:01:54 PM
Same here @snarkz  Tried about 8 times to set up the nodes on my a home machine with more than the required specs.  Having set up close to 50 other masternodes from varying coins, thought it would be a snap.   Ended up being such a royal pain in the @ss that I just will sell all on the next pump and put some in the more refined masternodes and projects that are far ahead of ZEL.   Not that ZEL doesn't have potential, I just don't see it coming close to what the bigger guys are accomplishing this year.  Finally some real world problem solving and not all about how many exchanges a coin can be listed on.

Dude are you retarded? These arn't masternodes, they are computational network nodes for second layer, dapp, dex functions. Go to: dashboard.zel.network/

If you can't setup a node you either can't follow the tons of detailed documentation that the zel team has already provided, or you can't meet benchmark specs. You understand you need minimums on hardware/bandwidth? You realize there is a 5,000 member, very active discord with tons of support available?

'More refined masternode projects' .. lol you mean Dash, PIVX, etc. I'm confused as to what they have done development wise in the last year. What is the endgame with these projects. Their 'masternode' functions are literally only to centralize distribution to early buyers. There are such limited network or scaling functions that these 'nodes' actually provide. Those gen one projects are already dead, just the bagholders are left, cause the developers all cashed out and bounced last year. I dumped my 500k PIVX and 1k dash just under two years ago and rode btc. Best decision i ever made.

You realize zel is only 1 year old, and through a year long bear market launched POW with fair distro, developed a 100 token multi-asset wallet, launched a highly powerful computational node network, and is implementing a second asset layer, launching dapp interface (in wallet), and building dex (in wallet).

Please dump. You shouldnt hold tokens of projects you don't understand or havnt researched.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ZelCash - Anyone Following Project? on: October 15, 2018, 12:23:20 AM
.. and price up 50% today on $50k volume. I think nodes go live in November.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ZelCore wallet on: September 30, 2018, 06:58:44 PM
Yea, I am not sure a self-generated username and password is a brainwallet. You can still create extreme random alpha-numeric sequences to protect your wallet as securely as a private key.

Rumor has it ZelCore is launching a decentralized 2fa to secure wallet shortly.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ZelCash - Anyone Following Project? on: September 22, 2018, 03:13:41 PM
We already have Zencash. Why choose such a similar name, i.e. "Zelcash". I always stay away from projects which adopt a name similar to other popular projects. If you can't choose a unique name for your coin, then what else can we expect from you....

ZelCash is ASIC resistant utilizing 144,5; so I would view it as a more democratized token.

Horizen is an awesome project, but I think for what ZelCash has delivered so far, it is way undervalued. ZelCash has been running for 6 months, and yesterday launched a multi-asset ZelCore platfrom (desktop and mobile). Computational nodes go live in Q4, DEX Q1. ZelCash may be a smaller project, but the dev talent is way underpriced, and the speed they are moving is pretty impressive.

I mean why did we need PIVX when we had Dash if that is the argument?

Low cap doesn't mean that it will be a good project. What i think about low cap projects is, they don't have enough confidence with their product and their ability.

Also, i don't think ZelCash is a good project because it is low cap. I think it is amazing value right now in this current market because it is low cap.
You can spend $10,000 and go buy Horizen and own 0.013% of that project, or spend the same and buy 1% of a fast moving project that has way higher upside potential.

I bought PIVX when it was $0.001 a token. That was a 'low cap' project when I bought it. If you can find the legit, low cap projects, you can do the big multiple returns i think.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ZelCash - Anyone Following Project? on: September 21, 2018, 03:29:21 PM
Anyone following ZelCash?

So I found this project this small, low cap project, that looks really promising. Built on ZCash, already developed a multi-token wallet, implementing Horizen style masternodes (where you need to provide cloud computing nodes with your collateral stake), and really cool roadmap, with DEX and DAPPs in works.

The best part is market cap is under $1.5MM, so as far as I can tell, really good value, considering it only launched 6 months ago, and the progress is crazy. Discord is pretty active.

About to release update to ZelCore. Basically a desktop/mobile app (iOS and Android) multi-token wallet that will be used to integrate ecosystem.
twitter   /Zelcash/status/1042865514924498944

Anyway, I thought it was an interesting, super low cap project that was not a scam. Something rare in space nowadays. What do you guys think.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized storage coins. Are any live? on: June 06, 2017, 12:59:26 PM
My money is on STORJ breaking through.

Need enterprise clients to make this technology and economic system viable. STORJ is the only project with funding or team.

Don't get too caught up on 'decentralized' for application based stuff. Siacoin is too decentralized IMO.

I am holding Siacoin. Also look at Filecoin.

STORJ is the most 'live' I think. They even have a corporate client.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About RDD coin. on: June 06, 2017, 12:56:30 PM
BE VERY CAREFUL about Reddcoin.

I held for over two years. There is part-time development on this project. Redd-ID is not going to be very innovative. I think this is a lot of dumb money pumping into a 'social coin'. Even project devs are trying to calm people down that this is just a market spike. There is nothing really here ..
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What Are Your Crazy Investments on: June 05, 2017, 02:17:51 PM
So assuming we are all carrying some of the low-cap, higher-risk coins, what are you guys carrying and what percent?

I have about 30% of my holdings in higher risk assets. What weighting do you guys carry in higher-risk stuff? I have about 20% of portfolio dedicated to ICOs (new, good stuff like STORJ, Bancor, Tezos etc.). The rest of my portfolio is BTC, ETH (heavy), and anything else that has been top 50 for more than three months.

Here is my super high-risk, nut-job bets.

1. BlockNet - This project looks like it is cooking with gas. My favorite project so far. Low trade volume is issue, so no liquidity, but good stuff.
2. Ubiq + Reddcoin - KILLING it! Going to dump this today probably.
3. BlackCoin - I like the old school POS stuff, plus opportunity in China?
4. Feathercoin - Same as above. Like the old school POW. Fast network. Little development renaissance going on right now. Cheap. Poor mans LTC.
5. BitBay - Doubling down on BlockNet.
6. Stealthcoin - Super crazy high risk. So cheap. I think if there is another privacy rally this one will rocket. Dumb money floating around everywhere.
7. Quark - I know this is suicidal, but I like the old (and trusted) POW network. Who knows. China or someone crazy may start pumping this.
8. Diamond - Weird little POS. Super cheap. Weird community.
9. Lykke - Going to start dumping this, but cool little exchange project.

Any I should add?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / STORJ: Inexperienced Team, Poorly Managed ICO, No Transparency - No Confidence on: May 25, 2017, 02:16:33 PM
STORJ just concluded their ICO.

Terms of sale were clear. Investors would receive rate at time of receipt if paying in BTC/ETH. STORJ would convert BTC/ETH at conclusion of the sale. $30MM target total to be raised.

Except BTC/ETH rose during the sale, so STORJ changed the terms of the ICO mid-event. The target of $30MM was dropped and the STORJ team claimed the total progress bar was incorrectly calculating against CURRENT price, not INVESTMENT price. I guess STORJ thought nobody would care if they raised an extra $10MM at the expense of early investors.

The reason the progress bar was linked to market price was so that STORJ could still reach $30MM total had the price of BTC/ETH dropped. They covered themselves against a drop in price, and went for the cash-grab as prices rose.

Layer that with a total lack of community communication/engagement during the sale. There has been rampant speculation of STORJ playing with the numbers, to which there is no public statement.
It took three days for the STORJ team to let the community know that the reason the fundraising progress bar was dropping was because it was *incorrectly coded* to current price. Telling people there is only $1MM left and taking investments, then an hour later having the progress bar drop by $4MM, is almost fraudulent.

The STORJ team has been attacking community posters who are critical of process, then deleting comments. They are also responding to all complaints with ridiculous excuses; 'we have too few people to handle everything, which is why we need to raise money'.

The sale ended before it hit the $30MM target against the new investment price calculation. Somehow the sale went from $29.2MM to $30MM instantly?
After the sale ended they didn't even disclose totals or identify how they plan on managing the overflow of investment and investor distribution/burn plan.

I am pretty sure the entire STORJ team is running around the Consensus event instead of managing their project/ICO ..

The only way this project is going to be viable is with enterprise involvement.
This team is looking amateur at best, and incompetent at worse. Does anyone seriously think a team that is so unprepared for their own ICO could pitch and win enterprise business.

They can't even update their own website hours after the ICO ends predictably.

I am personally dumping if we get any post-ICO price boost; assuming exchanges will even list the new token based on the ICO.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Tokens Thread - Golem (GNT), Augur (REP), Gnosis (GNO) etc. on: May 21, 2017, 10:51:47 PM
Hey bitcointalk!

I've been a ETH holder since $46 and have recently diversified into some of the token flying around.

With ICOs popping up everywhere I was wondering what y'all think of the token world/market

sereum

Golem and Storj are my ETH token bets. Cloud processing power and cloud storage.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bought 2000$ of Storj ICO (4000 Coins) on: May 21, 2017, 03:52:46 AM
Thoughts? I've already "Technically" made like 500$ becuase the price of the existing Storjcoin X is more than that of the ICO.

I suspect Storj to majorly spike to 100m+ cap, The only thing holding it back is why pay alot for the Storjcoin X when you can buy it for 50 cents at the ICO sale RN.

Here is my most recent analysis on STORJ: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1924515.0. I bought a lot of it. Sia cannot compete against the $30MM enterprise runway. This type of investment is like a 2 - 3 year investment ..
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STORJ - Analysis + Second Round ICO + Outlook on: May 20, 2017, 01:17:47 PM
You can track sale here. https://storj.io/tokensale.html

$23MM in first 24 hours. Includes $15MM cash presale from major HF/VCs. Timing was crazy because I think people are holding their ETH through this massive ETH rally.

Does anyone have a list of the largest crowdsales to date?

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Storjcoin X vs Siacoin on: May 20, 2017, 12:32:02 PM
STORJ through and through.

They have big Union Square Venture investment. I know people don't value this much, but this will give them the backing they need to secure the best development talent.
The second ICO will give them the runway they need to go after Amazon directly. They are going to have $30MM.

People don't realize that to make this technology viable, you need enterprise customers. Who do you think enterprise is going to trust (a decentralized, Asian based crypto-community). Or STORJ. A serious company, with support and development resources and $30MM in funding. With all the tools that are competitive with Amazon/Microsoft Azure, that has a solid price/speed/reliability pitch, AND is US BASED w/ a US BASED sales team that is aggressively pitching enterprise CTOs.

It is a hurdle, but STORJ is going to be much better suited to challenge.

Not saying there aren't community management and centralization issues. But for this to work, centralization is important out-the-gate (especially to onboard customers and development).

Wrote another post on this here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1924515.0
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 5 Second, Think a coin that will be x10 within 30 days on: May 19, 2017, 11:55:45 PM
BlockNet. Storj is going to rocket when the ICO closes. Will take longer than 30 days though.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STORJ ICO - Blockchain based cloud storage- 18 mill so far on: May 19, 2017, 04:01:44 PM
$15MM presale. $5MM in first hour. $10MM by end of day. Sale closed. Liftoff.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Storj Analysis + Second Round ICO on: May 19, 2017, 01:29:54 PM
I think that you are correct about the technical challenges in front of STORJ.  There are some more logistical problems that i discuss in my post here: https://urbancrypto.com/storj-ico-preview/

bagdenglishtea, please let me know what you think of these issues.

Thanks!

I don't think the centralization is an issue here. A fully decentralized system would never be able to compete with Amazon (at least out-the-gate). They are building an economic system. If the economic system is viable, it would be in Storj's self-interest to manage distribution, governance and decentralization improvements, with a great deal of care and community support.

Let's see what happens at 11AM.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / STORJ - Analysis + Second Round ICO + Outlook on: May 19, 2017, 11:38:45 AM
So considering round two ICO is happening at 11AM today; here is my analysis on Storj.

First, there are five hurdles that Storj is going to have to clear:
1. Can they convince enterprise customers to use technology?
2. Can they build a viable economic system that works for both supply/demand sides of equation?
3. Will redundancy levels be high enough.
4. Will the Storj dev team be able to produce security and functional tools that can compete with Amazon and Microsoft Azure.
5. Will 'the cloud' be disrupted by another emerging technology (super high storage capacity or something).
6. Will the community freak out over how the second round ICO has been managed or distributed (with discounts).

If Storj can clear those hurdles, the sky is the limit. I am not talking $1BB cap, I am talking $10BB to $100BB cap over the next three years. BUT they need to clear all of the above and that is a big task.

The Storj team is like no other team I have ever seen. They have serious vision and plan to go straight after the big boys. It looks like the USV investment is going to draw heavy hitter development talent into the frame, and my prediction is they smash the token sale goals (so super long runway on this project).

I think their pitch is they can do cloud storage just as secure/redundant as Amazon, but faster and cheaper (and the second round ICO will raise the funds to build all the tools they will need to complete).

Move from CounterParty to Ethereum has been timed perfectly. We will see where this one goes. Disclaimer; I don't own any Storjcoin X, but I am planning on buying a lot of the new token.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TorCoin: a new possibility for anonymity on: April 26, 2017, 03:26:58 AM
SCAM people.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

Do not buy TORCOIN unless you want to lose money.

1. 'Dev' premined 10% of total supply. The rest is POW. If the 'dev' was serious, they would do full POW, and buy mining power towards it with fair announcement.
2. 'Dev' has not revealed anything about their identity/credentials.

3. This is the crazy part. The 'dev' has actually posted on the TorCoin forums that he will pay a real 'dev' a small percentage of the premine to do actual dev on the coin.

4. Coin does not offer anything new. No new features. No community. No innovation.
5. No roadmap.

Don't buy this crypto. Buy Monero, PIVX, even Dash (I hate Dash) etc. PIVX even has TOR nodes. if you are interested in investing in privacy/anonymous focused crypto.

Oh, and they advertise on CoinMarketCap with banners. The only cryptos that do that without self-funding marketing mechanisms are SCAMS.
