1  Economy / Securities / Re: Gelfman Blueprint: 7-11% Monthly Return on Your Bitcoin on: August 23, 2015, 07:28:57 PM
Greetings,

My name is Nicholas Gelfman, and I am the CEO of Gelfman Blueprint Inc. Evidence of this can be provided if necessary.

I'm posting here to inform everyone that this advertisement was unauthorized and should not have been posted.
Alex Aleksandrovski is a customer, not a partner, and made this post with the intentions of bringing in more customers to earn a commission for himself.

Although we do appreciate the commitment by our customers to the business, we don't allow them to advertise without our consent, except to family and friends.

While much of the information posted is indeed accurate, there are a lot of discrepancies, a lot of the information is private, and we had no plans of advertising publicly like this. I discovered this thread by chance, while doing a google search on our company to evaluate our online reach. No one in the company was informed of this, and the information was mainly copied from an investor packet along with some information personally added by Alex. Much of this information was private and only available under NDA. Given that it is already out, I will clarify some points, in the order they appear in the post.

  • Alex Aleksandrovski is a customer, not a partner.
  • We're registered with FinCEN, not the US Treasury. Technicalities. Also, the address on our MSB registration is outdated as we moved offices two months ago. An amendment has already been sent to FinCEN.
  • While we are indeed a "hedge fund", the term is being used very loosely given the lack of a better comparative term.
  • The monthly return is not 7-11% and was not averaged over 3 years. The current return is advertised at 7-9% monthly over an extended time period, and is based on the return you receive after we take our commission. Our actual full return rate is only available to investors. Customers are only informed about their return rate, not the fund's.
  • We do not make 10,000 trades a day. The algorithm is capable of evaluating up to 10,000 trades a day, assuming 24/7 heavy volume.
  • There aren't "7 total market scenarios that have occurred since the beginning of bitcoin". There are 7 distinct branches in the algorithm's initial decision tree.
  • Almost the entirety of the "Other Projects" section is inaccurate. Really the only accurate statement is that there is indeed a patent pending. I can not provide any actual information on e-Bit as that project is currently in-house only and not for disclosure to anyone other than VCs and investors.
  • We are not using Breadwallet's API. That was an idea we had in the past, that we later decided against due to constraints.
  • The dropbox link is an outdated, older packet, that is not intended for distribution.
  • The home page on our site is new and not fully functional. It was put up on the production server solely because the previous one was hideous and we decided that putting up a decent looking page with 3 out of 6 tabs working was better than what was there before. The page should be fully functional by the end of the week.
  • The fees we pay per trade and the amount of coins we can trade while producing similar returns are inaccurate. That information is disclosed only on a need to know basis to investors in person.
Once I discovered the post, my initial course of action was to contact Alex and have this post taken down, but I read the replies and see that there are some people he's already responded to, so I'm posting this to inform. After ample time, this thread will be removed.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me or email me at nick@gelfmanbp.com

Thank You,
Nicholas Gelfman

OK, so I got a PHP based block crawler running: http://198.12.67.18/domecoin

Obviously this isn't going to work long-term since it's not too advanced in terms of functionality.
I'm offering a 20k DOME bounty to anyone who can get the Abe blockchain explorer(or similar block explorer) functioning for Domecoin, as I ran into errors with int overflows while it was scanning the blockchain.
I can provide a server for hosting and if necessary, ssh access for setup and testing. Anyone with the necessary expertise, please PM me.

Rofl.. you made a clone of Helix coin, without bothering to bring across the SHA-3 algorithm? And who deliberately makes a clone of a known scamcoin, without any effort to try and be different or at the very least assure people that this isn't also a scam coin? Are you dense? Let's give you the benefit of the doubt and say you're not the dev of Helixcoin just trying to produce another scam: where do you get the bright idea of ripping off a scamcoin word for word?

This scam is so blatant it hurts, lmao. Anyone who falls for this deserves to lose their money.

And btw, I didn't lose out with Helixcoin. I mined for about 2 hours right at launch and then stopped. No loss to me, but I do have a bunch of helix coins that will never be worth anything.

I "ripped off" helixcoin because I had the idea of making that a while ago but never got around to it. When I finally had enough knowledge to make a coin it was already made. When I was writing up the ANN, helixcoin was not yet a scam and was doing OK.

I didn't bring over SHA-3 because I needed to keep things as simple as possible. Reason for this is because I previously used two different coins as a source and had issues with compiling Windows binaries. I decided to use litecoin since that was plain old scrypt with no special modifications, and already had a detailed procedure for cross compilation.

I'm not sure who's losing money here, aside from the electricity used to mine it, which isn't much given the current difficulty of the network. The coin isn't on any exchanges, there aren't any services available, and no "investing" happening. I never had hopes of this taking off to the moon, so there really isn't any damage happening here as the community can decide how much they want to adopt the coin.

I do have plans to create a coin with a new feature, which I believe will be innovative. Of course this will be pre-announced, more testing will be done, much less premine (if that will even be possible *hint*), and much more work will be put into that.

This coin will be maintained as long as the network continues to survive, I have no intentions on abandoning it until my two nodes are the only ones left on the network, which is currently not the case:

Side note: 5000 blocks, well shit.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DomeCoin [DOME] ALL HAIL DOME AND DEMOCRACY on: March 14, 2014, 11:08:18 PM
Another scrypt coin. Well, gotta start somewhere, right?
Fork of the latest litecoin source.
Block reward - 718 per block for all 718 pokemon.
Halving time - Rewards halve every 700,000 blocks. 50% of the coins will be mined by the first halving, 75% by the second, 87.5% by the third, etc.
Block time - 30 seconds per block, just like the vote period of democracy mode.
Difficulty Adjustment - 30 blocks.
Premine - 5 million coins in Block 1. 0.05% of total, hopefully that won't upset many of you. This is almost 7000 blocks or about 2.5 days worth of mining.
Ports - RPC: 6886 P2P:6887 (Testnet - RPC: 16886 P2P:16887)

**************
clone ,why not add more new feature

Given that this is my first coin, I wanted to get an idea of the workload necessary for the release and maintenance of a regular coin before I add new features that no coins have.

whaaat's that a picture of anyway? A brown rock or something?

That's the dome fossil, or rather, the best picture of it I could find in the right size.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DomeCoin [DOME] ALL HAIL DOME AND DEMOCRACY on: March 14, 2014, 08:51:18 PM
Are you kidding me? This is the same scammer that made Helixcoin and then ditched it just a couple weeks ago! The graphics are the same, both coins are based on pokemon, even the way he writes is the same:

Domecoin = "All hail dome and democracy" -- written in the [ANN] thread title
Helixcoin = "All hail Helixcoin" -- written in the OP's sig

Domecoin is based on Pokemon, as was Helixcoin. The Helix fossil and the Dome fossil are the two fossils from the original gameboy game that could be acquired and revived into pokemon.

Don't get caught being a bagholder on this one! Look at this thread if you don't believe me: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=489172.0

This dev abandoned Helixcoin within days, now they're going to do exactly the same thing here. Don't fall for this scam!

Uhhh...the similarities in the "All hail" are due to the constant chanting in the chat. Also I've been around waaay longer than https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=256340

I did write the thread based on the way that the helix coin dev wrote the thread since this is indeed meant to be basically a clone to helixcoin.
I'm not even going to mention that helixcoin is more advanced than this. Also if you look at my posts, I've posted a thread asking for help on building Windows Qt wallets, well after helixcoin was around. I'm not forcing anyone to uptake this coin, but keep your mistakes to yourself. Just because you got screwed over with helixcoin, it does not give you the right to go on a spree to take out your anger on someone who happened to make a similar coin.

Any work being done on the advertisement of the coin to make it popular and accepted here and there?

I've only posted it in a few forums so far, still trying to figure out the best way to spread it.
Feel free to do some advertising, I'll throw you some domecoins for your time.

Copied the wallet from the linux to my windows machine and it worked nice Smiley I can see the minted blocks now.

That works too, just be sure to spend from only one wallet though, and keep an extra backup.

Here is a screenshot:

http://screencast.com/t/HI348StTvp

ok it seems it is working. However how to I make those coins mined on the linux to go to my windows wallet. I do not have X installed on the linux so I cannot start the qt.

After those coins mature, you can send them elsewhere with this command:

Code:
./domecoind sendtoaddress <domecoinaddress> <amount>
