1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best payments processor for a e-commerce website? on: January 21, 2018, 12:36:27 AM
I'm only not sure about SegWit, I don't know does they support it.

Segwit is not mention anywhere on their site so they most likely do not support it imo.

Do you know if they automatically convert the crypto to fiat themself or the account must be linked to a external exchange to provide this service?
2  Economy / Service Discussion / Best payments processor for a e-commerce website? on: January 20, 2018, 11:52:54 PM
I'm looking for one to start accepting Bitcoin and maybe other crypto.

Here's some features that I would like:

Mandatory:

-Automatic btc to fiat conversion option available.
-Can be integrated to major e-commerce platform.

Really nice features to have:

-Segwit support
-Can also accept alt coins that can be automatically convert to fiat and BTC

Thanks!

4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Which legit coins should have the most growth potential for 2018 and why? on: December 26, 2017, 08:46:07 PM
I'm cautiously optimistic about the potential of BTC for 2018 but I'm also considering converting 5% of it to alt coins that also have great potential.

So I think it would nice if you could suggest some solid alt coins with great potential and explain in a few sentences why you believe that. If your explanations makes sense to me, I will obviously dig deeper to know more about the coins.

I'm currently looking at LTC, XMR, ZEC and ETH but i don't have make a final decision yet.

FWIW I don't believe one second in bcash outside of some questionnable pump and dump. I despise Roger Ver and I think this coin will lose all his relevency once segwit and LN will be fully implemented. So no need to lose your time convincing me otherwise about this coin.

Thanks!

5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I make a decent living by selling BTC on localbitcoins.com? on: December 21, 2017, 03:19:02 AM
Do you mean trading at localbitcoins? If so, if bitcoin keep climbing, then yes.

I mean selling bitcoin at a profit on the platform and maybe other kind of trade. I don't have checked what is possible but I could also be interested to buy at a profit and maybe trading alt coins. I will check that more in details this week.

What country are you in?

The country you're in might make the difference between prospering or doing ten years in jail.

You might live somewhere with friendly banks or banks that'll freeze you out and shut you down in a few days.

I prefer not disclosing publicly my country at this time but I checked on localbitcoins and a few traders are accepting bank deposit at any local branch where I'm living. So I guess I would not have a problem with that. But before opening a account for that, I guess I will double check with the bank to be sure that they are OK with that.

I'm seriously considering doing this part-time and maybe full-time later. So is it possible to make a decent living out of this?

It would nice if you can share your overall experience with us. Any advices and link to good ressources about this will also be welcome. Thank you!

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Need advices about getting the best possible fees in my situation. on: December 16, 2017, 02:29:20 PM
I have BTC still on the legacy blockchain that I would like to send to a segwit address to get better fee on future transactions. The thing is that the fees to do a transaction from a legacy address are insane (even with slow confirmations) at the moment. So I'm trying to figure out what would be the best option in my case.

I'm not in a hurry to spend or sell the BTC I have on the legacy blockchain because I'm planning to hodl most of it for a long time. However, I think it would be nice to get the BTC ready at a Segwit compatible address.

Here some questions I have:

1-Is the fees on the legacy blockchain are more likely to get lower or higher in a near future? In others words, should I wait to do the transfer to a segwit address?

2-What kind a saving aprox. in % can I get from sending BTC from a segwit address to another segwit one vs a transaction done on the legacy blockchain?

Thank you!
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Should I convert my BCH to BTC? on: September 10, 2017, 10:46:27 PM
Yep, I got some BCH from the fork as a lot of hodler out there and I'm not sure what would the best thing to do with it (in term of long term return of investement).

I would like to hear the opinion of a few experienced traders on this before making my mind.

If yes, what would be the best way to do this?

Thanks!
10  Economy / Service Discussion / Best Bitcoin services available in Canada on: September 02, 2017, 04:30:06 PM
Hello,

I would like to start a discussion about Bitcoin services available in Canada.

I'm currently using QuadriguaCX as my exchange and it is OK so far. I'm wondering if there is now a better way to exchange Fiat to BTC with a lower exchange rates from Canada?

Also, I've seen many bitcoin VISA debit card available online to spend BTC by loading a amount to a kind of prepaid credit card. All those cards seems very convenient but I didn't find one yet that was available for Canadian and that can be loaded with Canadian Dollars. The ones I found can only be loaded with USD or Euro with a conversion rate of aprox. 3% for each transaction when spending in a different currency. Anyway, I would be happy to learn if someone know a card services like this available for Canadians...

Thanks
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What would be the next 3 most promising ICOs? on: June 02, 2017, 08:13:40 PM

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / What's behind the sudden rise of Bytecoin? on: June 02, 2017, 07:32:29 PM
Hi,

I have bought a few Monero coins recently because it was looking to be (at least to me) the more solid crypto-currency about private transaction and it was already having support from some marketplaces.

Since then my Monero coins have gained around 25% in value. So far so good. However, today I have noticed that Bytecoin has now a bigger market cap than Monero and like Monero, his primary selling point is about the privacy of transactions.

So I'm now trying to find the reason that explains the sudden rise of Bytecoin. Apparently it is older than Monero but his value only skyrocketed recently. What could explains this spectacular rise of Bytecoin? Could it be a good idea to switch my Monero coins for some Bytecoin?

Thanks!

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How do I find and research future ICOs? on: May 28, 2017, 05:12:22 PM
Hello,

I heard many here talking about investing (or speculating) in ICOs. So what I would like to know is:

1-Where should I look to find future ICOs? Is there a forum, a blog or a trading platform for this?

2-What are the characteristics I should looked to maximize my chance of picking some profitable ones?

3-Are there any popular and successful traders in this field that I should follow to get useful insights?

4-What is the best way to buy early when I find some that I like?

5-Is there any stats somewhere about past ICOs?

Thank you! Smiley
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Question about adding a permanent bitcoin address to my keybase.io profile on: May 10, 2017, 10:38:35 PM
I would like to add a permanent public bitcoin address to my keybase.io profile. I have seen a few well-know and trusted people doing this in the Bitcoin and FOSS community. Here's the profile of Andreas M. Antonopoulos:

https://keybase.io/aantonop

This one has even been customized with his name in the Bitcoin address. Anyway, I asked a few people and they told to just take a random receiving address from a Electrum wallet and use it as a permanent public one. They also told that it was not necessary a good idea privacy wise and even if it is possible, it should not considered standard practice. To be honest, I'm kind of confused about this. On one hand, the most well-know Bitcoin spokesman is doing this and on the other hand, it should not be recommended..?

So I hoping to get a few advanced opinions on this from some experienced Bitcoin users and guru on the forum. So what is your thoughts on this and what will be the best possible way to do this? Thanks
