1  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 16, 2013, 12:09:51 AM

Buying:

Each virtual stock will be bound with a bitcoin address for buying. To buy X shares with Y BTC each, please send X * Y + X * 0.00000001 BTC to the buying address. X cannot exceed 9999 and Y has to be dividable by 0.0001. For example, 10.00000100 represents to by 100 shares with 0.1 BTC each. The sending address is called 'buyer's address'.

This one-size-fits-all would not do for most stocks.  They really should reserve 3 bits (8 Satoshis) for a protocol version. For instance the published protocol would be modified as follows: buy by sending X*Y + (8*X+V)*.00000001 where V is the version number 0-7.  Y has to be divisible by 0.0008 instead.

Now you can have up 8 versions running at once (reasonably 4 to give yourself flexibility to evolve).  Maybe some of them would not require you to send 100 BTC to sell your shares.

... but this really needs it's own thread ...

Thanks for putting that together, redphlegm.

Nice bit of coder redphlegm.  Your insistence did make me suspicious at first, but just before John chimed in I was in a "dark dark place".  Now it just seems you're being nerdy.

I'm sure John has this covered either way.

I sold 128 of my chips to bitrocket:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=203388.msg2692039;topicseen#msg2692039

I don't know how John want's to handle this, but wouldn't it be easier to label people as "scammer" if they can't post blockchain proof of payment?

I'm just putting something together to try to track this. Unfortunately, your name isn't on the original spreadsheet, bitrocket. Can you share the original purchase name used on the GDocs spreadsheet? (see the link from post number 1 in this thread).

He's not in the spreadsheet because we posted the transaction in ryepdx's Stumptown thread (see link above), since that is where the chips were going to be sent and bitrocket wanted in on ryepdx's assembly ... and I didn't feel like involving raging.  The link above is the post from that thread that will verify the transaction.  (Either way would work since we're thinking of going 55nm with the refund).

Hi guys. I'm from the raginazn jupiter / saturn group buy.

I haven't read this thread.

Basically for us, raginazn lied, and is now gone, with no word.  Is this basically the case for you guys? Just wanted to post in case anyone didn't know about our group buy situation as well.

There are many of us in the other group buy who are very committed to getting the money back. Any of you guys here, than lets join forces.

On JohnK: I have written him PMs but not heard back, I don't know what the story is. Getting raginazn's ID released from JohnK is the best idea I can think of right now, hoping we'll respond soon (anyone know where John is)?  Then we can verify that the id does in fact belong to the person who, at this point, is looking like stole over hundred folks' money. None of us want this to stand.

Link?

256 chips abstain from voting.  My chips are split with bitrocket.  Abstaining reflects our average sentiment.  (actually it's closer to refund, but this poll may prove moot in any case)

Hey guys,

I'm here right now, meeting with prodigits7 in Boston, MA. We're currently discussing NEO-ASICs logistics information and about shipping orders. The great news is that we can start shipping out right away, as soon as the chips arrive, so there's no lag time or delays in getting these units out to everybody that wants them. He's helping me get through everything right now, including this chip situation as well as my depression which has been very hard on me. So it's good to have support and somebody else that can help out as much as he can. Also JohnK or any other moderators can confirm my current location by checking the IP address of this post.

I'm sorry again for not getting back sooner but you will be hearing from me much more often and more frequently on here. I'm gonna try to post everyday on the Blog section of NEO-ASICs website as well. You can find that here: http://neo-asics.com/blog/

Pretty fucking brazing. What a douche bag.

I'm sorry, and you are who again?  Did somebody yell, "Dogpile!" Huh  I'm sure people here appreciate that you're keeping us informed about what's happening between you and Raging in your thread.  But I think we here are grownup enough to come to our own opinions, thank you very much.

I vote for ryepdx (256 chips) for the reasons I already outlined.

I have 256 chips originally in this group buy, of which I sold half of them to bitrocket.  Both of us I believe have boards being manufactured by stumptown.

Steamboat would be my second choice.

10  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: July 25, 2013, 02:28:42 PM
Check Stumptown I guess.

It's too late in the game for me to put anything together in a timely manner, especially with the component shortages, but I might be willing to put together another assembly run if there's interest, and if everyone understands that it's going to take much, much longer for the miners in the second run to come together than it will for the miners in the first one.

Again to do a leader change we need to work with Ragin on that and John K. We would need a person we agree on that can get to the shipping location.

I saw my name mentioned earlier. I'd be willing, if voted into that office (so to speak).

Works for me Ryepdx if you are volunteering I am voting for you... maybe even if someone is there on shipping day to oversee everything even. But ya replacement needs to have Ragingazin, JohnK blessings as well as all those in the order.

Ryepdx has got my vote. And I don't see the point in waiting any longer. I would like to move on this BEFORE our order ships, which may be several days before they get to their bulk destination.  I'm sorry, but Monday feels like too much time for me.  The OP hasn't been in the picture for (about) 2 weeks, and his involvement in this thread has been sparse for a while now (though not that I'm one to talk)

I'm vested here and in Stumptown's venture and have followed both threads since the beginning.  Ryepdx has just put so much more effort.  I can't really fault Ragingasn628, as I don't know his situation, but the comfort is just not there.  I hope the best for him.  He has shown a lot of enthusiasm for the community, but obviously has other more pressing priorities right now.

What's up guys? I don't have any other news / info at this time. I actually get all my info from JohnK he has the order logins etc. I do not. I've been extremely busy with RL stuff. I'm trying to finish everything up here so that when the chips come in I can put all my time and energy into shipping them out. I also called Gary again he said the sample chips were still stuck in customs but should be cleared by Thursday...

He said they do random checks and we were one of the unlucky ones Sad

 Grin Updates make me happy.

Yes!  After all what's the point of buying things if it doesn't make us happy?

I have 128 spare chips that will be sent to ryepdx from raging that i'm willing to sell.  Anyone that needs chips for this K16 order are welcome to them at cost.  Otherwise I guess ryepdx will be sending me them with my K16s.

Interested in 128 chips, PM sent. Which batch are they from?

I'm from Ragingazn628 group by https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177994.0 .  You can look at his spreadsheet to verify this (row 22).  The chips are already being shipped here to reypdx.  I paid 20.535 BTC for 256 chips, so you can have 128 of them for 10.267 BTC at 1Fy9BFfPS614wcjaG6SoKB5tZUGC1kU48g

I'm interested in buying any chips that people were allocating to k1's. I need 14 to make a full k16. Anyone interested?

14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Batch 3 [CLOSED- Seven 4 module Avalons ordered] on: July 02, 2013, 07:09:48 AM

this sounds great but I would much rather prefer BTCT.to instead of bitfunder because of their offshore hosting/domain, their resilience to DDOS attacks, and the fact that they are an offshore registered business. Just my 2cents from my experience with trading. Overall there needs to be a poll taken about the decisions that need to be made. The good thing is that IF you get it on BTCT.to or similar, shareholders can have voting power. obviously the original investors will benefit greatly so I don't see why people wouldn't agree. The only other practical scenario I see is starting a "club" like NastyFans.org.

CH,

I'm partial to btct.CO myself, but I'm sure you are at least considering these issues.  Thanks for your hard work.  I'm still hoping this venture gets off the ground soon.

Assuming the majority votes to go with revision 1 of the board and not wait for an overclockable version, yes.

sounds good, revision 1 for sure (difficulty curve vs waiting for overclocking is a wash at best)

any savings you get on costs you can keep as a tip from my order if all goes as planned

Just chiming in.  I'm also partial to version 1

You should have my order to: 16 k16 from 256 from Ragin.

All those supporting BKK please let me know and we can all support the shipping cost equally. Please give us a wallet address for shipping costs for BKKCoins only Raging.... also Noitev we can reimburse you later if you like as we all should really split that shipping cost fairly.

I pledge whatever amount of chips I am supposed to be allotted to BKKCoins and I will keep track in this post. Please tell us what the shipping costs to Thailand will be?

Pledged Chips to BKK

Bicknellski (540)
Noitev (592)
bigbeninlondon (20)
Vycid (128.21)
bassclef (95)
erschiessen (51.28)
Kushedout (300)
pierrejo (69.72)
SteveB (40)
dan99 (68.36)

Total 1904.57

1904.57 / 10000 chips = 0.190457

0.190457 x 30 =  5.71371 (6) sample chips

We need to PM BKKCoins and coordinate shipping ASAP he can actually use even 1 chip if possible right now. Anyone else pledging chips for BKKCoins do so soon and let others know about it so we can get him more.

I will be supporting ryepdx's west coast board manufacturing effort, so in line with this my sample chips should go to BKK.  I haven't been able to make heads or tails of the sample chip calculation.  I've got an order here for 256 chips, so that gives me ... half a chip?

Very Interested in throwing my hat in the ring for some combination of k16s and k64s totaling 256 chips from Ragin's 1st chip group buy.
19  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy#1] Avalon ASICs CHIPS! Using JohnK as escrow! FINISHED! on: May 25, 2013, 08:05:56 PM

I'll be ordering a couple 16-chip boards and a 64-chip board for my own needs from an assembler in California, getting them ready before the chips arrive. If you guys are interested, I can start a group thread for PCBs from the California assembler.

Interested.

Also interested: potentially 4x 64 chip boards.
20  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Community Exchange w/ Options, DRIP, 2FA, API, CSV, etc. on: May 23, 2013, 11:09:31 PM

I think someone mentioned before that it probably should be displayed the other way around.

Strike - Premium = Price, instead of what it is right now with Strike + Premium = Price

There's a few places I need to fix that.

Wut???

Those two statements aren't equivalent.
