Identity on blockchain. WHat is the difference between the persona project and civic? anything you are improving on?
Persona is not a "login with facebook/civic" like. Persona is about all your details and you being in control over them. You control who has access to what details of yours.
Persona is about fighting fake news or securing IoT devices, or building a reputation system. Person is about every interaction someone would have with a third party.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Persona - Your Own Digital Self on: December 29, 2017, 08:03:48 PM
Everywhere. The verification has two elements. The first one is a community check, where I check you and you check me (this can be done virtually everywhere in the world). The community verification can bring your verification up to 90%. For the rest on 10% depends on the area you live. For example, in Belgium, the government issues ID is a smart card(Estonia the same). If you would have a Belgian ID you could be 100% verified by inserting the smart card in your already present smart card reader. If you are in a different area, you might need to make a 1 USD/EUR transfer to verify that the name on the bank statement is the same with the one in the documents uploaded on Persona blockchain and the ID and the face of teh people that is in front of the verifier.

Hello,

Why this ANN is from yesterday but at the site is written that pre-ICO started 12 days ago?
And if it\s really started on 15th Dec, how much money do you collected until now?

Thanks
We just updated the website. The pre-sale starts on January 1st and ends on January 31st.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Persona - Your Own Digital Self on: December 29, 2017, 07:40:35 PM
You upload your files(documents, copies of your ID) on an IPFS implementation over Persona blockchain. They are encypted by the blockchain itself using your private key.
Let's suppose you want to sign up for a contract with a new mobile carrier. You have your identity checked on Persona blockchain. What the mobile carrier staff will do will issue a request to have read access to your details. They will generate a QR code that you scan with your phone and you'll see that X company is requesting access to your date birth, address and ID. You'll sign with your private key and give access to your uploaded documents on Persona blockchain to see if the person they have in front is the same with the person from the documents. And that's all.
Every companyy that has an onboarding process they have just to make sure that the person they have in front of their eyes is the same with the person of which documents they are checking.

There are some minor changes poping out.Check the header on blog.lisk.io .

@Jannn, thanks.

can confirm now that it is working with new nano v1.0.0 to vote and unvote in one step spending 1 LSK
and here: https://lisk.builders you can find delegates actively contributing to lisk either by code or by doing activities that directly benefit the platform in a BIG way.
By voting the freelancer ones, you participate in the Lisk 1st lottery.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 26, 2017, 10:55:15 AM
So many delegates promotion, but how can i still cant choose because there are still questions on my mind on how to do DPOS. Maybe can you enlighten me.

Once I vote, can i shutdown my computer and disconnect from my wallet?
How long will my vote be valid? Do i need to vote again after a week or month?
Your lisk are residing on the blockchain.You can chose lisk nano(desktop client) or wallet.lisk.io to vote.
You can vote 33 delegates at ince,costing you 1 lisk.You have 101 votes available.so if you want to spend all your votes,you'll spend 3 lisks.
If you decide to use official lisk web wallet: https://wallet.lisk.io you just have to ise your passphraee ,go to forging option,then delegates, and search for the delegates you want to vote. Select the delegates you want to vote for and press vote.
No need to worry about computer or anything.Just keep safe the passphrase.

Lisk Core 0.9.0 will be available today, in 4-5 hours from now.
In the mean time, don't forget to participate in first Lisk raffle by voting Isabella, atreides, wannabe_rotebaron

w=543&s=b9a7f5763139c140d4bc9f0df4dadf51[/img][/center]

such a drama free begging for votes. you have my vote. and i hope that i win a few coins.
I hope you would win too.
We're are not begging for votes because we want too. We are asking for votes because we want to continue our efforts in supporting lisk. All three of us have been around since beginning, isabella ended by being part of lisk team, wannabe discovered some security holes and I'm Lisk Ambassador for Romania.
It's sad, that valuable people end to beg for votes, but it is what it is.We need to adapt. I would have been happier to have the community supporting my efforts (since all of them are public) .

Thank you for your vote.

Guys I've never been interested at all about voting etc. probably because I don't have the technical knowledge to become a delegate. I preferred to spend my time understanding other aspects of the cryptoworld.
So can you please explain me in a very simple way how voting works?
Let's say I have 1000 LSK stored on a wallet. What can I do with it? What kind of return on investment can I expect in the short, middle, long term?
Thanks in advance for your explanation.
There is a pool calculator that offers you an approximate amount of what your reward would be if you vote for pools. If you're looking for quantifiable rewards.
You can also vote and thus support hard working delegates, that even if they are not sharing as pools do, they are working hard on making your stake in lisk more valuable than a few more coins. Maybe the best answer is to vote for pools and hard working delegates, to get the best of two worlds.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 22, 2017, 12:31:00 PM
Quick question: let say I got 20k of lisk, if I vote for 4 delegates is this mean, each of them receives 5k worth of votes?
Follow this logic, if one them payout 90% only the 5K will part of this share and the rest of my votes 15k get zero if others delegates don't share their stake?

thanks

Let say you have 1000 LSK.
You have to spend 1 LSK for max 33 delegates vote.
So each of the 33 delegates will receive (1000-1) 999 votes.

Please consider voting for a real, great and bankable delegate : LiskPro.com

liskpro,your example is wrong. In the case he would like to use his all 101 votes, this means that he will spend only 3 lisk (even if there are scripts available to vote more than 33 once) and he would have voted for all the pools, and the amount of the rewards would have be higher than voting just for you.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 22, 2017, 07:12:34 AM
Feeling lucky?
You have the chance to test that feeling by voting lisk hardcore delegates:Isabella, atreides, Wannabe_rotebaron and win in LISK first raffle. Once you vote, you have a chance to win one of the 3 prizes of our raffle: 1st draw: 1500 Lisk(~4500 USD); 2nd draw: 900 Lisk(~2700 USD); 3rd draw: 600 Lisk (~1800 USD) .
Each month, by end of month, we will use random.org to draw 3 lucky winners using the addresses that vote for us.
We are long time time delegates, Isabella is part of lisk team, atreides is Romanian Lisk Ambassador and wannabe_rotebaron is an IT security penetration tester.

  • Since February 2016, we developed tools, scripts, and tutorials
  • Donated for various Lisk initiatives
  • Organized meetups
  • Had Lisk as sponsor to various events like: StartupWeekend Bucharest, StartupWeekend Timisoara, JS Dev Meetups
  • Panelist at blockchain conferrences
  • Organising blockchain meetups
  • Testnet alpha team, dry running latest versions of lisk
  • Spreading the word about Lisk, sponsoring conference tickets for JS developers, buying and distributing books about developing DAPPS

*this list is not exhaustive and there are much more initiatives and actions we took in promoting lisk since ICO ended;
*the value of prizes in USD might be slightly different, depending on the lisk value at the moment of the draw. We used the USD just to give a perspective on the value of the prizes;
*no registrations required. We will use the voting history to list all the cast votes;
*to be eligible you are supposed to keep your vote for all three delegates until next draw(end of each month);
*the already casted votes are eligible;
*we will announce the winners on bitcointalk and also on lisk chat;
*you need to vote for all 3 of us;

Hi, I'm the Romanian Lisk Ambassador and I need your vote! If you haven't voted for me yet and still thinking if you should do it or not, these are main reasons why you should do it: organizing blockchain meetups, having lisk as sponsor for JS Dev's meetup in Bucharest, sponsoring tickets for JS devs at d10e conference (the first blockchain conference in Romania, took place on February 21-22, 2017), having lisk as sponsor for Startup Weekend Bucharest (between 21-23 April 2017), organizing blockchain meetups,introduced lisk on http://coss.io , sponsoring StartupWeekend Timisoara on 16-18 June (http://communities.techstars.com/romania/timisoara/startup-weekend/10963) Thank you for voting atreides, on rank 97 !

Hi there, my name is Stefan Neagu , Romanian Lisk Country Ambassador a.k.a atreides . My activities as ambassador: organising a monthly blockchain meetup, presenting Lisk as a real option in front of ~100 JavaScript Developers at Bucharest JS Meetup, sponsoring 3 tickets for JS dev's at d10e.biz, the first blockchain conference that took place in Bucharest on 21-11 February, distributing books about developing DAPPS to developers, working on presenting Lisk to enterprises as a solution for future developments for enterprise grade applications. Having Lisk as platinum sponsor for StartupWeekend, event that will take place between 21-23 April, in Bucharest.
If you appreciate my efforts, for sure I would appreciate your vote for my delegate atreides, rank 99. Also, in order to fund future events, I've created a new delegate, liskromaniapromofund, currently on 207.

Thank you, atreides Wink

i still got 30 votes left.

if you are a deligate that can tell me you are doing something right now for lisk i will vote for you.
i dont want to hear i can make apps ect. because we all know what will happen when SDK commes out. every guy on the world going to make apps as fast they can.

so what are you doing right now for lisk? thats what counts for me right now. already voted for app creators.  but what i told above i think every guy ( crypto using or not) that can make apps will create apps for lisk.

This is what I do:
Next month
As lisk country ambassdor in Romania I'm working on having Lisk as main sponsor for StartupWeekend 2017 in Bucharest.
For this effort I'm asking for donations and some of the delegates donated: atreides , bangomatic, tharude, freiheitswelle, samuray, cryptoadvisor, goldeneye, sgdias, corsaro, forrest, bitseed, liskgate, vrlc92, wannabe_rotenbarron, vipertkd, stoner, hagie, qbanow, odsejen, vi1son, digitron, bioly, MrV, polycrypto, bitbansky, hmachado.Don't be shy and vote for these delegates that help spreading the word about Lisk.

The threshold is ~20k lisk and by now I raised 9.177 lisk. If you want to contribute, feel free to donate to the liskromaniapromofund | 6613995566879771912L

The dead-line is March 23, 2017.
For more details you can check the post on lisk forum: https://forum.lisk.io/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1442. For a presentation of what is going to happen and more details about StartupWeekend ( a program supported by Google for Entrepreneurs) please see the presentation

Thank you,
Stefan Neagu aka atreides | Lisk Country Ambassador

this is what i wanted to see. im going to vote for you. thankx.

Thank you. I, myself think that this kind of actions are the only ones that can lay the foundation for a more popular Lisk, making it the blockchain technology of choice when it comes about bapps. Nothing else matters on the long run, and if you want to support this type of actions you could also vote(if not already): densmirnov, lamar, bitbansky, danvass. They are, like me, organizing meetups, sponsoring different events on behalf of lisk. Thank you.

The problem with ads right now is that when we do attract a sidechain dev or two, the most critical component is scheduled to be totally swapped out. So, the "right time" simply isn't just yet.
Indeed, the perfect time to spend on PR will be when the new SDK is released to mainnet, which is why I've put a hold on the Lisk Awareness Campaigns... Until we have an SDK! They have begun coding it by the way...  (Conceptualization phase) they are actively writing blocks of code.
I know daytraders don't like hearing that, but like our fearless wizardess Isabella says "we're here for the MARATHON, not for the sprint."  Cheesy
It will be something special, that much we can count on. The team is sporting some pretty hefty talent.
..looking into the crystal ball... I see Lisk making Ethereum look like the mess it really is within a year.

On 21-22 February I was at some blockchain conference in Bucharest. There were a lot of devs working on eth. Doing things for their own. There was some canadian dev that he had developed his own app on eth so he could by starbucks coffe with btc. While starbucks coffe can't be bought with btc, you can buy giftcards with btc. So he was buying giftcards and then spent them to starbucks shop for coffe. And he had an app for that. He was saying that eth was great enough for him to develop his app. So eth was good enough for him and that's great.He was not a supporter of ETH but eth was the "vehicle" he used to solve his problem.
In order to have lisk seen as an option for devs, people need to know about lisk. So, I , personally see these PR efforts ok even if it's still on its early days.

Keep us informed about the contest or any other PR campaigns. Like eitecstrike already said, PR is important. Would like to contribute my time to the community and project.

@MrPresident the thing is that most of the people don't have a deep understanding of blockchain technology or what they can do with it (if we are talking about developers) or how blockchain technology can help (if we are talking about average Joe).
I've been talking about lisk in front of 150 JS dev's on 21st February. 2-3 people knew something, while the rest were "blank". That's why I offered them 10 books about what DAPPS are.
While lisk might not be ready for DAPPS, is ready to learn more and get accustomed with what blockchain is about. The way I see it, right now, the PR activities are meant to spread the word about Lisk and to know that there is "life after ethereum". That there is an option that should be taken into consideration. Thta's all. Is like a warm-up.

Stefan Neagu aka atreides | Lisk Country Ambassador

A great initiative.
This is what an Lisk Ambassador should do, that brings real results to spread Lisk Platform and make it great.
I also donated some LSK and I will support this initiative via Twitter.

Wait just a second here... there must be a typo or three.
I myself sent 500 lisk weeks ago to this great effort, although I'm not listed https://explorer.lisk.io/tx/4588208836670588606
and with all the donating delegates listed, only 9.177 lisk were collected? Uuuhm... sharpen that pencil plz!  Cheesy
It must be 9,177.0 right?

and the link you listed goes nowhere

Searching Google for Lisk Romania results in this lisk post:
https://forum.lisk.io/viewtopic.php?t=472
atraides is usually much more "on top of the mission"... maybe he was up late  Tongue

You are right. It was 2 am when I posted that. Modified the link and updated the list of donors. and updated the amount raised till now. You know, is hard to keep up with the donors, so from time to time I check the list and update it.
