Thank you for the thought provoking comment.

To give you a for instance, say your country democratic or otherwise decided to borrow a lot of money(perhaps to pay for a war you do not believe in) and they pay it back by printing it out of thin air.  This would make your money less valueable and be in a way a hidden tax.  Theorically bitcoin would give you the ability to vote with your pocket book and dump your country's soon to be worthless currency. Thus freedom from state controlled monetary policy.

I'm really enjoying the price stability the past few days.  If it continues I do think it will be quite good for bitcoin adoption.  As the market is typically extremely volitile it does make me think that there are people who are creating the stability intentionally.  If so, keep up the good work.  Do others think this as well?

6  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Havelockinvestments.com: Who are they and why would anyone trust them? on: April 05, 2013, 06:35:03 PM
I have a small account with Havelockinvesting.  I recently had trouble logging in(turns out it was my fault).  Anyway I called the phone number and a representative helped me resolve my issue.  Thank you for the top quality customer service Havelock!

9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Review of S.DICE on: March 24, 2013, 05:57:39 AM
I just speculated on a few shares of S.Dice!  Bitcoins are awesome.  As a non voting share holder I do have one suggestion to S.Dice.  Expand your offerings.  You have an great product with a lot of traffic, why not try to capture more of the market?  Maybe you could sell 30% more of the company and hire developers to build a full service gambling website.  Your investors would love you for it.  Just my tow bits, thanks and keep up the good work!
10  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Warning - Do not use Coinbase! on: March 23, 2013, 12:29:05 AM
I am having a similar problem.  I made two transfers, one on the 19th and one on the 21st of March and they are still "pending".  I am definitely going to close my account if I every get my coins out.  I'm starting fear that the website will disappear soon.  It would be great if someone from Coinbase could reply to this tread and let us all know what the hell is going on.

12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does bitcoin idea has a future, or will it get banned by governments? on: March 12, 2013, 10:59:51 PM
In freer countries bitcoin will be allowed to exist as long as it stays fairly small.  In more totalitarian countries I see bitcoin getting banned very quickly.  I think China already banned a different digital currency.  The ability of a country to print its own money is very powerful.  This allows a government to run an account deficit for quite a while.  This only works as long as the citizen keep their wealth in that currency.

Great video about bitcoins.  Near the end of the video the speaker brings up a major issue in that the open transaction record will make adoption of bitcoins by industry very difficult.  Large companies will not want transaction history public.  What do others think of this problem?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long do you think the banking system will take to publicly invest on bitcoin on: March 11, 2013, 11:36:29 PM

If you have a need to be allowed into the forum beyond before you have completed the required 5 posts and 4 hours logged in, please post your request here. You must provide evidence that shows that you either understand more about Bitcoin than the average newbie, or that what you want to post can only be done in another forum. Reasons such as "I'm not a spammer" will be ignored. Try to be as specific as possible.

If you learned of Bitcoin through a currently established member of this forum who feels that you are ready to be released to the rest of the forum or who is willing to mentor you, or if you want to make a new account that is separate from your already-existing established forum account, have the existing user/account vouch for you after you have made your request.

If you are asking to be whitelisted because you are having a problem with something, we generally look more favorably on people who have already attempted to solve their issue in the Newbie board. Even if you end up not qualifying for preemptive whitelisting, your post might still qualify for being moved to another board if you have received insufficient help after a few hours.

Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.

Please note: If you see "Jr. Member" by your name, you have already met the 5 posts and 4 hour requirements and don't need to post here. Additionally, after you meet the requirements, it can take up to 10 minutes for your account to be automatically upgraded.
