Do you have any reasoning behind your prediction other than owning bitcoins? It would be helpful to include that in your post.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: April 12, 2013, 06:28:21 AM

I know not to expect massive improvements like that to happen overnight. I do expect my single, small order to be completed over the course of two nights.

People are selling btc all over the place now, you guys can't find 1.5-2 of them for me?

C'mon URSAY, level with me here.  What's the problem?

Come on dude. You're freaking out over 2 days. It's been 2 weeks for me. $400.    $85/btc when I placed my order...

I'll be honest with you; I don't care about your order.

I'm here complaining at the level I am because I don't want to be like you 2 weeks from now with now btc. In situations like this, the longer you wait, the more fucked you are.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and I plan on flooding EVERYBODY at bitinstant with complaints until I get what I paid for. If you were smart, you'd do the same so you don't have to wait another 2 weeks.
I absolutely agree. They bought me off with enough money to give me what I should have originally gotten from them when I called them scammers in the scammer forum. They did it in a way to look like they were being crazy generous when, in reality, all they were giving me what I would have received if their service had worked properly to begin with.

It's a shame, too, because they're the easiest way to get USD onto bitstamp.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bubble crash @ 100$ Summer of 2013? on: April 03, 2013, 10:48:48 PM
Seems like BitCoin and LiteCoin is crashing now - BTC down from 147 to 100 (32%) and LTC from 6$ to 3,7$ (38%).
If the downtrend continues for several days/weeks we will probably end up with BTC down 80% and LTC down 90% from ATH.
Two hours later and it has rebounded to 120.

I would wager that these quick price dips are people sitting on piles of coins who think to themselves, "Welp, if I cash out now, I can have 500k. Good enough for me."
4  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitinstant False Advertising - Scam on: March 28, 2013, 12:03:49 AM
Hey,

We are not a scam, we simply take a little longer to respond, and Im sorry for that.

You gave us $100, I just processed your order for $200.

Do you mind updating the topic of this thread?

Im sorry for your issue and the delay, I think this compensation is fair.

Charlie
Thank you for acknowledging me.

Bitinstant,

On 3/18, when the BTC/USD exchange rate was $47, I transferred $100 from Dwolla to Mt. Gox, which worked out to be about $98 after your fee was taken. Although the money was taken from my Dwolla account immediately, I have yet to receive a deposit in my Mt. Gox account. In the interim, I have watched the exchange rate climb by 25%. The quote ID for this event is "de7e22f0-0275-4f84-a054-7855d4d63419".

On 3/19, I saw the prices rising and, giving you guys the benefit of the doubt, I once again attempted to use your service to transfer an additional $100 from my Dwolla account to Bitstamp. Again, although the money was taken from me immediately, no funds have shown up in my Bitstamp account. The quote ID for this event was "12521b67-9a79-4661-9dfa-9b8f6d74d537"

I have emailed you, attempted to use the live chat, and posted in your support thread and have not received a single reply yet. I feel like I've been robbed and have just sat here watching the value of my USD plummet relative to BTC. I do not understand why all of my attempts to resolve the disappearance of $200 have been ignored. Any help and a reply would be highly appreciated.

I am still awaiting the deposit in my Bitstamp account.

To date, I have still received zero communication from Bitinstant. When will I be informed on what happened with my money? When will I receive payment to my Bitstamp account? Will I be compensated for losses due to the failure of your service to work as described? Why should I ever use your service again?
So, I received an email 4 days ago in response to this exact post that I emailed in saying that my order had been processed. I only received the funds in my Mt. Gox account, not my Bitstamp account.

Moreover, Yankee mentioned that compensation would be provided. Is this a lie? If not, how and when will such compensation be provided? This has all been extremely frustrating.
I HAVE STILL YET TO RECEIVE ANY SORT OF AN EXPLANATION FROM YOU GUYS. I HAVE BEEN VERY PATIENTLY WAITING FOR WELL OVER A WEEK NOW. WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY MONEY AND IN WHAT MANNER WILL I BE COMPENSATED FOR LOST MONEY DUE TO DELAYS OUTSIDE OF THE CONTRACT OFFERED ON YOUR END? I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN ROBBED. THE PRICE OF BITCOIN HAS DOUBLED AND I HAVE LOST HALF OF MY VALUE BECAUSE OF INEPTITUDE AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE ON YOUR END. THIS IS MY LAST POST IN HERE BEFORE A DETAILED EXAMINATION OF YOUR SERVICE IN A DEDICATED POST IN A VISIBLE BOARD. YOU HAVE STOLEN $100 FLAT OUT FOR OVER A WEEK AND HAVE DESTROYED AN ADDITIONAL $150 IN VALUE OF MINE.

I AM BEGGING YOU TO RESPOND AND RETURN MY MONEY. WHY HAS IT COME TO THIS POINT? WHY IS THE BEST HOPE OF HEARING ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON LOCATED IN THE NEWBIES SECTION OF A 3RD PARTY WEBSITE? WHY ARE WE IN THE DARK ABOUT WHAT IS ACTUALLY GOING ON?

TIME IS MONEY

HOW LOUD DO I HAVE TO BE FOR YOU TO RESPOND YANKEE?

TIME IS MONEY

I have yet to receive a single bit of communication regarding what is going on with them. Their messages are cryptic and nonspecific in their newbie thread. I have watched bitcoin soar to $88 today from the $40s when I gave these people my money. Don't give your money to these people. There is a constant stream of people with unprocessed transactions posting in their thread in the newbie area, and who knows how many more that don't know to post there.

I will not go away until I get my money back.

They say "time is money" and they've had my $100 for well over a WEEK and they haven't given it to me. Other people have posted problems being created and "resolved" during that week. What the hell happened to my money?

I don't even care if they give it to the bitstamp account or just refund my Dwolla - I just want my fucking money back. [/size]

I won't be cashing out. I'll be paying for my apartment in bitcoins.

Hello, I deposited money into my Mt. Gox account yesterday and despite being told that the funds would be available within one hour, my money is nowhere to be found. I am a bit distressed at the disappearance of my money. I've been watching the price of bitcoin climb during the last day and am concerned about the money that I am losing due to the rising price.

Edit: I transferred an additional $100 to bitstamp that is also missing. I can not afford to have $200 taken from me. ):

I have been familiar with bitcoin for at least a year and a half at this point, and am finally getting my behind in the market.

I would eventually like to build an automated trading node and have some questions that I would like to post in the appropriate forums. May I please have my restrictions lifted?
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: March 07, 2013, 05:06:28 AM
I told all of my friends to buy in December but didn't put my money where my mouth is. I am kicking myself now.

I almost bought $500 at 47 today like an idiot but realized that it was probably a bubble. I subsequently watched it drop to $35 and was so happy that I did not buy so high. When I tried to buy at $35, I couldn't find a service that would let me make a purchase order. I would have made a purchase around there and after watching it climb again, I have vowed not to be unprepared again.

Eventually, I would like to have my own server dedicated to making purchase orders and possibly running algorithms for automatic training. I will learn whatever languages/skills necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions for resources to point me in the right direction?
