As u can see two GPUs connected to the board x16.
The third card i connect via USB riser to 1x between the two GPUs on Board.

When i turn on the PC on the fan of third GPU do not go on > this http://imgur.com/a/Vv69p
What can be the Problem?

System
Win7 64Bit
MSI Z97 Gaming 5
Intel Celeron 2x2,8GHZ 8Gb
3 ASUS r9 280 3GB
1x be quiet 700W
1x be quiet 550W

USB Riser:https://www.amazon.de/ELEGIANT-Express-Extender-Adapter-Mining/dp/B01HHLQRBK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482527358&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+riser

I very appreciate every help. Hopefully can find the issue. Thank you in advance

which OS are u using ?
Does it recognise all cards correctly?

im using Win 7 64 Bit. I think it has detect it. When the destop show up it began to install the driver but i check the device manager after restart show nothing new.The 3rd GPU is working like the other two. Power and fan is on. May i have missed something?

Is the video cable plugged into the new installed GPU?

yes i delete AMD software to reinstall the drivers again with Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition Graphics Driver Installer for Windows 7 64-Bit. The output is on the new GPU wich i connect with a USB riser adapter to the PCI-e(nearest to the cpu)

Update: Treibers installed, Screen connect to new GPU but GPU cant be seen anywhere..

Hi all,

today my 3rd GPU arrived so i connect the third one via usb Riser to the PCI ex 1x. Now the Gpus connect to PCI express 1x Pci express x16 an pci express x4.  After i jump the Mainboard the fans went on and i proceed to setup the system. I open the Nicehash Miner to see how many GPU are detected. I  see only 2 of 3 GPUs. Why it cant detect/show the third gpu unit? Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

7950=280
7970=280x

What do you mean with 7950/ 7970? Sorry for the nooby question. Im still learning..

280=280x

Efficiency is exactly the same since its the exact same GPU chipset.

Since your power is expensive you need to buy the 470/480.

I have no idea why the 280x getting lower Hasrate on both of the Algos.. Huh

Thank you, i will look for..maybe in the distant future.. Smiley

Did u power the 280x properly ?

got a stable be quite 700Watt PSU system onboard. I tried default and a few different Setting. GPU tweak settings: clock 980Mhz, GPU V (min) 1119mV, and power target (min) so 80% the results with this profile, i post before..

In this thread below this guy came to the same conlusion.
https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/7661/mining-with-r9-280x-and-r9-280

I will proceed with the 280s. the third one is on the way  Smiley..

This week i set up a Mining rig with on low budget (450USD). In the last days i read some threads about effiency and power consumption from
Itīs not the most effiency rig but i think its acceptable for the moment. I check the WhatToMine - Crypto coins mining calculator to check the Profit. Power Costs at 0.19USD. With that factor i make 0.6 USD profit/day.
I use a Asus R9 280 Direct CU 2 and a Asus R9 280X Direct CU 2 until 2 days.
I notice that the 280 is more efficient than 280x, so i sell the 280x an order a second Asus R9 280 Direct CU 2 for under 110USD. The 280 come up with a better Speedrate by less power consumption.

My actual system:      Gigabyte 970A
                              AMD FX4100 / 8 GB Ram
                              2x Asus R9 280 Direct CU 2

   Algo/speed/Watt:    cryptonight (dwarfpool) / 1.2kh/s - 340Watt                       ><
                               Equihash (Supernova zcash Pool)    / 400h/s  - 400Watt

What do you think about this Setup and the power consumption? For comparison: What are your results with 2GPUs? Is this System an efficient system?

Thank you in advance,

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Add Algos to Nicehash Miner on: December 09, 2016, 12:55:53 PM
Dear Community,

in the last days i install the Nicehash Miner on my Windows 7 System(AMD fX4100, Asus R9 280).

Everything works fine the Nicehash Miner GUI show the components correctly after update the last drivers:

The CPU(actually mining with 150h/s on cryptonight) and GPU(190h/s mining equihash) work fine. I do the benchmark test but there are only a few algorithms.

Here are the algos which are listened in Nicehash Miner Benchmark:

Available Algos for Cpu:

Available Algos for Gpu:

In other videos like this one from I Mine Blocks : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlL6KyfK7PI

there are a lot of other algos which i can select. I notice that he run a Intel System. Is that the answer?

Are Algos like x11 , x13, x15, the blacke256īs, qubit, keccak, quark etc. are not listened, because of running on AMD System?

may i have missed something?

Thank you very much, i really appreciate..

BTC,
