You mean Bitcoin Halving!!! why did not say in full hahahah
|
|
|
What I mean is how much of the current hash is s19 M30 and so on
|
|
|
Yep. Pretty much. The upcoming 1/2ing will probably shake out many marginal-profit operations but I also expect that much of their newer hardware will be resold to the survivors....
what is the upcoming 1/2ing?

I'm seeking to gain a deeper understanding of the Bitcoin mining landscape, specifically regarding the hardware that's driving the global hash rate. As we know, different models of mining machines vary greatly in terms of efficiency, power consumption, and hash rate contribution. Here are my questions:
Dominant Mining Models: Which models of mining machines currently dominate the Bitcoin network's hash rate? Are there specific models that are disproportionately contributing to the hash rate compared to others? Manufacturer Dominance: Are certain manufacturers' models more prevalent in contributing to the global hash rate? If so, which manufacturers, and what makes their models so effective? Shifts in Model Popularity: Have there been any notable shifts in the popularity of specific models over recent years? What factors (such as advancements in technology, changes in electricity costs, etc.) are influencing these shifts?
Understanding which models are most influential in the Bitcoin mining network will provide valuable insights into the current dynamics and future trends of mining hardware. I appreciate any information or experiences you can share on this topic.
Thank you for your time and knowledge!

I'm exploring the topic of global hash rate distribution in Bitcoin mining and am looking for resources or insights from those knowledgeable in this area. Specifically, I'm interested in:
Current Global Hash Rate Distribution: * Is there a resource or study that shows how the Bitcoin network's hash rate is distributed globally? * What are the current trends or notable changes in this distribution? Dominance of Certain Countries or Regions: * Are there any reports or data sources that detail which countries or regions currently have the highest hash rate contribution? * What factors (like energy costs, regulations, technology) are influencing this?
Any actual links, studies, articles, or personal insights on these points would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current state of hash rate distribution across the globe and its influencing factors.
Thank you all in advance for your help and contributions!

Simple - 1st find areas that can provide massive amounts of cheap power and make long-term contracts with the power companies. Then use investors money to constantly upgrade equipment and expand their operations. Of course it is a vicious cycle as their ever increasing hash rate just makes diff go higher...
So is a never ending operation?

Hey Bitcointalk Community,
With the hash rate of Bitcoin constantly climbing, I'm curious about how large-scale miners manage to stay profitable. What specific strategies or techniques are they using to cope with the increased competition and maintain their edge? Any insights or examples would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Firmware Versions: Which firmware versions have you found most effective for models like M3x, M5x, or the M30 series?
Stock firmware works great, it's free and probably does everything else you expect to find in custom firmware. Overclocking: For those who have tried overclocking with custom firmware, what has been your experience in terms of benefits and risks?
You could perform overclocking using the stock firmware.
Unlike Bitmain's stock firmware, Whatminer's firmware is features-rich, you can do plenty of things with it, besides your normal low, normal, and high modes, and you could actually set a certain power limit for the miner to use, this feature is available on M30 and higher (M20 and below only has the average 3 mining modes). Even if you want to go with immersion cooling, you could use the dedicated firmware for that reason, which they will provide for free. which stock firmware?
