Takk for tips.

Thanks, I should have spotted that myself, but I was looking for a create command... I've only done this through the QT version long time ago...

How can I create an address/account using the command line of bitcoind or some other non-GUI way?

Malmo Sturup, Sweden    15.10.2013    8:53   Pkg delay-add'l security check by Gov't or other agency- beyond UPS control

uhh, this is really bad luck.( as far as I know, you are from EU and your country is part of Shengen (same for Sweden) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area

I really don't understand this..

Schengen is not about trade or shipping goods. Schengen is where a person can travel without being required to show a passport upon entry. A country, like the UK, can be a member of the EU but not Schengen.

What happened to labcoin? The webpage at http://labcoin.com/ still says "Launch est. Aug./Sept. 2013"

Always finding new ways to save electricity.

Those UV EPROM's and DIP packages brings back memories. Been a while since I've seen those.

Did KnC disclose their fab vendor and process?

To be honest, Xialla is right at least about ROI  Undecided In Ukraine 1 kw/Hour costs 0.05$, but using http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/6702612f21 I see that my ~4000$ for Saturn never go back to me  Cry So what can say people from Hawaii where 1 kw/Hour cost near 0.40$??? Roll Eyes

What if you get a free IKEA solar panel...

Birkenstock's and socks... Wow...
lol, glad I wasn't the only one to notice that. Many assembly plants wouldn't let you in the door with sandals on. And not just on grounds of taste!  Grin

The guy with the Adidas at least have some ESD straps attached to the shoes. The guy with the sandals probably have to stay out of the ESD safe zone.

When September ends last place on earth.  Cry

That should be the first timezone where there is a customer with a pending order scheduled for delivery in September.  I seem to remember that there were customers from NZ here.

this is, how mighty KNC customer service works. yesterday I asked them, if previous mail from Anna with statement, that "Your order is expected to ship towards the end of September" is still valid or not.

today:

HI,
All orders have now been sent for production and will be shipped after their completion.
Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Med vänlig hälsning  |  Best regards

...

Does anyone know:
1) If the chips have been tested on production boards.
2) If (1), why no pics/vids/specs?  Seems a bit cruel.
3) If the miners are being assembled in China or Sweden.
4) If in China, will they be tested there & be distributed to customers from China (improbable), or be shipped to Sweden first (transport & customs delays)?

Did they receive the packaged chips from the fab yet?
If yes did they pass the validation test on the first assembled unit(s)

The first browser was Mosaic I think :p. Then Netscape, then Infernal Exploder and then FailFox. Safari was still in Steve's ovary. (wow that rhymed!)

I remember I downloaded the Mosaic source code using ftp from CERN then compiled it on my SUN workstation. That was at least long before Netscape or any other browser existed.

Yeah. I don't know why they chose not to do testing. I guess they figured they'd get the chips a day or two earlier without it.

As I've mentioned before the test just takes a second to run. The infrastructure for running the tests are already in the fab. My reply to the question was that they could spend some time generating the STIL file and hire somebody else to do the rack assembly for a few hours.

And you are supposing that OrSoc, who is responsible for doing the chip production and testing, isn't clever enough to have thought of doing something like that?

According to this thread they have clearly stated that they will not run test patterns on the chip tester.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 25, 2013, 05:12:20 AM
Sorry, but what else should they be doing in their spare time?

Generate test patterns for the chip tester in the fab (STIL or WGL). It should only take a few hours to generate files with a pretty high coverage due to the nature of a miner. That way they would only get passing chips and have a higher confidence in the ASICs they mount on their PCB's.

*If* that's the case, they will probably arrange clearance ahead of time by informing customs as to the exact nature of their goods.

You are required to send a prior notification according to Swedish customs: http://www.tullverket.se/innehallao/f/foranmalanavvaror/foranmalanavvaror/summariskinforseldeklaration.4.746caaf2118a74da0328000192.html

The shipping/courier companies will take care of this for you. If you bring the commercial merchandise you have to make sure you do it yourself. Again, hopefully KnC have already done this. If not there's still time to do it.

The more important bit of info from this is that, as believed by some of us here to begin with, KNC is having folks physically transport the chips during these transits, in order to bypass customs delays.

In my experience it's not always optimal to do things different than the regular procedure as you will deal with people which have no experience on how to handle the situation.

What will the Arlanda customs officers do when someone arrives with a huge box of heavily packaged commercial merchandise worth thousands of dollars sealed in foil? They are used to search for drugs, alcohol, and other stuff among dirty underwear. What if they insists on keeping it for further inspection? Or what if they open the sealed bags and you have to re-bake the chips and get another delay?

Hopefully they have checked out this in advance.
