Pre-paid USPS Small flat-rate box.  Email sent with details and signature.

Thanks!!

If we want to generate our own, say, flat-rate USPS label, would pm-ing you a PDF of the label work?  If not, what do you prefer?

I have nothing but good things to say about your service (2x past buyer), but even for 2 units it makes more sense to buy my own label.

I hope more people do that, since you really do not need to spend btc on shipping with this method  Grin

I'm writing up some basic instructions to add to OP... you will essentially download that pdf label from usps and email it to canary.btc@gmail.com
in the body of the email, you will have 4 things:
1. transaction id of your order
2. 1st payment address of the transaction
3. tracking number (no spaces)
4. Signature (your will sign ONLY the tracking # from item #3)

additionally, if you use this method, you no longer need to PM me shipping address as a signed message.  trying to make things simpler for all.

I will check that the tracking number in item 3 matches the label exactly.

Prompt and detailed responses...now that's customer service Wink

I'll have to get an account on USPS.com, but you can count on some more coming my way!  Thanks!

card #1 and card #4 have hit 700kH/s!!!  Needed g 2 option.

However it hurts the performance of card #2 and #3 listed above in the case of #2 it crashed everything.

What thread concurrencies are you using for #2 and #3?  Try 8192 as #1 and #4.

I wish it would work it does not.  cgminer crashes on the 3rd card I listed when changing -g 2.  The second card is slower with 8192, g2.

Sorry I have nothing else, then.  Glad two of them are performing better, though Wink

I only have two 7970s so my experience is limited.  I've just been trying to mention the -g2 option because it seems that many are unaware of or have not tried it.  Compared to GPU BTC mining, GPU LTC mining sucks.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7970 will only mine at 550khash at stock clocks - Lower when OC'ed - HELP on: April 12, 2013, 01:25:41 AM
I just wanted to add my BTC0.02.  As it has been mentioned, for those new to this, you must work through the settings on your own.  I have two (supposedly) identical 7970s and they can't operate at the same clocks, but get nearly the same rates.

I have 2x Gigabyte 7970 OC edition, model GV-R797OC-3GD.  One at 1054/1500, the other at 1070/1500.  For both, --thread-concurrency=8192, -g2, and -I13  (cgminer 2.11.3, ubuntu 12.10, Catalyst 13.1 and SDK 2.8 ).  I'm getting 745 kHash/s and 750 kHash/s, respectively.  These two cards do seem to be different, as the first is locked at 1.170V and the second at 1.110V.  Well, they might not be voltage locked, but cgminer isn't able to change voltages.

Again, these settings probably won't work (exactly) for you, but they might be a good staring place as they aren't too aggressive.

The main point of my post is to say that -g2 should be tried on the poorly performing 7970s, also with lower thread concurrencies.  No matter what I do, I can't get either of my 7970s above 600 khps when attempting -g1 and high thread concurrencies.  On any version of cgminer that I've used, these settings produce nearly the exact same results.

(edited for spelling)
yeah of course. The clocks card can achieve are extremely variable factor, but I hold my point that in general, same clock/ clock ratio will often deliver similar results

I can't really agree or disagree (though my apologies for sounding as though I did disagree).  I suspect that your statement holds for same manufacturer/model cards, but not necessarily between manufacturers, even in the same series.

While this is a limited sample size, I also have an MSI Twin Frozr 7950 and an XFX Double D? 7950.  The XFX can do 1150/1750 for 680 khps and the MSI goes unstable at any memclocks past 1500.  My best settings with the MSI are 1080/1500 for 625 khps.

For the "bad" performing card(s), have you tried using smaller thread concurrencies and two threads?  That is, --thread-concurrency=8192, -g2, -I13?

I have two Gigabyte 7970 GV-R797OC-3GD cards and can't get the high-concurrency, single-thread, settings to work.  With every version of cgminer that I've used in the 2.11.x releases, the above settings give ~750 khps.

I know this is not exactly what you were looking for, but from what I've seen, not many people are trying similar settings.  I'm curious if it works for anyone else.

12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [wanted] TP-Link 703n boot from USB-Flash on: April 08, 2013, 12:54:09 AM
You shouldn't have to build OpenWrt.  Check out the wiki: http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr703n

Also, here is a terrific, image-documented guide for flashing (and deciphering the Chinese interface): http://www.madox.net/blog/projects/tp-link-tl-wr703n/

I used the images from openwrt.org, not any listed on the madox.net site.

I have several of these, all v1.6.  You might need to pop open the case and look for some internal markings/stickers to verify the version number or check the build version listed in the Chinese firmware.

I can't provide any assistance related to the Avalons, and I'm surely not anything more than a casual user of OpenWrt, but I'll try to answer any more questions that you might have.

Confirmation of the initial low-payout worries. If you've never mined on PPLNS pools, it can be a bit nerve-wracking at first (as little to no payments are received).
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best litecoin pool? on: April 06, 2013, 05:33:03 AM
p2pool.  Switched two days ago and seeing mining rewards flow in with no disconnects/failovers is fantastic.  Now all I have to worry about is my fiber connection.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please explain how TX ID results in "No such transaction" on blockexplorer.com? on: April 04, 2013, 10:00:46 PM
Glad to help.  I'm working on a presentation like this to explain Bitcoin and the payment process to generally non-technical folks.  Any feedback?

Thanks again for the explanation.  After mulling things over today I think it was your simple explanation of the p2p network that cleared things up for me.  I now want to learn a bit more of the technical details of p2p networks, but that's for another day.  As you essentially confirmed, my understandings of mining and transaction fees wasn't too far off, it was just the part about "where" the unconfirmed transactions existed.

As far as feedback.  I've tried to draw on my experiences with the non-technical peoples in my family and can envision a couple of questions.  I hope they can provoke some thought for your presentation.

1.  "So these miners can pick to not include my transaction if they don't want to?"
--> Your answer for me was perfectly clear as I was already aware of transaction fees.  But, I can forsee some asking about how the fee is set, who sets it, etc.  This might be a good place to add that the "network" agrees upon the rate.  Right now it's X Btc, next month it could be agreed to be Y Btc.  If enough of the participants "decide" upon a change, then eventually the miners will move in step.  (This could also go the other way).  Also, even though you can set a default rate, sometimes you might be asked to vary it, as I've noticed a few times.  Finally, because I can also hear some balking at the idea of including a processing fee, which can initially seem counter-intuitive to the idea of a decentralized currency.  But, even at the current default rate of 0.0005 Btc, that fee is only ~$0.07 (using $135 exchange).  Compare that to Visa/MC/Amex fees or Paypal.

2.  "Why can a block only be so big?"  "Who/what determines the size?"

3. In-line with the reason for my post yesterday, "What happens if I forget to include a transaction fee?"  --> Your post from yesterday generally covers this, but I'm thinking more along the lines of "Will my transaction ever go through?  How long will I have to wait?" Etc., etc.

4.  "Can I add a fee after the transaction has been sent?" --> No.  But I'm sure you know this.

You don't have to answer these here Smiley  I'm just trying to step back to when I first started learning about bitcoin and drawing from my explanations/conversations with others.

I'd like to see your presentation when it is done!

I will certainly put some thought into it and get back to you...tomorrow.  I'm calling it a day for now Wink

I only came back tonight as I said to state that I just checked and now have 10 confirmations.

And, we learned something today.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitInstant to MtGox... Where are my funds!? on: April 04, 2013, 01:15:24 AM
Well today has been a bit strange.  I received a response from MtGox regarding my issue, but still haven't heard back from BitInstant.  Today was my first experience with BitInstant - mostly because I just wanted to see how the process worked - and it is probably my last.

For me there was just something much too uneasy feeling about all of it.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitInstant to MtGox... Where are my funds!? on: April 04, 2013, 01:09:08 AM
I might have had a similar experience earlier today.  I think that there is some error occuring and you will need to manually enter a MtGox Code.  I've heard people saying that their Account Number changed recently, and I have a suspicion that it might be related to that...just a guess.

You said that you received the confirmation email.  Mine had a line starting "APIResult".  The string after that started as MTGOX-USD-a-bunch-more-characters.  I did a copy-pasta with that string into the MtGox code box and funds appeared.

Good luck!
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please explain how TX ID results in "No such transaction" on blockexplorer.com? on: April 03, 2013, 10:43:40 PM
This is a very clear explanation that I've been needing.  I don't think I had quite understood where the transactions "lived" until the miners chose to include them in a block.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please explain how TX ID results in "No such transaction" on blockexplorer.com? on: April 03, 2013, 09:07:11 PM
I was wondering if the "issues" were responsible, too.  Also, as with other search results on related topics, I figured that as soon as I posted about it things would start to appear...

As a participant in the Bitcoin economy for several months now, and as someone who has a technical background, I thought I had a good handle on the workings of Bitcoin.  This wasn't money I couldn't afford to lose, but it was sure disconcerting to be so confused.

Like most here I really want Bitcoin to succeed, but this situation of "maybe it will be confirmed, in an hour, three hours, today, tomorrow, next week, month, etc.," sure seems to be quite a high hurdle for the less technically-inclined individuals to understand and accept.  I'm starting to find this to be a big argument against the "Bitcoin is digital cash" analogy - cash never disappears indefinitely in the middle of a transaction.  "Where is my money?" is not comforting feeling to most, especially those who still think their internet comes from AOL  Grin

I guess I'll chalk this up to a learning experience to be used in future Bitcoin-centric discussions.  For others' benefit, I'll post back when the transaction hits 6 confirms.

Thanks again, tysat!

zeroday - I've been discovering others' experiences and the requirement to contact support.  I'm just going to wait for now.  I'm at least a bit settled to see it appear on blockchain.info under my address.  I'm not too worried.  I've lost much more money in Vegas.
