Bump...

Still offering shows for BTC. Quote's are now lower, estimated 2.5btc per performer for UK gigs and beginning at 4btc per performer for international.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Safe OSX bitcoin usage on: April 21, 2013, 04:17:29 PM
Hi,

I found the below instructions for using the b qt client on a mac...
I'd love the opinions of the more experience memebrs here on the below...
Really very interested in how to keep an osx system safe enough to deal with exchanges, storing encrypted wallets, avoiding java exploits, trojans, keyloggers etc.
I get the feeling that running Avast and Noscript is just not enough....

Quote
1) Install the Bitcoin app (or have it already installed) and run it to get all the chains, then close the app.
2) Format a USB Drive and name it something other than Bitcoin to keep things from being complicated. Doesn’t matter, you soon won’t need to reference it.
3) From Disc Utility make a new image that is .2 gb smaller than the USB drive, encrypt it with a strong password. Call it WALLET.
4) Copy the Bitcoin Executable file to the WALLET image.
5) In your Users folder, go to the Library/Application Support/ and copy the Bitcoin folder to WALLET. Rename it to be TEMP.
6) Delete the Bitcoin folder from the Application Support.
7) Run this line in Terminal to create a symlink to the new location: ln -s /Volumes/WALLET ~/Library/Application\ Support/Bitcoin
***You should now see an alias in the Application Support folder called Bitcoins.
Cool Run the Bitcoins Executable from the WALLET Image, it should create files in the root of the WALLET image. Once it starts up and creates those files, just close the app.
9) Go back to the TEMP folder. Move all items to the root of the WALLET image, and overwrite the files the Bitcoins app just recently made. Delete the TEMP folder.
10) Run Bitcoin executable. It should now be self contained on the drive, and should have all the blocks.
11) Copy these instructions to a text document, and place in the WALLET image. This will come in handy if you need to reconnect your wallet to a different computer if need be.

That’s it! When you’re done and want to lock up your schnitzel; close the app, eject the image, then eject the drive. (Note: you may have to unmount the image via disk utility)

3  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Problems with bitcoin-24.com WARNING! on: April 10, 2013, 04:05:44 AM
I've had no issues but always withdraw bitcoin not sepa.

One sepa desposit did take awhile to hit the account... but they said the reference hadn't been included.

Got support via support@bitcoin-24.com

Is it just me or does the bitcoin android app seem incredibly insecure compared to the website?

You can literally send bitcoins without any password, 2 factor authentication, anything at all! how can I hand my phone to a friend to send a txt if he could transfer my btc in the same amount of time?

and the exchange rates make no sense.
5  Economy / Services / Cirque du Soleil artist will perform at your event for btc on: April 03, 2013, 04:57:02 PM
Hi, I'm a former Cirque du Soleil artist, most recently spent 2 years as a featured act on the Zaia production.

Happy and willing to take bitcoins to perform my acts.
High impact Solo & Duo Fire shows with sfx and pyrotechnics are my specialty. Aerial acts also available.
You can check out my available acts via www.sparkfiredance.com or vimeo.com/sparkfire

Discounted fee's for btc bookings.
Fee's for UK gigs start at 6 btc per performer plus local travel, international 12 btc per performer
plus production, fuel, flights, excess baggage (not usually necessary), all transfers, accommodation and meals.

Interested to see how this works out :-)

I posted a question inquiring if anyone has a copy of it:

Thanks so much for that Stephan. The willingness to help I see in the community is a real affirmation of the ideals and potential of bitcoin.

Fantastic. successfully imported the encrypted backup. Rare happy end to a 'argh I've lost my coins' story.

Thanks for the help guys. Lessons learned.

Blockchain.info/wallet includes in your balance any transactions that have not yet confirmed.

Wow ok this i did not know.

Yes I have the right identifiers, old address now shows the balance. However I can no longer access it via the paired android device since I tried (and failed, buggy blockchain app) to pair it with the new account.

I still have encrypted backups of the old wallet. Can I import these elsewhere to regain access?
9  Economy / Web Wallets / Blockchain.info transaction did not confirm. Coins returned to origin [RESOLVED] on: April 02, 2013, 12:17:08 AM
Hey guys, please help me out here.

I made a blockchain account. Bought a few botcoin.

paired a device successfully after many attempts.

changed the account password to a good secure one. Several days later could not login. had no idea wtf....

paired Device could still do transfers though.... so made a new account and transfered the balance to the new account.

Transfer went through... fine, using new account for almost a week with the balance showing the whole time...

Then I receive an email from blockchain.info...
"A transaction made through My Wallet has been removed from our database because it was taking a long time to be included in a block..
You may wish to try and make this transaction again, apologies for any inconvenience."

I log into my new account and the balance is zero... WTF? I thought transfers could not be reversed?
why would blockchain show a full balance for so many days in the new address then revert it?

Problem now is I have no access to the old account and still have no idea why.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Blockchain.info exempt from the usual 'Dont store at exchange' warnings? on: March 31, 2013, 07:50:53 PM
From my limited understanding they can go under and you still have your encrypted backup of a wallet you can import anywhere....
Browser side encryption so they can't access the wallet.
So it would seem not to be subject to the usual cautions correct? Or what am I missing?

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Blockchain.info android app unable to pair device on: March 30, 2013, 07:31:28 PM
Anyone else having issues with this?
Nexus 4, totally unable to pair device. just keeps popping up the pair device/new account welcome screen, jumps back to it after scanning QR code (yes the correct one under device pairing in account settings)
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain.info Support on: March 30, 2013, 07:29:39 PM
Yeah waiting 18 days for my own ticket to be answered.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain.info lack of answer on: March 30, 2013, 07:29:05 PM
I am also waiting over 18 days for any response from blockchain support.

With the recent rise you'd think they could hire some more cust support staff!
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Blockchain.info no longer taking direct UK deposits on: March 30, 2013, 01:37:54 AM
