Hey again everyone, I'm back again for the third and probably last time before I go out and actually buy the GPU's to set up my rig. 1. How useful is EthOs? Other than convenience are there any other reasons to buy it rather than just using windows? 2. What is the average lifespan of a RX 470 or 480 in a relatively humid country? 3. How important is the efficiency of a power supply. Is having a platinum rated power supply vital or am I ok getting a gold 1000W supply. How much did you guys pay for you power supply? 4. This is a bit of a long one so I'm going to give a bit of a back story first. I have had a desktop for 3 years now. It has an intel I5 4440 and a motherboard with PCIe and USB3. I'm going to be getting a laptop in about a month and what to use some of my desktop parts to build the rig but I don't want to completely tear apart my PC. Can I remove all the cables and all video cards. Leave the motherboard and CPU inside the casing, open up the left side of the casing and have the mining GPU's (which will be attached to a self made open air mining case) connected into the motherboard in the open PC case instead of the motherboard resting on the ground or are there any distinct disadvantages to doing so? I know this one isn't very well worded so if you need clarification just say so. I know this ones a bit long so just answer whatever you want. Even an answer to one question is much appreciated 1. EthOS is only useful until PoS. I believe it was written for GPU miners. 2. That's going to be hard to tell. I live in Texas where the humidity can get high, but my miners have gone through one humid summer no problem. But that's my subjective case. 3. PSU efficiency is important, but you should be fine with a gold. I have gold on all of my miners. According to Corsair( http://www.corsair.com/en-us/blog/2012/august/80-plus-platinum-what-does-it-mean-and-what-is-the-benefit-to-me) There is only a 2% difference in efficiency between the gold and platinum(assuming you're going to go with a full rig) that amount is negligible. Go with a gold it will save you money. 4. Yes, you can do that, but it will be messy and ugly. I assume that your MOBO can hold 1 or 2 GPUs. You're still going to need power cables to the GPUs. Additionally it sounds like the GPUs won't be on the MOBO so you'll need to get powered risers that allow your GPUs to connect to your MOBO, that will require additional power rails as well. It will be annoying when you want to work on the rig, if you're going with your idea of taking your tower and laying it on the side. It would be better if you have your components on an actual frame designed for mining or on a rack that allows for open air. Basically what I'm trying to say is, the way you're wanting to do it will be annoying when you want to assemble/disassemble your makeshift rig. It's better to have everything on a mining frame or shelves where people lay their MOBO down on the shelf and ziptie their GPUs on the next shelf up. I hope this helps!

You can't use this to mine monero or other coins. Only SHA256 and Scrypt algos. You need GPUs for what you want to do. Also, no it's not worth it. You're wasting money. If you want to make money, you need to spend it first.

Honestly, if you're in this deep, why not look at becoming a masternode if you believe in this coin?

You lost your money. Stop using something you don't understand.

Even a new person like me can see through this bullshittery. Get out of here dude.
DASH IS NOT DECENTRALIZED

I'm new, as you know, so take with a grain of salt, as you will.....
1. The top 500 (random number, enter number there that you see fit) miners in the last 30 days or X blocks should be able to vote. Same people are the only ones able to submit ideas to be funded.
Their economic incentives don't always align with the best directions for the development of the coin. Also they may be deficient in technical understanding of complex issues. 3. No end time on the treasury, ongoing.
Problem is it becomes a centralized resource to fight over. It eventually it will be controlled by those at the top of the power-law distribution. So it will be a "the rich collect rents and parasite" formula. So I don't think perpetual is a good idea. The centralized bootstrap should get out of the way and let the ecosystem fund itself decentralized as Satoshi did when he stepped aside.
How about decentralized voting by the token owners wherein they vote their stake in the treasury separately from the others, i.e. not monolithic appropriation? But after developers get this ICO money, it is down to them to use that money, how to use and allocate it, how to control the development process etc. I don't think there are any procedure to punish them.
An idea popped into my mind. What if ICO coin buyers vote on each release of the budget. They only get to vote up to the value of the tokens they own. They can vote any fraction of their tokens on any budget release. Once they've voted all their tokens, they can't vote any more. The approved releases are taken from the pool of BTC. Any of the pool not released after a certain period of time, is returned back to all ICO investors proportionally. What do you think? See any flaws in it? One flaw is that it means some ICO owners can hold the other owners hostage, by refusing to fully fund what the developer thought had been raised already. But I am not sure that is really a flaw. It means the devs have an ongoing incentive to perform. I am very sleepy so I might have a major flaw in this idea. Wouldn't the ICO buyers just be another form of centralization? What about the people who want to participate in the voting because they like and idea? Because they didn't participate in the ICO for whatever reason, but own tokens, they don't get to vote? Unless these tokens are specific tokens identifiable as ICO tokens? I guess now that I think about it a bit more, having everyone vote would almost lead to an issue similar to Bitcoin's current issue, no?

I love it watching all the losers get dethroned on TheCap Dash = #3 coin @ $32.56Finally taking out the premined shit coin called Ripple. Notice how they ran here making Ripple topics quick ? hahahha scared bitches 2017 the scene has now changed Invstards it's a new game ! Even the ole scamtard's behind Ethereum are rushing to pump their coin scared shitless they are next ROFL http://coinmarketcap.com/PS:Monero's chart looks like a limp dick @ $12 cue the Ripple dumping more coins onto the scene AGAIN coming soon LOL (last time they unloaded 333 million to jump up the standings) May I pick your brain? Despite being new myself, I see you post a lot and a majority I agree with, but have a hard time making my own opinion because of ALL the info. But I would like to ask, why are all coins scams? I see posts about Dash scam/not scam, Ethereum scam/not scam. Why do people call all these coin scams, yet they are being used and reviewed by entities/people who are interested in their products or see a use for them. For example, Dash and Protonmail. Moneroians will claim Dash is a scam and preach Monero, and the opposite will occur as well. How can a coin be a scam and be 'used?' Protonmail took the time to look into Dash vs other coins and chose them. Why would they choose a 'scam?' I guess what I have a hard time wrapping my brain around is why are companies like Protonmail taking the time to use a scamcoin. I don't think these companies will say, "Hey, lets use possible helpful feature even though it's a scam! And when they come out as a scam, we're gonna lose a lot of money! What a great idea right?" They are seeing a legitimate purpose regardless of 'scam.' Also, can anyone explain how and why I currently need $30k USD to run a fucking masternode?! I.. just don't get it..

Guys we need to gear up and finish the next version of Bitcointalk. Reddit, slack or whatever are private companies which can be handled by governments really well. Don't try to change them, make Bitcointalk great again and any sucker will fall behind it Akasha on the Ethereum network. Check it out.

hey guys,
i have 6 saphire rx 480 nitro + 8g oc in my first rig but i had to wait ages before i could get those cards in belgium...
i want to build a second rig and want to use MSI RADEON RX 480 GAMING X 8G this time , are these cards as good as the saphires ?? and is there a difference in mining speed between 4Giga and 8Giga versions?
thx
I have 6 of the 8GB versions and have tested the 4GB. Stock settings 4GB hash at ~600, 8GB hash at ~640. The MSI gaming x IMO have the best fans. So quiet and tremendous cooling. Definitely recommend. Nice! DID you try to tweak it higher then 600? No. I can't even tweak the 8GB versions. Honestly, when I try to adjust settings, the rig crashes. And I've tried AB and Wattman. I can OC with Eth no problem. I'm still trying to figure out if it's my settings, or Claymore's software it self. For RX cards, it just gets by. This miner needs an update badly. Hmm it should be faster with flashing the BIOS. How much power your rig takes from the wall,? Currently I'm pulling ~900w with some undervolting. May I ask if you could link the bios flash for XMR? I'd greatly appreciate it.

It's the real deal. Superior to Bitcoin in most ways. Private. Secure. Untraceable.
Wonderful GUI wallet with ringCT permanently enabled.
Privacy shouldn't be an option like other coins. It should be inherent. Just like your privacy.

Sell before it goes below 100 sat!
Tank me later!

i have that too with my 5x 470's they run average 760hs but 1 or 2 of them run in the 400-500's
i have to restart the miner a lot of time and change a bit clock setting till they all hit 750+ than i reset my clock to 1920
How are you hashing that high with those? Custom BIOS? I'm hashing 640 on 480 8GB cards and dream of achieving that. Also, I would like to confirm that I had fan issues as well. If my fans were on auto, two of the six cards would go at a higher fan rate and the other would stay the same. Another issue that I've had was those same two cards that would fluctuate fan speed, would sometimes not have their fans spinning, and hashing at 100%. I have figured out that it was MSI Afterburner causing the issues with the fans. Once I removed AB, fans now are auto, but don't fluctuate up and down. I am now using Wattman to OC/UV. Claymore 9.6/9.7 had these issues. Driver is 16.9.2. Win 10. Did test next driver up, same issue, but have not gone further with updates.

300 USD, 1200 for quad. 10% discount from shipping+miner.
Oh man, this sounds tempting. I'll keep an eye out. Do you have a cut-off date?

So is it 300 Dash or 300 USD(18Dash?) for a Mini?

My current hashrate is approximately 2.6kh total using claymore Based on calculator, i should be getting 0.293 XMR per day But in my minergate account theres only 0.198
Factor in the consideration of Dev fee 2.5% + pool fee 1% there is a deviation of approximate 40%... Can anyone shed a light on this?
I'm curious about this as well. With 11 cards going, whattomine tells me I should be getting ~.76, and last night I got .73. I'll math this out and see if this might be correct. I'm honestly just a bit away, but so close that I'm not really bothered.

Really nice on the details, very much appreciated. What's the hash rate difference on the two different sets when mining XMR? I'm going to assume 29-31 MH/s on ETH Unfortunately not. I haven't done any modded bios. So for ETH, both rigs hash at 25Mh/s not overclocked. The MSI rig, if I OC the Memory to 2200, the cards hash rate increase to 27-28. For XMR, both rigs hash at ~640 per card. I have not successfully overclocked XMR ever, it's so hard for me. I see people doing it and I honestly halfway don't believe them. I just need to do more research.
