2  Other / Off-topic / Re: Alternatives to TOR? on: August 07, 2016, 08:39:39 PM

I tried to make Windows7 VM connect through whonix gateway but it's not working. I'm doing something wrong. Can you advise on how to make it connect?

In VirtualBox VM Settings, choose Internal Network, choose "Whonix" as the network name (same as you see in whonix gateway and workstation settings).

Then change LAN IP:

In Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center: click on "Change adapter settings" Right-click on local area connection > properties In property window: double-click Internet Protocol Version 4, use the following settings:

IP address 10.152.152.x
Subnet netmask 255.255.192.0
Default gateway 10.152.152.10
Preferred DNS server 10.152.152.10

*where "x" is any number except 10, because 10 belongs to the gateway.

I use virustotal.com, which scans the file you upload using 55 different antivirus solutions.

Your only real alternative would be tails, its a linux OS that you can boot off of anything like a CD or a thumb drive. As far as speed goes, tails routes everything through TOR so you wont get any increased speeds but the security on tails is better, tails only uses RAM for storage so when you turn off your computer, everything will be deleted and you wont leave a trace

TAILS is not the only alternative, then. Whonix is another.

I've heard of whonix, I know some advanced guys use it for good opsec. Do you have a lot of experience with it?

Yes, I do. I use it because It is a lot more flexible than TAILS, and a lot safer than simply using Tor Browser on your host. I run all kinds of custom workstation VMs (including Windows) through whonix gateway, and don't have to worry about any IP or DNS leaks.

Have you tried doing a Google search for topics related to market places on the dark web?
even if you try it, I think you will never be able to find it, because google or something pertinent certainly will block that place. but you can find the black market in the deep web, I guess you've heard of it, if not, maybe you should look for its own information

First of all you need a tor client, since most of the dark places work on a .union extention. Then you also need a 'dark' mailadress
so you can't be traced.

It's .onion, not .Union, lol.

Anybody who needs good information and tutorials on darknet markets, anonymity and opsec, and all related things - go to deepdotweb.com.

It's a handy site, although I am not a fan of darknet sites or the darnket, it is intriguing to read about it.
Having said that, be carefullthere, since a lot of police men are present on the darknet, looking for newbies like you and me.
You're making a wrong assumption here, not everybody here is a newbies to darkent.

There are many things you can do with bitcoins that you can't do with cash.

You can download and install desktop wallets and use them easily. The best ones are Electrum and MultiBit. The sites (electrum.org and multibit.org) have all the instructions on how to download, install, and use them.

Lots of ways to make money with btc. Just have to be smart about it.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how much can junior members earn with sig campaigns, average? on: July 20, 2016, 01:36:13 PM
20 posts a day seems quite a lot because you have to wait every 360 seconds when you want to post again, I know there are other ways of earning
btc the ones ive tried are, faucets, referrals and that's about it I can't invest either or sell services so it would be hard for me to earn btc.

Is it ok if I can get a btc loan and gamble with it?
if you reach jr. member you need waiting 60seconds for next post not 360second for each post
the problem is not about timing to posting, but are you can make your 20post is not spam
read this for table Min. seconds between post actions
I've adjusted the limits to make spamming more difficult.

Activity   Min. seconds between post actions   Max PM recipients   PMs per hour
036035
1674530
3060560
6030560
1001210120
2001015120
300820120

Thanks for the table, really helpful. However, I'm confused about "Max PM recipients" column, what exactly does that mean? Does it mean that if your activity is in the 0-16 range you can only exchange PMs with 3 people and no more?

What are the things you usually say when people ask what Bitcoin is?

I usually say "ever heard of google?"

14  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: VPN that accepts Bitcoin on: July 18, 2016, 04:50:41 PM
Many VPNs accept btc. However, if you want to stay anonymous, you shouldn't rely on VPNs too much. Use Tor, either by itself or together with a VPN.

When you are deciding which VPN to buy, look at reviews on deepdotweb.com, torrentfreak.com and other reputable sites. They have lists of vpns rated by important factors such as which country they are based in, whether they keep logs, etc.

From the top of my head I'd say mullvad, privatevpn, ivpn, privatoria are the best when it comes to anonymity. They all accept btc.

If you need a good anonymous vpn that has a free plan, try securitykiss, I think they give you 300 Mb/day for free.

Excellent post!

Another good source for information about VPNs, as well as other important privacy and anonymity tools, is https://www.privacytools.io/

Of course it's slow, why would it be fast?

As for being insecure, where did you get THAT impression?
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Bitcoin wallets are best to use? on: July 17, 2016, 11:11:15 PM
I use electrum as bitcoin wallet.

Could be better, I can't even chose what fee should I pay.

Other day the wallet wanted to charge me over 2 mBTC as transaction fee...

You can easily adjust the transaction fee in Electrum under Tools/Preferences/Transactions (I'm using Electrum on Linux, Electrum version for other OSs might have a slightly different path).
