RaiBlocks Community team proudly announce:We did a great improvment to the miner: mining XRB with web interface or CLI interface now is cheaper than using coinhive and even as good as mine directly on a monero pool (considering also trading fee to convert XMR to XRB). I tried the faucet but it's Coinhive meaning they're mining monero and just converting them to XRB. It's not worth it for me so I stopped. Just waiting for the time XRB will rise up once again.
Our next step will be to make it cheaper to mine on raiblockscommunity.net than mine directly on coinhive and then sell on exchange to get btc and then xrb. After that we'll plan the release of the mixer (mixer code is already developed). |

It means we must buy XRB before distribute them. It means we are not getting XRB for free like when the raiblocks faucet was running (now is closed forever because all remaining funds have been burned).
It won't use captcha or advertising because fight bots and pools was too hard and we don't want to run in the same troubles again for the moment.
raiblockscommunity.net mixer is already developed but we are waiting for some factors to release it.
Is raiblockscommunity.net miner is a sort of ICO like thing ? As you said we have to buy XRB first ( just we buy any coins in ICO) and then trade with on exchanges. The faucet has ended forever so this project is no more unique ? The original dev created the project for the people and did not take money for the coins like in other projects. Can you tell me how this is now any different from any ordinary ICO ? No ICO, No Fork. Just supporting XRB. |

We are also working to land the mixer asap.
Do you mean this? I announce I'm working on the algoritm of the first XRB "mixer".
I say "mixer" and not mixer, just because it doesn't mix, but wants to reach the same goal.
Would be better call it: XRB deceiver.
Coin mixer concept:
Differents users or holders join their funds and an algorithm split them back. (Very basic concept)
Coin deceiver concept:
Since I want to provide a solution that allow to "mix" coin without the help of third parts, I can't call it mixer. Just deceiver.
What's the concept? XRB allows us to a potentially infinite number of tx, since no fee is required.
Deception is more efficient as:
- more time deception lasts
- more txs are generated from the source account (the account wants to to deceive)
The basic idea is to analyze how much tx in the network happen, how many different amounts are send, what's the amount average and other txs property.
The goal is to make believe to your "account stalker" that you don't hold your funds anymore and that such funds have just being send to someone else.
At the end of deception, from your source account you'll get many many more accounts with different amounts. You'll be able to spend such splitted amount with a proper tool.
(You'll loose some funds, because to perform a proper deception, your funds will be sent to accounts of other ppl, that you don't own).
Will be written in PHP and posted on GitHub (so other devs can write in different language).
Give me your feedback.
I would be happy if that could be done. No, it works in a different way, but is a efficient way to mix you XRB. |

Declining the decision to stop the distribution (and in full respect of a democratic development), a fork is on the way, more details will be posted next days.
The fork isn't something against XRB, just a different vision with continued distribution.

what does this mean? can someone explain? HAHA We’re making preparations to turn off the faucet claims page in order to end the RaiBlocks distribution at 0000UTC on 17th Oct. We’re proud our distribution method has introduced so many to cryptocurrency and we’re looking forward to seeing people’s ideas and projects as we push forward. We’re going to let the payout script run for a few more days to pay out those who were close to the threshold then disable that script as well. At that point we’re going to send 7,000,000 xrb from the genesis account to an account reserved for development funds and send the remaining to the burn account removing it from circulation. We’ve received nothing but positive feedback on the technology of RaiBlocks: instant/free transactions. This is everything people have wanted in a cryptocurrency for the last decade and we’re looking forward to what the next year will bring. "continued distribution" hm?

The coin-hive was put as testing limiter for bots.
It's not a question of money, these are the Monero we raised with it 0.00430216 in about 12 hours.
There are some news coming up with the WASM PoW and we could use it as limiter, but I also guess BOTS will have enough money for PoW. So probably PoW as limiter won't be a good option as it has been implemented now.
