"In for the money? Get lost and good riddance"
I find that offensive.

i don't understand what i'm reading here.
the "new money" crashed the price? most likely the new money triggered sell orders set by the "old money" and i'll bet most of the "old money" sold into the slide and picked up cheap btc on the other side doubling their holding, whilst the new money were left with just a few btc, can you say ponzi?
reckon silverback has it right, if you believe in btc, then spread it around so everyone has a stake, setup a website and give it away, but not fractions of pennies like the free sites who rake it back and some with their ads, give away full btcs to us that want to support it but don't have the means to purchase it. bet you don't.

don't know why sentiment seems negative.
was a big opportunity to make money/increase btc holding

if bitstamp are listening, maybe its a good idea to at least acknowledge receipt of support request.
26 hours and no response to support request, what gives?

In my case, the SEPA transfer was pretty fast. I did on a thursday, my bank office confirmed it on friday and the next monday the money was on Bitstamp.

Now I have a pending withdrawal with them that is taking a little more...
i did the sepa on thursday, transferwise confirmed the money had been sent on friday, now its past tuesday and nothing on bitstamp, not even an email acknowledgement, or supoort response.
what worries me is that something has gone ary with my transaction and I feel i have no point of contact for a resolution.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / bitstamp, where are my funds? on: April 09, 2013, 02:41:30 PM
how long should it take to fund a Bitstamp account?

I have transferred using Transferwise and they say the money was sent early friday morning 5th april, nothing in my bitstamp account.
no response from support (19 hours and waiting)

now it maybe that this delay is normal (don't want to unnecessarily scare anyone) or it may not be normal. can anyone reassure or advise me.

i reset blockchain on both wallets. totals zeroed and after recalculating totals in wallets same as before, wallets contain same addresses the same as before. not sure i understand what is happening.

12  Other / Beginners & Help / exporting keys on: April 07, 2013, 10:36:03 AM
been tinkering with bitcoin, so i have a few wallets and clients with some minor amounts in each.
I was looking at merging wallets so I exported keys from first wallet and imported them into the second wallet.
the money did not move, but both wallets now have some addresses which are the same.
where does the money arrive if it is send to this duplicate address?
any consequences to deleting addresses?

if i've said (or done) something stupid, please point it out...still learning.

Go here
https://blockchain.info/wallet/

To blockchain website. Register for an e wallet click on the UK flag and do a transfer direct from your bank. This took me months to figure out and I haven't found any other way.

it says they limit you to £100 per week (increased to £1000 after a few weeks) and charge 4-6% fee.
this doesn't seem practical.
you also appear to need a mobile phone? which i do not have (don't ask).

hmm, do i want a website holding my wallet?

or is the idea then to transfer it to a private wallet under my control?

totally new to this, I'm based in the UK and have just installed client/wallet.
where and how do i buy bitcoins.
I am sure there are scammers who will just take my cash and disappear and some that will overcharge, so who should i trust.
Can someone give advice where to start and what the pitfalls are.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: multibit on: April 03, 2013, 05:18:51 PM
thanks, that seems to work now.

I had to manually go into the firewall to allow access, and also allow access for java.
same with the standard bitcoin client, which is now syncronizing.
not sure why the firewall did not prompt me as it usually does when something attempts access.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / multibit on: April 03, 2013, 04:10:54 PM
i'm very new to this.

I installed multibit. it says "connecting..." in red in the lower left corner.
had it running a long time yesterday, same again today, still says the same thing.

how long should i expect to wait before it connects?

any idea what could explain this?
