1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: lolMiner 1.16: AMD Miner for Ethash / BEAM / GRIN / Ae / Tube / Equihash & more on: December 16, 2020, 01:12:42 AM
I have been able to continue mining after Epoch 382 with full rate:

Simplemining:
--algo ETHASH --pool poolurl:port --user wallet.rigname --pass x --apiport 4444  --4g-alloc-size 4080

HiveOS:
Add in extra parameters : --4g-alloc-size 4080

If 4080 doesn't work try 4076 you will loose 2Mhs.

Enjoy full Mhs

it doesnt work on my rig with 4GB gpus. I get this error:

GPU 3: insufficient memory for DAG epoch 382.
GPU 3: will be paused.

I tried 4080 and 4076. Any other suggestion?

For me it is resolved by removing "--keepfree" parameter

Hi,

I used Claymore 9.8 for ETH until it crashed today. Does anyone know, what kind of claymore version can be used without loss of hashrate at AMD GPU´s?
11.8 is not as well as 9.8 was.

Same here, my rx 550 and rx 560 lost 1-2mh each!

Did you try 10.2?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.9 (Windows/Linux) on: July 21, 2018, 01:01:38 PM
Looks like we just passed DAG #200 on ETH.

I wonder how the difficulty will adjust with people not upgraded to the latest v11.x?

I had one rig on 9.x and it stopped hashing about an hour ago.

This reminds me of the pre-Claymore days when rigs used to crash during a new DAG file and the difficulty slightly dipped while everybody had to restart their rigs.

All of my miners just went down.  I have been on 9.0 for about a year so I came here.  Guess the fix is to upgrade all to 11.x?
Thanks.

I upgraded AMD rigs from 10 to 10.2. It looks well so far.

Why not 11.x?
10 kernels is much more stable on my high-overclocked cards. Time to time tried new versions...
For example, 11.9 with "-oldkernels 1" was seriously less stable then 10

This is true for AMD, for Nvidia 11.x is better for my rigs

OS is Linux
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Linux Driver for [Suspicious link removed]pute 17.30.1029 on: September 24, 2017, 12:16:25 AM
@CryptoSquad, found this for Linux UV dwarfing-master here https://github.com/rumatoest/dwarfing.

I haven't tried it as I am running back on Win10 for now. If you try it please post your results, should bring your temps down.

@rvlad, I had compiled the Torvalds kernel but it is missing the AMD firmwares and I don't know where to find the patches. Kernel works but can't get the GPU running due to missing firmware.

Please see the message from laik2 proposing to copy AMD firmware from AMD driver.

But the question was to xmonkx which linux from Torvalds git was compiled: 4.12 or newer?

1.Download latest linux 4.12.10 from kernel.org
2.Apply patches from here: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/project/amd-xorg-ddx/series/?ordering=-last_updated( more advanced way)
3.Compile kernel -> the ubuntu way.
4.Install kernel using dpkg
5. Download amdgpu-pro-17.30 latest, unarchive and edit amdgpu-pro-install, under the --compute function remove amdgpu-pro-dkms.
6. Exec ./amdgpu-pro-install --compute to install only opencl and libdrm
7. dpkg -x amdgpu-pro-dkms.... /out; cd out/usr/src/amdgpu-pro/lib/firmware && rm /lib/firmware/amdgpu/* && cp * /lib/firmware/amdgpu
8. add amdgpu.vm_fragment_size=9 to /etc/default/grub as stated in previous posts.
8.1. add if you are using user to video group usermod -a -G video $user
9. update-grub && update-initramfs -u
10. Reboot and mine.

Is a real reason to build new kernel such as performance or stability issues?

Since I wasn't sure what patches to apply, I used a mix of both ways:
1. Installed not whole rocm package but only kernel image and headers 4.11 from rocm repository.
2. Installed compute-only 17.30 amd driver as recommended above (without dkms).
3. Added amdgpu module option.

Still there are issues with very slow boot (known issue if VBIOS was patched). But it runs.
Is 4.12 kernel somehow better?

Thanks laik2, I built linux from the git:linux-master and it works.

--
ROCm does not work for my rig with A + N on it.
Therefore, I did laik2 way to build a new kernel for my rig.
However, I found that linux-4.12.10 even linux-4.13.x from linux.org does not support vm_fragment.
There is no vm_fragment member in ./drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/amdgpu_vm.c.
And I don't know which patches to be applied from patchwork.freedesktop.org.
Finally, I google "linux amdgp vm_fragment_size", github.com/torvalds comes out.

What to do is just download linux from github.com/torvalds and buid and run laik2 steps.
And everything works perfect.

Thanks~

Which Linux have you downloaded from github.com/torvalds?
4.12?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] www.bitpanda.com Buy/Sell ETH/BTC with Visa Mastercard Neteller Skrill on: September 29, 2016, 09:48:18 AM
Dear TwinWinNerD and ALL,

Finally tonight test payment of minimum possible amount 3 ETH to Paypal via BitPanda finished. What have I learned?

1) Moderate long time: order placed 2016-09-28 01:20, order processed 2016-09-29 00:35.
The 1/2 part of the delay (about 12 hours) is the time of wrong order cancellation.

2) Response time of TwinWinNerD here in the forum is excellent  Smiley) (few minutes) but the response time
of the support team is CLOSE TO unacceptable (more then 6-12 hours). I still do not have answers for some questions.
This is the field to improve!

3) Difficulties with the account control during order processing as where is not site wallet for ETH (BTC wallet exists)
and you need to use https://etherscan.io to control the transaction.

4) What is really sad it is the situation with the different fee/commissions.

a) The rate is not the best but it is OK as it is not exchange but changer
b) Implicit commission exists in the order itself:

TIMESTAMP   ORDERTYPE   PRICE           AMOUNT           CRYPTOCOIN    STATUS
2016-09-28   Sell                   10.9352 EUR   31.4757 EUR   3.0000 ETH    Finished

As you see 31.4757 EUR is LESS than 10.9352 * 3 ETH = 32.8056 EUR. Implicit commission is 4.05 %

c) Paypal charged me fee 1.74 EUR, 5.53 %

3,9% plus €0.35 EUR = €1.58 EUR because BitPanda use "commercial transfer" option of Paypal (it is strange - I've not sold any goods or services)
0.50% = €0.16 EUR - international transfer fee

So, together with the rate difference my lost is more then 10% !

Conclusion: I doubt that BitPanda is the good choice to transfer ETH->Paypal. You need to check other possibilities.

P.S. My analysis is only about ETH->Paypal transfer and not relate to any other services of BitPanda.

Dear TwinWinNerD,

Is your support working today?

The ticket 6780 is awaiting about 12 hours with no any answer. It was about ETH transfer to Paypal.

I've sent the required amount ETH to your account provided for this transfer via Ethereum wallet.
It was confirmed by blockchain during 5 mins (12 confirmations) but regardless you timeout of 10 mins for sending ETH,
my order was cancelled.

But I see in the blockchain that my ETH was transferred through tree of many your accounts and contracts.

Why it is happened? Can cancelled order be recovered as the coins are already somewhere in your accounts?

BR, rvlad
