Does anyone have nice stable ROM for 470 4GB Nitro OC Hynix or Elpida ? I have 3 of each, getting only 22 MH/s per card (total 133).
Thanks

Thanks for your reply.
I have four of these, and they only give me about ~ 90 H/r on ETH.
What results do you get?
Cheers

Hello, guys...
One quck question: is there ROM available for RX 480 4GB Sapphire Nitro (non ref).
I tried manually changing memory straps, but when i open bios in Polaris Bios editor, there are no such timings as 1500, 1750 etc...
Any recommendations?

I hope you can make Equihash miner, current state of mining in zcash is a disaster.
I have never seen such rush/stress about new coin, all devs and miners with a great enthusiasm started to create mining software and mine zcash even before it was launched. I'm impressed, it's seems I'm the only dev that don't have own miner at the moment ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) At the launch date (today and tomorrow) around 300 ZCash coins will be mined. with a price of 1BTC per zcash, the pioneer miners will split the 300BTC reward. ($207 000 per day (24hours)) The total etherum network is currently making around ($343 341) to the miners per day (24hours). If half of the miners switch to zcash, Etherum will be 2x more profitable to mine, and Claymore's income might decrease. The Zcash future prices indicates that 1ZEC = 1BTC.. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fpbs.twimg.com%2Fmedia%2FCvzPyzLWIAAzvSj.jpg&t=663&c=0W3R7pQqhxWBrw) This is interesting...So 1 ZEC is worth 1 BTC even if it still doesn't exist? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Or it will be worth in December?

Which models of cards do you have?
|
|
|
Greetings to all fellow miners, I've been running my rig steady for about two weeks and everything seems to work fine. What bothers me is that today i felt a strange smell coming somewhere from the motherboard/psu. I cannot describe it as a burning smell, something more like the smell from new hardware being burnt in (if i can say it like that) The rig is still working fine but i am not sure will it work in the future. I'll put a screenshot here where you can see the power consumption and clocks. The rig consist of 1 x ref Sapphire 480 8GB (flashed bios with low power consumption.rom), 2x rx 470 MSI 8GB with and 3x Rx 470 Sapphire Strix also 8GB. The 470's all are bios edited with 1500 and up strap copying, undervoltet with STRIX to -120mV, and clocks set to 1.100 and 1.750 memory clock for MSI (stock is 1.650) and 2000 (stock) for Sapphire. Mobo is AsRock BTC pro, PSU is Corsair RM 1000i. Every card is connected to the mobo with power risers. As i said it works steady for two weeks, and i am getting around 160 MHS, with power usage from the wattmeter around 830-860W, and Corsair Link 900-920W. https://postimg.org/image/3qa3juktb/I'll kindly ask some more experienced miners to take a look at the screenshot and check if everything is ok or should i change something. Thanks Regards, If your parts are new then its normal. Probably some flux being burnt off. If something actually burn your rig would shut off or at least that GPU would crash. Ok, that's what i initially thought. Thanks for your reply. I guess I did have my cards undervolted when I went to undervolt them again yesterday they were already set. They were set to -12 in afterburner.
Tried it on a cheap old MB again and same thing happened, a puff of smoke from the front part of gpu and computer immediately shuts off. Guess it happens just weird I haven't read about it happening to anyone else yet.
You guys think it was the cards fault right? Should I change my breakoutboard or server power supply? HP commonslot 1200 watt powersupply with gekkoscience bb. Had a 7 card rig going with 4 470s, 1 370, 1 380, and a 1070.
I think I'll start the RMA process this weekend.
I think it's something with your PSU, but i am not sure. Did you tried testing your rig with another one? Few weeks ago i wanted to test my new PSU using my daily computer, but i ended up burning my HDD. Problem was that i used SATA power cable from another PSU, because i didn't know that cables from different PSU's aren't same. Luckily, nothing else died and my HDD was exchanged in RMA process. Good luck

900w in...
the wattmeter is at the wall? At the extension cord...Why does it matter?
|
|
|
I also have a corsair PSU with Corsair Link enabled, and it reports about 70W more consumption than my wattmeter. So, Corsair link ~ 900, wattmeter 820. Which one should i trust?

Is there a reason why bitmain has stopped selling s9 miners? Its been out of stock for some time; is there a new model coming out?
Or is it something else?
Well they are busy swapping out s9 for s7 in their cloud ops. Remember when you have a .1 watt miner and your competitors have .25 watt you don't need to sell any gear you can simply mine. Punch in what a .1 watt 12th miner earns with 5 cent power . And also remember they build it for say 700 maybe 500. They simply have almost zero need to sell any gear. Now if Avalon sells its model 7 maybe bitmaintech will sell more s9s Yes and the fact that they need a specialized environment to work. Prolly somewhere around 20 c input temp is safe MAX. Course good luck with that if your at home running these in a garage. Im going to be selling mine on ebay for cheap in the next couple days ill post a link here soon. (winter is the safest time i feel i can sell these and not get a chargeback and ohh boy wait till you see my description of these machines . Think you all might get a kick out of it except maybe bitmain lol. Its long past time i gave this up. Now im sure most of you will hoot and holler at that but the more they pick away at those that participate in this experiment the less people there will be that use it or worse that advocate for it. Crypto with all the bs that is happening with ethereum and btc is really leaving a sour taste in my mouth. I have over 850 mhs eth rigs ill be parting with aswell. ( not to mention i guess its time to fire sale the hardware left in the garage. Been procrastinating doin it cuz its going to suck major! 80Ths sha-256 plus 1 ghs scrypt all inefficient and collecting dust) That should be my first sign that this game is rigged towards those that have the most money cheapest resources. This is all about getting things done for the cheapest cost. This was the only way it could be done and also it makes those that put the machines in feel like they are the ones doing it lmao. We all work for someone that is running this show. Big corps will use this to find the regions in the world with the cheapest resources to get their accounting or whatever done via blockchain. Was this all a trick to put datacenters out of business, lawyers etc etc? just remember lawyers are one of the biggest costs to a corporation! Its all about how can we make things cheaper amirite??? Only was a matter of time before it showed its ugly head. In the beginning i had hope for btc/crypto but now that i see it wont be anymore decentralized than fiat is now im over it. One word of advice i could give is this is too good to be true!! Far too many variables have to come together exactly for this to succeed. Lately all i see is fighting amongst the devs and community. Sooner the human race rids ourselves of these chains the better off we all will be. Honestly bitmain not selling is doing you all a HUGE favor!. Maybe is a good time to reflect on whether or not this is for you or not. For those living in the states and want a killer deal on crypto hw then keep an eye open for my sale. Its time for me to part ways while im ahead. I put that lightly since most will go to IRS. Cuz they did so much to help me get going ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) I find it fucking amazing that those like trump who can afford to lose a billion dollars and can write that off. but then there is the general public who goes to jail for not being able to pay. What a fucking joke. Those that can afford to pay dont and the ones that cant goto jail and lose everything. Welcome to America folks! Best Regards d57heinz The s9 has been the hardest miner for me to run. more breakdowns then my other gear. I had six. buysolar took one I sold off three I have two at the solar array Four of the s9's have been flawless two of them have had multiple repairs. I sold the repaired ones off on this past Sunday. I sold one of the flawless ones last week. I kept two of the flawless ones Buysolar has the other flawless one. I was up to 650mh in eth rigs I sold off 200mh I now have 425 mh in eth rigs. I moved one rig to the solar array I have 345mh in my garage. I may sell my gear off fully the two s9s and the 5 four card eth rigs Why are you selling your mining gear?

Is it ok to connect powered risers directly with the molex? I have a 5 non ref RX 470, all with 8 pin connectors.

Hello everyone! Today i finished my first rig. It consists of 3 x RX 470 8 GB Sapphire Nitro and 2x RX 470 8 GB MSI. The rig is powered by Corsair RM1000i. Here is the screenshot: https://postimg.org/image/6ww8m2r8t/Any recommendations for getting better HR? Also, according to power supply monitor, rig draws about 900W. Is it ok, or should i undervolt my cards? Waiting for the wattmeter, it should arrive by the end of the week, but i assume that it will show the same readings like LINK software. Thanks!

@philipma1957 What are the operating temps at your 4 card rigs? Aren't they too close ? I know that stock rx 470-480 can get pretty hot when mining ETH. How did you solve that problem?

Can someone edit first post and put all links there? It's hard to find it in 25+ pages :[
