1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Life After 10 years in Bitcoin... on: December 19, 2020, 06:17:17 PM
Bitcoin was invented by the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008 and released as open-source software in early 2009. It was gradually recognized by many until it reached a peak of $19,783 per bitcoin in late-2017.

From the beginning of bitcoin history I know that many people become rich instantly when they hold their bitcoins and sold at the highest price last 2017.  After the price of bitcoin fluctuated and dropped where many investors got scared and started to panic to sell their bitcoin even if they went bankrupt. But we cannot hide that bitcoin has changed many lives.

On the other hand, after bitcoin dump many are still investing, especially as the price of bitcoin gradually rises again. And due to the continuous development of bitcoin it has become more and more popular and attractive to investors especially to the rich and big companies.

Now bitcoin is preparing to reach another ATH. Are you still there and holding your bitcoins? What happened to your life after 10 years in bitcoin? Is there any changes?

As of now from the past 10 years, I didn't get really involved into bitcoin until StratisPlatform in 2016.  At the time I was working full time doing odd jobs and at the hospital five days a week 11pm to 7am.  When the peak occurred in 2017, I was able to pay off my MBA and eventually resigned from working at the hospital after 10 years of service.  Each day has been interesting due to the value of bitcoin and people that I used to work with at the hospital made it clear that my decision to work from home would lead to failure.  Update:  Some of the coworkers have been laid off or still work there but are telling me how it is difficult with the rise of covid-19 filling many of the beds and infection risks.  Nursing Manager's that thought they were safe from working bedside are now back as floor or float pool nursing staff.  My timing to leave the healthcare field seemed to be perfect timing rather.

Of course, I did try to resign back in 2014 with the attempt to become involved with bitcoin but I messed up by listening to other's opinions leading to me to go back to the same hospital with a major pay-cut.  I think my wife would have left me with my my newborn son if I had attempted the decision around that time.  2017 was a different story since I had a plan in mind and since then had been using my education to apply risk management to the diversity of investments and bitcoin.  2018 my wife was able to finish her master's in psychology which I was glad to say to have paid it off from using some of the bitcoin converted to fiat for the payments.  Around the same time, my in-laws was having issues with losing their home and was glad to find a solution with the resources available.  Recently, I have been involved in helping teachers with their project requests as a donor which is a good feeling and tax deductible for the charity.  My home is almost being paid off which I could have done it this year but I instead invested in solar energy with a backup since during the winter the power from the grid tend to go out around my area during the colder season.

I have to say, there are other life changing events since being involved with bitcoin but the main detail was that I learned from the failures just to keep it short.  There has been family trying to suggest investment ideas or selling me opportunities that have once told me my decision was a joke.  It is nice to be open-minded but very cautious.  Friends and family have always been wondering what I do nowadays.  I simply just tell them that I work from home "playtesting" video games...well I try to sign up to a variety of closed betas to keep me looking busy whenever they ask. lol.
2  Other / Off-topic / Re: What kind of life do you think is perfect? on: May 25, 2020, 04:26:37 PM
I think it is better to live a simple and honest life.  I try to live my life this way.  Because I think if I can live honestly, this life and the next life will be better.
and living in simplicity will give you no much demand in life, meaning we can be happy even in small things.

And yeah this is a perfect life, appreciating everything under the sun and looking for not much attention.

The kind of life when you're at peace with whatever you're doing, having lots of money, living out your dreams!
Peace is what we always need, but we know that world is cruel and we cannot get what we always ask.

As I look into my past, I may not even change anything since those memories gave me a learning experience rather to consider a perfect life but a life with understanding fulfilling basic needs and establishing a goal focus.  One way to stretch out the idea of simplicity for me was to find a way to live a life that will work without the demands of society and environment.  An example was work environment with a repetitive schedule where I can easily just clock in do the job description find solutions to small errors and establish the time for the two week paycheck.  The job choices seemed to be something temporary than to be a permanent career choice.  Personally, have family that tried to pursue this type of living may have sacrificed a bit to commit maybe 20-40+ years in a company.  In the end, the company decides to recruit younger and cheaper employees to replace the position which can have mix emotions of either self-worth and questioning commitment.  Hence, I like the previous comments about seeking simplicity with appreciation.  Even if you try to plan it out, there is something that might be missing or to consider as a part of one's perfect life perspective.  Personally, I wouldn't mind having more kids, but like the second quote, "we cannot get what we always ask".  My wife and I are already content with having one son after the previous attempts led to miscarriages.  There are still ups and downs in life, but there was never any regrets in the life only life lessons.
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: Any suggestions for 11 year hooked on Roblox? on: May 25, 2020, 04:10:51 PM
There are pros and cons to this site. First of all, if you're thinking since it downloads software it downloads malware, you're wrong. It's a safe download, and if you have any trouble downloading there's plenty of help to be found. As for the benefits of this site, it's a very good learning experience for your children. They learn about business and buying/selling, they learn how to create games with the easy to find and very detailed game creation tutorials and scripting tutorials, putting them on the path to learning programming languages (The one used in this site is called ROBLOX Lua, it's excellent), and they learn about how to keep and stick to a budget. There's the option to upgrade your account to Builder's Club, and there are plenty of features to be used with this. However, the site also has some flaws. It's very easy for younger children to end up on phishing sites from bot-accounts made by the owners of those sites. Before allowing your child to make an account, make sure they are aware of web-safety and how to keep their account from being stolen. If your child is educated on web safety (Which they should be educated on before being allowed to browse the internet), there are no concerns.

This is very informative.  I heard about Roblox years ago, but thought it was something more of Lego creator or Minecraft platform.  Never expected how much it has been established with a huge following and continues to grow with higher risks as you mentioned of bot-accounts.  Now that I have a kid of my own at the younger age group, I feel more involved in monitoring his online activities especially virtual learning education during this current situation.  Technology has gone a long way in improving but still you do have some participants that seem to like to cause trouble especially in a variety of gaming platforms.  Eventually the young generation will get exposure to such content which can even get bypassed from monitoring filters.  At the same time, I am also looking for such opportunities which can develop some creativity and even create his own game.  Thank you for your feedback.
4  Other / Off-topic / Re: ONE WISH IN YOUR LIFE on: October 09, 2017, 03:29:47 PM
If you where given a chance to have 1 wish in your life,
what would it be? and why did you choose it?

I think if I was given one chance to make one wish in my life is to go back to 2009.  Not because of the introduction to the bitcoin, but it is the year of a life changing moment in my life.  My time was set for reenlistment for the military and I could have made 12 more year to complete a 20 year bucket list and retire early.  Adding bitcoin to this is like adding icing to the cake.  Instead, I ended up listening to family and friends that they needed me to help them out with their family business.  If I could have this wish answered I would have retained my focus on finishing my obligation and assist when needed instead of my full time towards the family's needs before my own.  Each time I tried to help out on their needs, my ambitions become less motivating.  However, it was not late to do some of things which I do not regret.  Though my life would be easier, I managed to get a job, start a family, have a home, and build a foundation of my own.  I guess the fork in the road was meant to be to help me realize what I needed and can always wonder the "what if" of the situation.  Despite it being a wish, it is more of a parallel world with a different choice.

Members slack channel is by invite. Send proof of 5000 LGD to  info@legendsroomlv.com.
Sorry for the slow replies. It has been insane at the club. Billboard going up all over Las Vegas. UFC last weekend. CaneloGGG this weekend. Football season getting started. Conventions looking at booking the club for parties. Huge UFC in Vegas on October 7th. Media visiting almost daily. PR firm engaged now to assist with media. New website and mobile app almost done. It's a good time to be a member because we have the best girls and coolest events.

Thanks for the reply, yea i figured it would be a delay with the events coming up for this place.  I was following the twitter and noticed a bit of activity especially with the potential new places to accept LGD and events.  Personally, my interest with LGD is the private rooms for business discussions, parties, and conventions.  The benefits of having a membership works well with this idea.  Looking forward to the progress in development, keep up the good work.  Glad to be a member.  I sent an email recently, hopefully it did not go through the spam mail, i'll resend it again sometime today to info@legensroomlv.com.  Thanks again!

The best place for updates in right here in Las Vegas at the world famous Legends Room.  We realize all of our members can't make it to Vegas.   Our twitter has up to the minute updates  @legendsroom.   We also do a press release once a week. Toplessvegasonline.com posts our weekly schedule. We also just retained a PR firm to handle all of the mainstream inquiries. There is a members slack channel. Instagram has pictures from all of the events, celebrity appearances, and parties.  A new website is around the corner with a calendar of special nights, a reservation feature, and a members area.

Hi,

For the members slack channel, do I have to contact Kiki with my proof of ownership to the 5000 tokens to have access to the slack?  Keep up the awesome work with the establishment!  I missed out on renting out my membership last time so I never got a chance to try it out.  Would I have to move my tokens to myetherwallet or is there an interim wallet that will be developed as an app in the future?

I am 33. I started swimming this summer, and going to the pool for 2 days a week. I used to swim only in summer holidays before.

I am planning to maintain going to pool and learn different techniques

Do you think this is late for learning professional technique and have a fit body?

How do you think this will affect my health and body?

I believe this is an excellent exercise and stress reliever from daily routines.  If you maintain the consistency and also add in a healthy diet, your body and mind will be at the best shape at your age.  In addition, if you have done this before at a younger age, perfecting the technique will not be much of a problem just the motivation to retain the routine.  Good luck on the swimming schedule!

9  Other / Off-topic / Re: is worth to buy bitcoins? on: May 22, 2017, 05:57:35 AM
hi;

i have 3000$ and what do you think? im going to buy bitcoins and i will wait for years last;

is worth that decision good ?

I think it is nice that you made the first step in buying bitcoin.  Some people are hesitant due to how the stock market can crash at high levels.  This is not the stock market but it is a similar alternative to the market.  It seems easier to use as a medium to support other smaller projects.  If you ever decide to take the time and energy to research, you might be able to gain back more than 3,000 worth of bitcoins.  To leave your money in just Bitcoins at the a high price is like leaving an allotted amount of funds in the bank with little interest.  You can create a diversified portfolio by using portions of the 1.5 Btc into other projects.  In due time you should be able to get your value back, but it's in speculation that certain projects will create the value exponentially.  Avoid listening to exports about the market, everyone is in speculation based on charts.  It's best to do one's own diligence in research.  Keep in mind any form of investment is a risk and buying bitcoin is definitely not an insured risk, but the rewards are great if you manage to agree in those terms rather than buy in and wait.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: Complete the sentence... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..." on: May 17, 2017, 08:10:27 PM
I would sell all my Bitcoins if....wait...what???   So, I would not sell all unless I am in the deathbed and need funding for my funeral arrangements.  However, there is a catch to where my funding will be spent after that.  A portion will be spent to create a wild goose chase in finding my Bitcoins like a treasure map.  You have to spend something to make something i guess, so why not make a treasure adventure with digital nomads, (got the term from a blogger who is blogging full time and lived in an RV the past three years).  I guess you don't see that many travelers taking voyages to find the treasure chest, but why not?  It would be good exercise to get a piece of the pie.  Anyway, while I might have already been dead when this event is taken place, I would invest in a few scribes to record the events to make digital novels for the pleasure in others wanting to set off this similar activity.  Anyway, it something I had in mind after death with finances instead of making an inheritance, why not with Bitcoin as well and let them work compete with other to get it.  It is less to invest on a big treasure chest full of treasure when I could just set up a qrcode with an X marking the spot.
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would YOU choose to live forever? on: May 15, 2017, 10:49:31 PM
When I was younger, I used to want to live forever.  I am guessing my opinion is changing since I used to work at the Oncology/Hospice department.  As we get older, you may be able to prolong life and even make a variety of body parts replaced but we still haven't been able to define the limit of memory or even retaining valuable memories in the older stages of life.  A few mind puzzles, a healthy diet, but how long can we keep up a routine before we realize it's too much for us to handle?  Even if we have a different personality, there seems to be generation gap to what we are used to things in our lives like experiencing a mom and pop stores and even indoor malls.  If there was an option to die at the end of the life cycle and eventually over time come back, I might take it.  However, to live forever while others around me may not be able to afford to live forever will be difficult with trying to relate to the changes in my own environment.  If we can rejuvenate our youth, we still will feel old with the capacity of memories we hold in the mind that eventually can easily want to forget what was lost or dear to us.  This is a subjective opinion about choosing to live forever and it is one of those ideas many will have a different idea during the different phases of their life cycle or events in their own situation.

I recently read a blogger that is now a living in an RV while working in her past 2-3 years.  It is interesting, she calls the idea as a digital nomad where her full time job is blogging while she explores saving money ideas and side hustles with her husband.  If I could live anywhere in the world, I think I would prefer doing the same thing and implement digital streams of cash flow to ensure financial independence while traveling or living place to place.  If I need to secure the RV to travel out of the country, probably park and ride at a secured area within the airport while using public transportation.  Definitely would love to try this out when I decide to leave the workforce and pursue my hobbies as a career with my wife and son.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you won a (usd) $2 million dollar lottery on: May 12, 2017, 11:52:53 PM
What would you do with your winnings?

 Smiley

Would you convert it to bitcoin or another alt currency?

Buy an expensive car? Maybe a house? Land?

Invest in the stock market or another investment?

Deposit in an IRA or long term interest accumulating account?

Maybe spend it all and live like a king (or queen) for a short time?

What would your financial plans be?

I had a lot of thought about this when I was a kid and a variety of ideas crossed my mind after watching winners and losers of the lottery.  To begin, I would continue to work the first year of receiving the winnings because I would need time to diversify the winnings.  Treating myself and family will come in a planning strategy especially since the first year if I had taken the lump sum would deal with a double taxation from lottery institution and capital gains in the tax filing which there is nothing wrong or can't be avoided when IRS want their piece of tax dollars.  So the next step would be diversifying the rest to build streams of capital starting with saving some in the bank as an escrow/emergency prior to investing into ventures such as crypto projects, stocks, rental properties, etc.  Vacations plans may take a rain check after setting up net worth through growing the funding to reach it's original lottery prize value as mentioned of 2 million into the safe-net escrow account.  This can be where it can be fast or slow in the growth, but as we all know, we do our due diligence when researching crypto projects and whichever one will fulfill our financial plans along with supporting the blockchain.

As we reach the point in which the original lottery earning of 2 million usd from this post a variety of conservative ideas will be added to my plan.  We already own a home, but still have a mortgage which we can keep for tax purpose or pay off for equity in business ventures such as rental properties.  I may max out my energy credits by fulfilling the checklist to make my home energy efficient with solar panels, water collecting rain water drains, and a few vegetable/herb garden beds.  As mentioned taking my family to vacation trips would require implementing the concept to a business strategy.  Possibly pursue a hobby in blogging and utilize the time to track down conferences near our visit plans example a Fintech conference in Florida near Disney, or a crypto project convention in Japan, Korea, Philippines, etc.  A lot of ideas are coming to play preserve and grow back the initial lottery winning value, but in reality, there is still work involved with winning the lottery of just 2 million...which might be 1.2 million after taxes and might be 10 million after building the portfolio after the first year work planning.

Received my final payment, thanks Donald.  Good luck in your future projects.  And for what it was worth, I am a free account and my transactions were always paid.  Grin  His projects were not a scam, just an unfortunate event occurred with the changes bitcoin values.  Think of it as a business cycle of projects.  Some companies have to forfeit to the changes like Sears, Montgomery Wards, Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, circuit city.  Just think how many people were pissed at them when they upgraded their memberships and home insurance packages (Sears).  Over time, people move on and the cycle of projects continues.
16  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: CetoBeto.com is for sale on: January 27, 2017, 03:47:22 PM
This is where the ideas in donaldcoin and cetobeto were innovative.  It is unfortunate the project did not adapt to the changes in the rate of Bitcoin.  I joined in to cetobeto because it felt like a possible chance for the project to move on from the multiple bitcoin faucets.  They were fun and I did get rewarded properly prior to the errors.  In the end, this is where the innovation can acquire a new hand to handle project, but Donaldcoin can't satisfy everyone for the difficult decision made.  However, in the positive note, he may have a way to pay everyone especially the recently upgraded members through selling the site.  Who knows, the buyer could improve the situation to make more profit by repairing some of the flaws through the errors made on both donaldcoin and cetobeto.

Other similar projects to donaldcoin & cetobeto

Mr. Bean
Mario
bitcoin mines
Winnie the Pooh
Bitcoin Hotel
and many other faucet projects.

Anyway, Good luck Donaldcoin, hopefully you find a way to pay everyone that has put the effort to try the current project.

I find this coin intriguing.  Going to do some more research before making any judgement.

Well I thought this looked interesting until I read further and saw the "anon" stuff being talked about.  I thought this was a platform targeting corporations.  I don't see any need for anonymity whatsoever.  Sounds like a gimmick. That and there is privacy on the domain name.  Why is that?  What is there to hide?  Typically legitimate entities have no need for a privacy protected domain.

I'll give this a pass.  Don't worry, I won't be spamming your thread with accusations.  I did some research, didn't like what I saw, and will move on.  And I don't need a bunch of shills screaming "fud" because I had some legitimate concerns and decided to move on.

Hello, glad you took the time to do some research Smiley. More people should follow that lead. The ''anon'' stuff is an additional feature, the main goal is still a platform targeting corporations. So I don't see why the ''anon'' feature is a bad thing? It's extra but it's something that gives extra value to Stratis as a brand. And as said before the main goal will still be a platform for corporations.

Regarding the privacy and domain name: No serious business involved in significant transactions will ever allow you access to his data unless you guarantee privacy, among other things. It's not about hiding, it's about protecting.

In reference to domain name: we will have corporate details once we receive official registration documentation

Thanks for doing the research and giving your honest opinion. If you have any additional questions please let me know.

In addition to what Khilone7 said, Government in particular military would want more private features to ensure information is more secured.  If you think about hospitals today, patients are regarded as priority and may benefit for the extra protection from Insurance fraud and HIPPAA violations.  Also there are corporations that take the consideration of protecting the private shareholders that prefer the privacy for their own safety.  These are some examples where the feature can be used and needed.  The feature is there for people to innovate a purpose to society rather then shutting the idea down.
18  Other / Off-topic / Re: How did you discover bitcoin? on: December 06, 2016, 05:59:43 AM
Back in the day of 2009 I heard about it but was hesitant to buy into digital currency and got married instead.  2011, a friend mentions me about a market place where you can buy anything you want.  He eventually died by an unknown substance purchased a "pharmaceutical" from the market.  During the time I was starting online classes for management and began discussions about bitcoin on my class forums.  I was not sure what to think about bitcoin after losing a friend over a market a negative reputation around the subject.  I eventually regained curiosity and wanted to learn more about cryptocurrency so I continued to involve topics in class discussions.  There was a variety of views and not many people knew much about Bitcoin.  Around 2014, I completed my bachelors and pursued my masters in business administration.  During this time I continued to discuss Bitcoin in my online class forums, and more people was interested on decentralized system, especially when the market value had extremes of appreciation and depreciation.  I guess my education expanded further thanks to implementing digital currency into my discussions.  However, I still wanted to learn more of the use to society and eventually involved myself to a few projects.  This exposure gave me a better understanding about what a project can be created from the technology and many benefits along with problems in development.  You may see a rise of new programs coming out from Bitcoin, but at the same time with scams.  Doing the due diligence in acquiring the research needed prior to involve oneself to any project required a bit of time to analyze the project's worth.  This is important when you have limited funds to invest into projects.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: December 01, 2016, 01:00:22 AM
Some new releases that were planned for 2017 and are released now:

Stratis Development Framework (SDF)
SDF .NET Core Native Cross platform Support.
SDF NuGet Package
Stratis Bitcoin Full node Consensus layer and Initial Blockchain Download (IBD) stratis-future.
Stratis Bitcoin Full node DBreeze integration for storing the blockchain.
Stratis Bitcoin Full node .NET Core support.

Excellent job stratis team!

I am really excited to see every deadline met for this project more than being a long term investor.  It is okay for large ICO holders to sell since they helped the project accomplish the first wave of deadlines.  Eventually new holders or smaller holders will grow to retain the tokens to ensure the support is still there for entry and growth.  Allowing the developer to do their work is what makes this project fascinating.  Honestly, every project has potential to grow and succeed, and for me to be positive in this idea is to ensure the cryptocommunity continues to flourish and expand to grow into something greater than a few bits and pieces of cash here and there.  It is understandable for people to want to buy/sell to improve financial gains, as long as they have a plan.

A good read for long term investors to think about when investing into anything especially with volatility of Bitcoin/altcoin projects:

Warren Buffet's Ground Rules by Jeremy C. Miller, "If we start deciding, based on guesses or emotions, whether we will or won’t participate in a business where we should have some long run edge, we’re in trouble. We will not sell our interest in businesses (stocks) when they are attractively priced just because some astrologer thinks the quotations may go lower even though such forecasts are obviously going to be right some of the time. Similarly, we will not buy fully priced securities because ‘experts’ think prices are going higher"

In the end, it's based on one's own perspective and research to mandate his/her decisions.  No matter what you invest, when the money comes out and goes to another hand, you are entrusting the risk for the return.  As for now, I am glad for the Stratis Team's accomplishments and the pace that they are going to update the timeline.  I would say the same of any project that are putting some contribution to the cryptocommunity and sharing the ideas to the world. I recently came across a thread on your forum about a coin contest. Where you are going to design a physical STRATIS.

As I am some what of a collector this was very intriguing for me. Any more news on when this contest will actually go live? I have some things in mind for a neat design that I'd love to participate with.

Other than that, keep up the good work. I see the price is fluctuating a lot, but IMO that is a good thing. 2017 will be the stable year for this coin, without a doubt in my mind.

Hi there, the coin contest has been delayed due to rebranding plans for Stratis.  New updates will be posted about the designs and logo as they come up.

Awh, allright. Well, better to make sure everything is 100% before launching such a contest. Thank you for the quick reply!

Also, could you tell me more about the rebranding plans? Or perhaps I should just go back a few pages in this thread?  Regardless, I do like that changes are on your mindsets right now, just hoping it will turn out good Cheesy

Hi again, feel free to join the Stratis Slack.  You can get plenty of your questions answered from developers and community.  Here is the invite link: https://stratisinvite.herokuapp.com.  As of now there seems to be works on a variety of improvements before the new year.  You can also back track to the previous discussions about the project's development on Slack.
