SSL will not protect your mining address from casual observers. The mining address is in the URL you request which is visible to the network even when SSL/TLS is implemented.
Don't think so. AFAIK the transfer of the complete URL is already encrypted.

Hey guys, there is 7.5M USD merchandise in the warehouse that needs to be sold within, I would say, the next 4 to 6 weeks.

Anyone knows what the Exchange position in cashflow sheet is?

Edit:

OK, I just noticed the 4K BTC Exchange in Expenses seems to be the 2M USD in Income.

Hi.  Quick post.

Yes, still alive. Yes, pool is fine. Yes, have been keeping up with maintenance and ongoing DDoS mitigation.  Yes, I've been extremely overworked the past month or so to the point where I'm seeking alternative enployment.  Yes, th e payout queue is a little long, but fixes I have in place have kept it from growing out of control. No, I haven't had time to do a manual catch up recently, sorry.  Yes, I've been putting the little time I have towards maintenance and updates behind the scenes and less on forums and IRC.

Long story short, pool is fine and is being maintained.

Thanks for the update wiz. But unfortunately no word about NMC. What's the schedule?

Another noob question... god I hate being a noob! lol...  Cheesy

Your bitcoin wallet does not have to be online for a transaction? Example: when Slush's Pool sends your rewards. Its wrapped up in a block transaction and next time your wallet is online and updates it should show there?

Is that right?
Yes.

thanks Powell

but what about the 5 to 7 words part?  or do they mean 5 to 7 letters?

and will this change the 'root' user login name when SSHing into miner?

With the 5 to 7 word sentence, I assume they mean the new password you have to enter. They want to bring you to use a strong password if you access your rig from the Internet. If you are behind a router or firewall in a private LAN and don't want have access from outside it doesn't matter.

Admin account is the username you used to log in into the webinterface. Normally it was "admin".

Management Network: If you access only from within your local LAN, leave it to "LAN". Otherwise please explain your situation first.

Edit: I think it will also change your root password (didn't try it respectively entred my old password). AFAIK if you change your root password in the shell with "passwd" it will not change your "admin" password for the miner website. If you change the "admin" password in the miners website, it will also change your root password.

There is a problem. We found a block some minutes ago, but it's not showing up in the stats.

Sorry guys, I don't get it. What has my GMail account to do with the GAuth app on my smartphone.

Nothing.  They're two different things.  I'm just saying that I prefer 2FA via an e-mail instead of Google Authenticator.

That's my understanding. So I don't have a clue how empoweoqwj's Havelock account could be robbed.

Sorry guys, I don't get it. What has my GMail account to do with the GAuth app on my smartphone. Even if the GMail account is hacked, I don't see how to get control over the GAuth 2FA (particularly th secret keys) on the phone. Can someone explain?

Edit: typo

I'd guess his mail account got compromised. It's simply the biggest hole you can get through. I guess it's futile to discuss what is 'probable' because why would someone do something improbable - because it is improbable. Circular logic, we'll have to wait and see...
Is 2FA disabled when you request a new password? I don't think so.

But in case of Google Mail you could have control over the 2FA authenticating entity...
ok

Hi everyone. I'm new to bitcoin mining and have a question about Eligius. As I understand, in order to merge-mine namecoins, I simply need to add my namecoin address to the options page. Before submitting the changes I need to "sign" the message generated by Eligius. I have done all of this using bitcoin-qt to generate the signature and the signature was accepted by Eligius. I have read that it takes only an hour for the changes to take place but now it's 24 hours later and don't see any indication that I am now merge-mining namecoins. I expected to see an indication on the web page with my user statistics (http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/<My bitcoin address>) but didn't see any.

I tried going to a user statistics page with my namecoin address (http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/<My namecoin address>), but got the message ""Error: Username <my namecoin address> not found in database." How can I know that I am mining namecoins?
There's nothing you can see besides the NMC going into your wallet from time to time.
Thanks robix, I thought that might be the case. To get some experience, I'm using an antminer U1 while waiting for a larger pre-ordered machine. I'll have to set the threshold as low as possible, so I can find out whether it's working in a reasonable amount of time.

Your welcome. If your NMC address is set correctly, that is it shows up on your My Eligius page, it should work.
