Getting ~226sol/s with sapphire hd7970 ghz (1150/1525), peaks at 235sol/s, modded bios and claymore's v8 (-i 6)

can't run stable at 1575mhz with modded bios
Mine goes up to 1650 stable.

Think will be nice to update the 1st post with adding this bios also. Seems quite good. Running for already 4 days stable, without crashes even overclocked to 1150/1575mhz

Try this:

http://www.filedropper.com/tahitimd1

this is modded from a Sapphire HD 7970 3G OC w boost, Hynix AFR.  It should actually work on your 280x as well.

My sapphire hd7970 GHz with modded bios gives ~184sol/s (1150/1575). Sometimes peaks at 190sol/s
Seems to be nice result

~ 114 per card on R9 280x
~ 113 per card on 7970
Got about the same on stock 7970, while one with modded bios gives 137+ sol/s, peaking at almost 150sol/s

Total $1,985.67

Yep, guys. That is the time when I do really love the thing that I live in Ukraine, where 1kWh costs about ~$0.03 with all taxes included xD

Hello there,

is there anybody who will mode my Bios HD7970 Sapphire Vapor X GHZ edition for ZEC mining please??It's Hynix AFR.
Original Bios is here:
https://ulozto.cz/!irAvZqBdNeFZ/sapphire-hd7970-3072-130711-rom
or here (it's the same)
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/151332/sapphire-hd7970-3072-130711

I'll be very gratefull if somebody do it for me
I can flash Bios but I am too noob to change the timing in Hex Editor

Thank you very much

As a temp solution until we have correct bios, try flashing this one. It is working with my vapor-x ghz, now more than 24h stable ~83-88 sol/s

ASUS R9 280X with HYNIX AFR memory

Slight undervolt to 1.075V, 1070/1600.
MSI Might say 1375 for mem but its 1600 since I didn't update the previous DPM field in VBE.

my toxic has (H5GQ2H24AFR    hynix memory)

Better try first one, which is for
ASUS R9 280X with HYNIX AFR memory.

This one worked with my sapphire hd 7970 and is stable for more than 10 hrs

Really surprising its actually hashing for you since its a completely different manufacteur even.
Yep, agree it is. But it is stable for 30mins already. Will report after 24h

Have a Sapphire HD7970 Vapor-X GHz Edition(3GB, HYNIX AFR memory)
Stock bios was giving ~52sol/s (1050/1500)
Tried GIGABYTE 7970 with HYNIX AFR Memory, OS started but mining failed(0.0 sol/s)
After that flashed ASUS R9 280X with HYNIX AFR memory.
And now my GPU gives ~83-87sol/s, peaking at 96sol/s in Claymore's v4.0

i5-4440, 3.1GHz gives ~ 17-19 sol/s, -t 4

And laptop with
i7-4712MQ, 2.3GHz gives ~16-18sol/s, -t 8
