1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Ethereum Maintain Its Lead? on: October 03, 2025, 10:59:18 PM
The only way ETH will die is if developers stop working on it. By that, I mean no development progress or innovation whatsoever. Development is on-going, so ETH will remain "King" forever. Just my opinion Smiley

The only thing keeping ETH afloat rn is the fact that they had the first mover advantage for altcoins with actual utility for the token and it was the first ever smart contracts platform with programmatic capabilities. But since Ethereum itself is constantly being updated, I don't think these newer chains like solana have any firepower to take the second spot. Not yet at least because even these newer chains have their own flaws.

Next phase of development I see going on Ethereum is likely privacy and more scalability especially since it's being made out to be the house of all cryoto finance.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto's "Endgame" on: October 03, 2025, 10:53:15 PM
I've always had concerns about Bitcoin's future at the time when block rewards are no longer available and awarded to miners. The hope is that the transaction fees will be enough to inventivize miners to continue processing transactions on the network. I have shared those concerns in the bitcoin discussion section of the forum but they are immediately dismissed and often classified as fud. We won't likely be alive to witness it so it's hard to say.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are major sports RIGGED? Betting on the “Script” vs Stats on: October 03, 2025, 10:44:15 PM
I have heard many chatter over the years that some games are rigged from time to time even the big games. Do I believe there are rigged games? Yes. But I don't rely on them to make my decisions about bets I take because there is no way to get credible information about "rigged" games when the match is yet to start. You can only begin to observe some of those patterns when the game is already far gone or when the odds have dropped.

If I had insider info about stuffs like that, it's literally free money with no stress to make unlimited money but then, I don't have such access so I stick to statistics and analysis primarily for my bets.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling History an Infographic| Any Idea about the Next Gambling Evolution? on: October 03, 2025, 10:34:21 PM
Idk but I think next trend will likely align with the overall technological trend of the world which is AI. The current evolution which is online gambling became possible thanks to internet and the world wide web. That's why I think the next phase will likely have to do with AI as to the exact specifics, I don't think everyone know now. That said, I think the current meta will continue for at least 2 to3 more decades before we start to see any decent innovations to the gambling industry from AI or any new tech that disrupts the industry.

Aston Villa performed well from the start of this match but could not score before half time. Although the opposing team Feyenoord team players were quite busy at the start, and both teams were leading for a long time due to their great performance and hard work. But suddenly Aston Villa team attacked in an instant and got success in the attack.
This game was the most accepted Aston Villa team in terms of betting and betting list, but unfortunately this match was won by Aston Villa team with normal results. However, I predicted that Aston villa will be able to make the biggest difference in this match.

True that. Nobody (including myself) expected Aston Villa to win yesterday because they (Villa) have been in a terrible form since the start of the season and only got their first game of the season barely 2 weeks ago. Feyenoord on the other hand have had a stellar performance in the eredivisie league this season. So betting on Feyenoord was the logical move given their good form +home advantage.

Oh, I didn't make any bets myself. I'm yet to recover from the heavy loss I got from Barcelona's loss to PSG. Roll Eyes
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2025/26 Season on: October 02, 2025, 10:54:29 PM
It's good to see that Aston Villa are back to winning ways. The last 2 weeks has been really good to them compared to the first few games of the season. I'm glad they won even though they did so at the expense of Feyenoord losing at home.

In other news, Roma and Celtic lost at home which is very disappointing to see. I had hope that they would win.

How did Y'all bets go?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anticipating Falcon (FF) Listing and Market Reaction on: September 28, 2025, 10:49:53 PM
What is Falcon's value proposition? I just know they have a stablecoin with about $2B in TVL but I don't know how Falcon is different from other projects in the same line of work or how it compares to other projects in the same niche. Welp, I'm sidelined on it and wish everyone that got the tokens (from presale or airdrop) well. It's going to be on my radar for a while but it's not something I have conviction on since I barely know how they stack vs other projects.
8  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu encourage Nigerians on: September 28, 2025, 10:41:46 PM
Iirc, Buhari held numerous press conferences to address our naija people and still, nothing changed. I think these people just host these periodic conferences to calm people down and 10/10 times, nothing has changed. Funny thing be say all this hardship wey dey the country, e no dey reach presido or these politicians. All of them dey live soft life yet them go tell our people to maintain the struggle
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The liquidation wave triggered by the Fed's rate cut on: September 28, 2025, 10:25:51 PM
We didn't even get a decent bounce after the rate cut news dropped. So  when we got the red days, I just figured that the news was already priced in. Stocks and equities were going to new ATHs almost every day and everyone thought that rate cuts will be +EV for crypto and that we'd finally get our own ATHs. I think that's the reason why the market of over leveraged during that time and we got the highest ever liquidation day since 2023.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Trading and Emotions on: September 28, 2025, 10:07:13 PM
I got massively rekt earlier in the year during the time Trump introduced tariffs earlier in the year because I was revenge trading my ETH loss. The trade was going in my direction for most of the time until when everything started going down and it was down only for about 2 months straight. Revenge trading is something I've learnt the hard way and I'm still building the discipline to behave myself regardless of the size of the loss.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Sports Betting Here to Stay? on: September 28, 2025, 09:58:08 PM
    ~Snip

That is true. As long as there is sports, any kind of sports, sportsbetting will continue. Some sports may become obsolete or will stop permanently, but I don't think sports will stop. Because that's part of human life already. It would be too dull and boring if sports is eradicated in our history. So yes, as long as there is sports, sportsbetting will be there.
Just think of the fact that a lot of popular personalities are athletes from different sports, the reason why sports are popular across the globe. Somehow, people are rooting for at least one or two athletes of their chosen sports.
On the note of betting, I only bet if I am rooting for certain athlete/s. And I have good feeling about the game. Otherwise, I just watch and wait for the results of the game.

You just hit the nail on the head. Sports is a way of life and I don't think it's ever going to go obsolete. So as long as life continues, people will always find a way to bet on the outcome of these sports events. Unlike you, I can bet on sports event even though I'm not a fan of the team. However, more often than not, I bet on games when I'm rooting for the teams. This weekend, I saw the Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona games so I bet on all of them except Liverpool game.

I'm a Liverpool fan and because of that, any bet I make on them is a biased pick.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Sports Betting Here to Stay? on: September 28, 2025, 08:16:19 PM
Do you agree that sports betting has more staying power than other games?

As long as there are sport events, there would always be sports gambling and sports have been around for the longest times and even higher educational institutions build most of their programs around sports. So it's old yet very fundamental.

What do you think keeps it popular, and if you bet on sports yourself, what’s the main reason you do it?[/li]
I bet on sports because I enjoy the game. Aside from the fun side of it, I also do it for the bragging rights and making money off my knowledge of something I genuinely enjoy seemed like a no-brainer so I kept at it. I'm not a big fan of casino games but sports betting has been my forte and it would continue to be for the foreseeable future.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Lightning Network Really the Future of Bitcoin Payments? on: September 28, 2025, 07:59:12 PM
I haven't used lightning network since the inception because the one time I tried to use it, it was super buggy and it wasn't even easy to setup per se. I saw this thread and thought maybe maybe the tech has improved but going through the replies, it seems not to be the case. I don't know the full story behind LN but I tend to think LN and other bitcoin development stuff like sidechains. Non-Ethereum Bitcoin layer 2s, etc haven't found much success is because bitcoin is not a full fledged smart contract platform.

But then again, Ethereum is a full fledged smart contract platform yet suffers from the same issues as Bitcoin especially when it comes to micro payments.
    14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2025/26 | Group Phase on: September 28, 2025, 07:22:11 PM
I think the English side will go far in this competition this season by the look of things.

That's always the expectation although this time, the reality is looking different because both Aston villa and Nottingham are no where near the form they were at last season that enabled them to qualify in the UEL in the first place. Well, it's still too early to make such predictions so I made be wrong too for underestimating EPL teams simply because current form is horrible.

Maybe we'd see things turn around (or not).
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season in "Uptober"? on: September 27, 2025, 10:59:31 PM
If you look at the previous years data, October to december are usually periods thar favor altcoins more than they do bitcoin even though bitcoin will go up too. Bitcoin dominance on the other hand will suffer because alts will likely go up higher than bitcoin will go before go into what might be a climaxing end to the bull run unless Trump and all other factors decide that we are worthy to break out of the 4-year crypto market cycle.

    TLDR: Uptober is for alts.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yield-Bearing Stablecoins: Would They Deliver ? on: September 27, 2025, 10:55:29 PM
Yield bearing stablecoins are here to stay imo. I think it is +EV to hold yield bearing stablecoins  (as long as their protocol is safe and peg is intact) vs holding USDT or at worst, holding US dollars. The banks and government are afraid of yield bearing stablecoins not because those stablecoins might depeg and cause havoc like that UST stablecoin by Luna but because it would mean that most people will move from fiat to just holding this yield bearing stablecoins.

Ethena for instance uses a delta neutral strategy to generate yields for its stablecoins holders which is pretty neat if you ask me

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Social Media influencers on: September 27, 2025, 10:47:59 PM
As the day goes by, I get to see more and more celebrities and even top influencers on social media promoting some gambling site. There was a time most of the top Twitter influencers were using stake logo as watermark for all photos in their banger threads and posts even though the topic of the post isn't related to gambling. I think this is something that would continue to go on and on as the gambling industry has been one of the most profitable in the last decade.
    18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 23/24 - discussion thread on: September 27, 2025, 10:38:30 PM
Ajax won today and even though they didn't move in the eredivisie standings (still 3rd), they're now only 1 point behind Feyenoord. If Feyenoord loses tomorrow, then it gives PSV and Ajax a chance to cut the point gap to to a bare minimum of 0 and 1 point respectively.

Tomorrow, Feyenoord will play against 5th place Groningen side, and I'm expecting them to get out with a minimum of 1 point because i think they want to keep the gap between themselves and the likes of PSV and Ajax for as long as possible.

That said, my final prediction is double chance (x2).
    19  Economy / Gambling / Re: 👑 CoinRoyale.com - Original Bitcoin Casino | Trusted Since 2013 ✔️ on: September 27, 2025, 10:29:56 PM
No, Inter only won. Southampton's game is in a few days (the system just displays the potential winnings this way... which can be confusing).

If this was a parley, I'm sorry but Southampton have destroyed it because they couldn't win Middlesbrough. It ended 1-1. This is why I'm always double chancing my selections whenever I go down to the championship to pick games.

Looks quiet here but I hope your bets haven't been quiet and you guys have had wins in recent times because I know I've recent wins. I've taken a step back a bit from my minimum 3 odd strategy since I was on a losing streak that nearly took me to zero.

Now I just go for any odds from as long as it's +EV to do so and luckily, I have 5x my bankroll that was almost annihilated

20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2025/26 Season on: September 27, 2025, 10:10:30 PM
    ~Snip

In fact, there are people who expect record breaking number of goals to be conceded, and that will be the real trouble. If they get scored 6 or more goals, that will be humiliating. So that is why they couldn't concentrate on this game, but even if it was just a simple 1-0 win and a lot of luck involved, it's still three points and that's all that matters.

I'm not sure what these people you mentioned are thinking but that's not it. Liverpool have had difficulties this season even though they have won all but 1 game so far this season in all competitions and talking about those games,, they didn't win any of them convincingly. That's how I know that Galatasaray has a chance. I won't be surprised if we get a UCL upset or at least a draw in turkey.

I'm a Liverpool fan btw. I'm only saying this because people might be exaggerating Liverpool's form right now.
