We saw some great football in Eredivisie. PSV - Ajax game ended 2:2. I would say that PSV were a bit better team today, but draw probably is fair score because Ajax also had enough moments.
AZ Alkmaar - Feyenoord game was amazing too. 3:3 final result and AZ only got positive result after scoring penalty on 90+8 minute.
Maybe this season we will see 3 horses racing for title like it was few years ago?

Feyenoord with a Red card was able to fight back and got a point after they went behind AZ Alkmaar in the second half feyenoord showed class in this game because I thought that AZ Alkmaar has won the game when they 2:1 up.

Yeah PSV messed up my prediction big time. Considering they were up twice in the match yet conceded equalisers for both times is disappointing. But it's a good thing Feyenoord didn't drop all points as well. This means they still stay on top of the table even though they couldn't take the full advantage of PSV, Ajax and AZ all dropping points today. If they're serious, there would be many other opportunities to do so over the course of the season.

What a performance from both matches, the 2 derbies were worthy to watch, this is showing how competitive this league will be this season. Well, I expected a draw at least in one of the fixtures but not in this fashion.

Ajax pulled out a worthy performance though I would say they were lucky also because PSV deserve to get all 3 points today, they created more chances only if they were able to burry them they would have gotten all 3 points today. It was a good game, especially for the spectators, we really enjoyed this one.

Feyenoord got a vital point away from home, though they will be disappointed that they didn’t all 3 points as a late equalizer came from a penalty spot. Feyenoord looks different this season and I think they might have a big say in this season league title.

In my opinion, Ajax and PSV will lose points in the following games, while Feyenoord will gain points. I believe that this season Feyenoord has a better chance of winning the title than Ajax and PSV. Only if I see Ajax at the top of the table with a big advantage will I be convinced that they also have a chance. As for PSV, they can become dangerous in the last league games like last season, but if they stay at the top of the table with a big advantage in points, then I will be convinced that they will be champions. Since we are still at the beginning of the season, making predictions about who will be champions is very complicated.

They are currently occupying the second position because ajax didn't win..This is the same way they messed up my bet slip when i placed a bet of them to win union In he UEFA champions league...it is advisable to just avoid psv for now in every game because they are not really as serious as they used to be...if they don't take their time they might hit rock bottom because other teams can take over if they relent

That's what I've been saying this season. I think this season, We'd have PSV vs Ajax vs Feyenoord. I know PSV team is super OP in the eredivisie but I'm tipping Feyenoord to fight for the title and win it. Even though they don't win it, I suspect they'd end up with second place as the bare minimum considering the quality of Ajax performances often drop as the season progresses (which is how they lost the league title last season).

AZ and Feyenoord drew 3-3. AZ's goal came in stoppage time, and Feyenoord couldn't prevent it. AZ are lucky to earn the point, Feyenoord are disappointed.

Not the best game for Feyenoord, but they still should've won that. They were leading 3-2 but, in the 90th minute, Ahmedhodzic got reckless and earned himself a 2nd yellow card, which gave AZ an extra motivation.
AZ pushed harder and earned a penalty kick which they converted into a goal, resulting in a draw.
I can't say I agree with the referee's decision to give that last-minute penalty to Alkmaar. I think he caved to the pressure of AZ fans, if anything else. I don't think there was any real contact there. But it is what it is.

But that loss of points wasn't very harmful to Feyenoord, as PSV and Ajax also split points, so the Rotterdam team is still in the lead with a 3-point advantage over the 2nd PSV.

In a match where the two teams were evenly matched, PSV and Ajax drew 2-2. We know how strong both teams are. PSV hasn't looked to be in top form lately. They also lost at home in the Champions League. They need to start a recovery process now, or this year will be a year where they'll miss out on the title in the Dutch province. Feyenoord currently leads the league, and while their rivals behind are dropping points, they're climbing the leaderboard.

AZ gave up a first half lead to draw against zwolle at home. This was a less competitive game because zwolle as a team is not a traditional team that is known too much in the eredivisie. These are game's that teams like AZ Alkmaar supposed to get all three points at home, but a fine display From zwolle getting points away from home against a team like zwolle.

Ajax won today and even though they didn't move in the eredivisie standings (still 3rd), they're now only 1 point behind Feyenoord. If Feyenoord loses tomorrow, then it gives PSV and Ajax a chance to cut the point gap to to a bare minimum of 0 and 1 point respectively.

Tomorrow, Feyenoord will play against 5th place Groningen side, and I'm expecting them to get out with a minimum of 1 point because i think they want to keep the gap between themselves and the likes of PSV and Ajax for as long as possible.

That said, my final prediction is double chance (x2).

I expected AZ to win this game, I even thought about betting on their victory, but as I left, I ended up forgetting and when I came back the game was already very close to ending and I was a little surprised with this result which showed that AZ was losing, I thought if in the last 10 minutes maybe the guys would tie, so I stayed watching the game, but to my shock



The AZ player got a red card. I said to myself, what the hell are these guys doing? They're losing and they're going to hurt themselves even more. At that moment, I had no doubt they would lose. The odds were so low in favor of NEC that it wasn't worth betting on them. So, since I was watching the game, I stayed until the end. What kept running through my head was: how did they manage to score 3 goals against Feyenoord? They played well that day. I watched their game against Feyenoord, and then they declined after that game. I don't understand.

In my opinion, the biggest surprise of the week in the Netherlands was NEC's win over AZ. While NEC had started the league very well, I thought they might lose the match, as their opponents, AZ, are one of the strongest teams in the Netherlands. But I was wrong; NEC took the three points after 90 minutes. Telstar's four-goal victory over Go Ahead was another noteworthy result.

This is a big shock to almost everyone, especially to those they really follow the Netherlands league. It was a match that if AZ Alkmaar had won they would be in the top 3 of the league. Though, I didn’t lose my gamble on this game because I’m always cautious when a team is playing away from home, I gambled on 3 or more goals to be scored.

The lost has happened already they need to move pass that and focus on the next game, they just have to pick all 3 points when they lost Telstar at home this coming weekend. Well I think AZ Alkmaar will do much better this season, just that no one expected their first defeat of the season should come against Nijmegen.

With the champions League , Europa and conference league back this week all attention will be in the teams, which are representing the eredivisie in Europe. The performance of teams From Netherlands especially in the champions League were not encouraging in the opening game of the champions League.i hope that they should improve on their play and start getting a good result.


There were a lot of goals in the Eredivisie this weekend with team's like dropping points, one league that I like so much is the eredivisie because there is a high level of competition in this league.

Another loss for Ajax in the Champions League. Last week they suffered a defeat at home from Inter, losing 2-0 and today, despite a slight advantage in shots on goal and possession, they got badly beaten 4-0 by Olympique Marseille. I expected Ajax to put up a better fight, as I think Marseille is on a similar level, but the result tells a different story.
Tomorrow PSV is playing away against Leverkusen and they are an underdog, despite Leverkusen having some problems early in the season, resulting in the change of the head coach.

So far things are not looking very bright for the Dutch teams, but maybe PSV will be able to grab at least a point tomorrow.

We have pretty much the same every year, the big 3 are competing against each other for the top spots, while the rest of the league is battling for the 4th spot (there have been some exceptions to this rule).
In the last season, Feyenoord seemed a bit behind PSV and Ajax, they finished at 3rd place but had 10 points less than the 2nd Ajax, so it's good to see them having such a strong start to the current season.
Unfortunately, Eredivisie seems to be getting weaker when comparing its level to the rest of the European leagues, as evidenced by poor results in the Champions League so far. Although PSV managed to earn a point in their tonight's game with Leverkusen, I guess that could be counted as a success.

I noticed something weird with this league. Today, PSV won and are currently on same points as Feyenoord (19 points) but they are ahead of Feyenoord in terms of goal difference 14 vs Feyenoord's 11. However, Feyenoord is still placed above PSV. It's not an issue just a small observation on my part because leagues like the English Premier League, placements are updated in real time with all things considered (points, GD, etc).

Feyenoord plays against Utrecht tomorrow and I'm tempted to take a stab at them for the win. My thesis for this is simple; they want to increase the gap between them, PSV and Ajax.
