I am not a customer of BitInstant, but the way some of you (not all of you) are treating these support representatives is atrocious. I understand you're frustrated, I understand that you want your money, but some of you seem to forget that on the other side of that keyboard is a human being. I'm not going to take a side in this "BitInstant fraud" debate. On a personal level, even in just the interviews I've seen with Charlie, he is an incredibly good human being. I doubt his/his company's intent is to defraud anyone. Considering the sheer volume of complaints I've seen, they're probably practically crushed under the amount they have. All in all, remember basic human decency folks. I understand you're upset, but that gives you no license to treat another human being in the way you have done so far.
I reserve the right to freak out on any business or person who works for a business that is stealing my money. Anyone who trusts Bitinstant with their money again knowing all these past issues is asking for it in my opinion. I found cheaper and easier ways to get my coins. I equate what they were doing as fraud and I hope they get their buts handed to them in court. These stupid pictures and updates they are posting are a joke. Nobody believes you Bitinstant and nobody cares. I'm sure when you come back online though there will be a line full of dummies ready to give you their money.

update: Where did you go?

We're working hard here at doing nothing. We took the Winklefags money and partied it away after we were done robbing our customers. Now they will have to sue us in court like Mark Zuckerberg.  We're busy doing coke and banging strippers and thank you for your donations. We ran out of pictures to show you that make us look busy but hope you will just believe us. We plan to run 1/2 off specials where we only steal half your money and guarantee it within 8 weeks of your payment. Thank you for your support people.

Yours truly, The BitNotSoInstant Team

http://www.bitcoin-brokers.org/

I just used a much better service the other day (See above link). Look them up on this forum and you will see my post as well as others from here on them. Great people. A few extra steps but nothing too hard. 2% charge to buyers and none to sellers but correct me if i am wrong on this. now 400 dollar minimum to buy but i was waived for a 300 dollar purchase 2 days ago. Flawless. You request a quote and from a specific bank or banks on their list. They give to you and you have to 6PM to deposit it and scan or photo the receipt and business card of teller to send to them. They hold coins in escrow from the seller the whole time. Once the receipt is sent to the seller the seller has 24 hours to view and release funds or it will go to resolution. My response from seller and release of coins took 1.5 hours/  then 5 more hours to get to wallet. really easy.

Edit: bitcoin rate is locked in when you make the bank deposit per the current MTGOX rate at that time. I deposited 300 would have received 294 in coins but from fluxuation going up it cost me 3 dollars. I was super pleased. They are super fast so far to respond and only weeks or maybe 1 month old. But very nice to deal with and honest from my experience. For what it is worth i liked them. If they stay and bitinstant returns i will not use bitinstant.

One small quibble I have is having to ask for a business card from the teller. This was a bit awkward in both cases, as it prompted them to try and sell me banking services.

1. If the minimum transaction had been $400 when I first looked at the site, I would have never tried it. That amount is out of my comfort zone for a first transaction with a service like this. I would have simply moved on.

2. I recognized the need to have a relatively high minimum. Clearly your service requires significant manual intervention. With that said, $400 seems a bit on the high side for many buyers. I typically buy amounts in the $250-$300 range, so I'll probably not use the service as often as I might otherwise. I understand of course that if you already have more customers than you can handle with the $400 minimum there is no reason the reduce it.

In summary, I really like the service. Much more so than I though I would, actually. Very professional and fast judging by the limited transactions I've done. I do wish the minimum were just a bit lower, though. Even $300 would be good...

I have to agree with this persons opinion on the 400 dollar minimum although i am very appreciate of the waiving on this for me today given my situation last week and it being a ticket previously started.
Next I have to suggest the process with the request of a buisness card from the teller being changed or not applying to Chase Bank at least. The teller looked at me like i was nuts when i asked and told me tellers there do not have or give out business cards. They have their first name on the receipt however along with the drawer # (station) they are working from along with the time date/stamp. I had to get a card from a Manager or Bank rep to feel confident i would not have issues. Does this vary from bank to bank as for Chase it seems to be standard. Maybe this policy can be modified and explained on the FAQ page to help newbies. Just feedback and suggestions I still loved the service I received. The service fee was actually 6 dollars for purchasing 300 dollars in coins but the increase in coin value made it a 3 dollar cost only.

I'm always nervous with this type of service and being my first time with you guys it just had me a bit on edge. It's a complicated business and It seems that when i finally understand it something changes lol. I truly appreciate your consideration and professionalism. I mean it cost me less than 3 dollars for depositing 300. With the fluxuation of the market i could have probably waiting a day and had more money than i even deposited. However 1.5 hours from when i emailed you the proof of deposit the seller ok'd the release and you guys sent the funds. 5 hours for the 41 blockchain confirmations and i received my coins. You guys are the best. keep it up. I've slammed other companies really hard lately for their issues so i do not give out compliments easily but you deserve it. You were all so nice to deal with. Thank you.

I seriously hope that this 400 minimum will be waived in my case as i did not read this until now and was given a quote by Dan for 300 dollars today. I've already deposited my money as well and not one word of this was mentioned to me. First time using this service so hopefully i will not regret it. Anyway uploaded my JPEG scan of receipt and business card via email to Daniel. Your website won't allow me to submit it there. I tried 4 times.

The original ticket request was actually from 1 week ago when you were so busy you could not fill my order because you sold out. Maybe this is why the 400 minimum was not mentioned.

I'm glad some of your experiences were good  but you can't ignore the huge volume of people that got robbed of their money and never got their funds. I myself had several good experiences with them and 2 that had me waiting for a week to get my money. By the time i got it the value of the bitcoin changed severely and i lost money. My tickets i submitted about that were ignored as we my PM's. I was desperate and did one last transaction at the end of last month around June 25th and got lucky as it was processed in my account in 2 hours. The next day is when the sh!t hit the fan and all this chaos started again. It appears as though many had issues before and after that date that either took weeks to resolve or never got resolved. USRAY is no longer an employee and will not answer PM's. No Bitinstant rep will answer PMS here or on their support tickets. The info they post on twitter is clearly lies as they kept telling people in certain states the site was working and people got robbed of their money and/or severely delayed. They never posted which states were actually working and which were not but referred people to their blog to get that information which is as much of a lie as any other they have told. They have pictures up on their site that make it look like they are working hard on getting things resolved which is a freaking joke. Seriously what does that prove. I bet that picture is not even of their employees or even from their office. It is possible they will get back up and running but I'm done with them. I just find it laughable that members here want to defend them and assume all these issues are from people making mistakes and defending Bitinstant. I guess some people are either a member of their company or someone who was lucky and didn't take it in the butt. Like i said I've had success with them and also been screwed by them. While they resolved it and paid me this was after 4 days and 8 days and I lost alot of money because they paid out the bitcoin quantity from when i placed the order not when the cheaters actually filled it. Other people making the same transaction as me at the same time had successful transactions. I believe they were in fact doing this to stay in business. My 2 failures both said "insufficient funds". And NO i made no mistakes with my information on either of those 2 transactions. They were broke and robbing people. Now the Winkleboss Twins are partnered up.....wow yeah i really trust them now.......Joke Joke. I respect other people's opinions but i do not dismiss them if i disagree and I am entitled to my own.

LOL now they changed their message to "please read our blog update about transactions in some states". Meanwhile nothing in on the blog and no updates are available about what states are working. Still ignored in the help forum for support also. Aholes.

I already found alternative ways to fund my coins that are reliable. I think they will eventually get these issues resolved but i don't care as i will never use them again. There are other ways some easy but more expensive and some harder but cheaper to make it happen. I am on vacation shortly and i am planning on setting up numerous alternatives so i will never be tempted because of desperation to use Bitinstant again. I am offended deeply by the lack of response or truthful explanations going on now and in the past. I already found a way to get a small amount of coins into my account and it took only 12 hours but cost me 15%. I've got alternative ways that will be much cheaper and then i will purchase what i really need once set up. I suggest others do the same. Let them know how you feel by ensuring you never use them again. Over a week now with not 1 rep from their company responding in this forum. They ignore PM's also and only give generic automated responses to tickets submitted not to mention their website won't function for going on at least 2 weeks not even including all the past issues.  That is unacceptable.

I suppose it depends on what state you live in if you can use their service. It's not working where I am located and look at how many people are waiting on their coins for long periods of time. They are so disorganized now they can not even respond to people who have paid money and not received their coins. They can not provide a reasonable explanation or a time frame in which things will be resolved. What kind of professionalism or good business is that. They don't care about their customers enough to take them seriously because they are the only one with this kind of service. There are a lot of other ways however to obtain bitcoins and you do not need a bank account or to give your personal information. I will not use them again.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: July 07, 2013, 11:32:11 PM
Ok well i give up. Screw Bitinstant now as i will never used them again. I found a more expensive way to get my coins and various other ways to fund my money straight to exchanges. Those processes will take longer but that's fine. If i need it immediately there are people that will charge 15% and i can do the transaction by just buying a moneypak or reloadit card as i just did. Middle finger to Bitinstant and the Winklefuck twins.

Ya i see now what you're talking about. I can still put money in Dwolla and use it but that won't do me much good. However there are bitcoin dealers on "localbitcoins.com" that accept payment through Dwolla and appear to have a good reputation but that doesn't seem safe. The only other option I have found was doing an international bank transfer to Bitstamp which i have an account with and have purchased coins through several times. I just have no clue how to go about that but i guess i could educate myself. Anyone have suggestions on another way? I really only need $100 in bitcoins and this is pissing me off.

I just logged into Dwolla too so wtf are you talking about?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: July 04, 2013, 08:38:05 PM
Well apparently meyoumeyou did 2 transaction just the other day and they were successful. If i find it is back up and running I'll do a low level amount to test it first. I PM'd USRAY and although he is active i am not getting a response so i also just PM'd Yankee. I wouldn't assume that USRAY got let go due to lack of funds. He could have quit from all the pressure and abuse he was taking due to all these issues. A lot of these issues do turn out to be from people entering in wrong info as i myself kind of did once. I had transferred funds to an exchange that had stopped dealing in Bitcoins unbeknownst to me because i had not recently checked the exchange website. I got my money though a week later thanks to help from Rachel.

If anyone knows another way to purchase coins please advise. I may just finish registering at Dwolla and go that route. I was already registered there with my bank account and the suckers were requiring all kinds of information to make me re-register. It aggravated me so much i just started using Bitinstant.  Anyone have advice...please?

BI isnt working? since when? I sent to separate transaction today and both were credited instantly.
I'm really confused as i just used this 1 week ago and it went perfectly. It reads this on the website"We are conducting maintenance on our backend that will affect transactions for Mt Gox and bitcoin purchases temporarily." Maybe it is just temporary i hope. I'll have to try again friday i suppose. It's just aggravating.

I really don't get how Bitinstant can have so many issues for so long. I wish i knew a better way of sending coins to my wallet and if someone can provide some advice i would greatly appreciate it. I've used Bitinstant in the past and all transactions were successful although there were some delays and hiccups that were not my fault. It's just frustrating because whenever it seems to be important for me to use this service they are experiencing problems.

USRAY - any word on why Bitinstant is not working or how long it will be down. I notice you haven't posted in a week so it would be nice to hear from you or any Bitinstant Rep. It's bad business to keep your customers in the dark with no word of what is going on.

I just wanted to post that I had used BitInstant in the past for Dwolla-MtGox and it was a nightmare. I took a risk yesterday and tried BitInstant cash to bitcoin wallet deposit and it was successful and instant. By the time I got home, the bitcoins were in my wallet.

I also successfully did a cash deposit yesterday to btc and it was in my wallet almost immediately after I paid.

I just did a cash deposit to btc and it is not in my wallet yet even though it says it was sent. How long does this normally take USRAY.

Very cool. Thank you USRAY. I'll give this another try. I did get my previous issue resolved and have had success with Bitinstant before so I believe i should give you guys another chance. Thanks for the quick response.

Our systems are updated to handle more customer volume.  We also have more employees to handle that volume.  If you do have an issue with your order (unlikely) then you can log it at bitinstant.com/contact and I'll have eyes on it right away!  Smiley
ok well I just gave it a try. I did a deposit to bitcoin address and it's not there yet but it's only been 30 minutes. I'll keep my fingers crossed I guess. I really am not sure how long this way takes but i guess i will find out.

Give me your order ID # and I'll take a look!  Wink

That's a quote ID and not an order ID #.  Regardless, your order has been completed...  Smiley

i see that it says completed however nothing has reached my account. Is this meant to take a while?

Ha..nevermind....the funds just got there. Cool I am happy to see this service back to normal. Very smooth. Thanks USRAY.
