1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does intent matter? on: September 16, 2025, 03:51:15 AM
Though, there is need for knowledge and the crypto community is filled with numerous knowledge available for everyone to make use of, and to all these available knowledge, a reason behind it is to get the benefits attached to it. It is also the same reason we went to school, so that when we graduate with good grades, we can get a well paying jobs to secure a better future for ourselves.

The primary purpose for investing in Bitcoin or crypto currencies is for the profits it can return over a considerable period of time, and this is a general ideology for everyone in the system. While I will say there could be different intent is if the person in question thinks that Cryptocurrencies/Bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme, then, that is where the intent could be wrong. The market can swing such a person out immediately without time wasting.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was Bitcoin designed for the younger generation? on: September 16, 2025, 03:42:50 AM
Surely Bitcoin wasn't created with specifications for the younger generation, however it's panning out that it's characteristics happen to align more with the younger generation.

Younger people resonate more with technology and Bitcoin is inherently digital. The older generation appear to be sceptical when it comes to new technology and would prefer the traditional Commercial banking systems for their basic and complex transactions.

Personally I think what matters most is a sincere desire to be open to new technologies alongside openness to move a little from the flat currencies.

Could more be done to include the older generation?

I will say you've given all answers to your asked questions. Bitcoin is generally created for all, and gives same thing to all those who can harness the beneficial factors available in it. It has no restriction to age or generation. The younger generations to come will make fixes and upgrades to the already existing system, but the fact of transparency in Bitcoin and the crypto community will always remain as a foundation that has been laid, and every innovative ideas to build upon it.
3  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🃏TonPoker 🃏 - The First & Largest Poker Room On Telegram | No KYC, Rewards 💲. on: September 08, 2025, 09:32:36 AM
Congratulations to TonPoker havings it's first poker game and it's running signature campaign in the forum.

Just before the 10min of Match start I slept🥲. I did wait for the whole time. This match was 2.00 AM on my local time. Ton Poker can you adjust the time from next tournament. I think like me there's more player who missed this tournament. What's the benifit if you couldn't get enough audience. Previous free roll tournament drippybet did have 140+ perticipant and Poker now only could grab 50 perticaption. Among them some maybe was offline.

You should listen community and decide the Tournament Time. see you next week, I hope we will get more tournament like this

Same here. I couldn't participate in this freeroll tournament because it started very late in my time zone. So, if there will be similar tournaments on tonpoker, it would be great to see an adjustment of the start time.
Anyway, congratulations to those who participated and got the prizes. I think it was easy because the competition was small.

I observed that lots of the registered participants where not active, and the platform did not take you guys out, but allowed you till the end of your chips.

It was funny when a player who was not active had better hands and kick an active player out.

ah almost... i wasn't patient enough  Sad

Patience and proper calculations was the best thing to do when the blinds got higher in almost every minutes. At this point, bluffing isn't an option. Congratulations to the winners of which I am one of them.
5  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅ SwCPoker.club ♣️ BITCOIN POKER SINCE 2015 🏆 BSOP Tournament Series 6/20-7/13 on: August 30, 2025, 10:46:45 PM
I also have some chips which I wish to withdraw from there, but it is not up to the required minimum threshold for withdrawal, and how to use it and play game there is something else, and that has placed that reward pending ever since I got it.

Well, the minimum limit for withdrawals is 500 chips, which I also think should be reduced, but it's up to the team.
It depends on them and there's a reason why the minimum withdrawal is 500 chips. Maybe some modification could be done if they see that there's a demand for it.

That demand will need a lot more weight before it can be looked into and put forth for consideration.

On the freerolls, are chips bought to be used or it is provided on the platform?
I use PokerNow more often, but the two platforms are way different from each other, that's why my questions are coming this way.

Just now I played Omaha poker, and for some reason when playing Omaha, I was always fooled by the cards held in my hand. So the result is that I can't maximize the game properly. And what about all of you, do you have a little lack of focus when playing Omaha.

I generally don't like Omaha, my favourite is Hold'em, mostly because it's more predictable and easier for you to maximize and win when you have a good hand, because you know others won't have unexpectedly good hands if you observe their betting patterns, but in Omaha, just like you, I often get fooled, mostly because I think I have a strong hand, but for some reason, another user tends to have a higher hand than me and I lose.

This is the reason why whenever I'm playing cash games, I specifically choose tables where Hold'em is being played, and I do that for tournaments as well because I feel more comfortable playing Hold'em, and in poker or any game, you should play variants where you feel comfortable, there is no need for you to get out of your comfort zone when you have the opportunity to play the games where you can perform better. Smiley

How can one see friendlies, whereby he doesn't need to buy in before playing. I am not too conversant with the SwC platform, and it makes me not to visit the site except when there is a tournament held there.

I also have some chips which I wish to withdraw from there, but it is not up to the required minimum threshold for withdrawal, and how to use it and play game there is something else, and that has placed that reward pending ever since I got it.

Awesome another poker tourney, hopefully they can track the abusers. I dont know how legit they are but just looking at the usernames most of them are kinda sus.
what is the chance of these participants of having 4 digits in their username

You cannot stop multi accounting abuse in a freeroll which is open to all, lets just accept it. What we can do is to monitor/observe tables closely (and this is not a one man job) and look for potential foul play. No doubt that these accounts are a threat for fair play but with fast enough blind structure and very less decision making time will make the life of these abuser a lot tougher  Grin. I am sure @Royse knows this a lot better than all of us combined.
I appreciate your efforts to proactively monitoring the registration process I hope it will deter some cheaters  Cool

Why are people like this? They forgot that the host of the tournament will make a way to fish out those who are/will be willing to cheating the system. It is not a bad thing to have a free tournament for everyone, mismanaging the opportunity is bad.

I was shocked to see the number of check-in has gone up to 119, and the possibility of more to join on the day of the tournament there.

10  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin investment for the elderly. on: August 24, 2025, 08:58:41 PM
If we are looking the age of 70-80 years, there won't be any more income flow, but rather, retirement benefits (if any). At this age, investment is no much a priority, cause age is far spent, and when it comes to investing in crypto currencies, Bitcoin is one and of which is best for the long term.

Also, such aged person, might not have the fluency is going through the market patterns on how to go around it, in terms of taking profits and buying at the deep.

The bottom line for this, should be for his/her children's benefits in life, cause for him, I don't think money is much important compared to family at this point. So, whatever he does related for money, is no more for him, but for his family.

IMO
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the only one reaching new highs on: August 24, 2025, 08:03:52 PM
Altcoins could be profiting in a short term investment, and that mostly happens when there's a bull run, as we currently are seeing, while the top altcoins could be much better for investment in the altcoins sections, yet Bitcoin undoubtedly remains the best choice for investment on a long run.

The decentralised nature of Bitcoin makes it untouchable by any centralised body, and that is what makes it to remain on top of the crypto ranking.

Due to the centralised system revolving round the altcoins, the chances of them making tremendous movements in their price is restricted, as things can be changed in seconds, whereby when the demand increases, the supply can also be increased to maintain or control prices.

Altcoins can be profit oriented, but not an option for a long term holding.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The acceptance of Bitcoin by the younger generation to me is a welcome developme on: August 24, 2025, 07:52:48 PM
This generation is actually looking for were to invest their money and earn returns. The banks are not helping here because even if you save your money in the bank it amounts to nothing because the interest rate is so low.

Interest rate being low is one, that is in countries that the banks gives to its customers interests. In my country, instead of interest, you are being charged of different fees from one reason to the other on monthly basis, then the ones that comes within weekly intervals.

Invest ones funds in crypto currency, mostly Bitcoin is the best option for me in my country, and to all citizens who has the knowledge of crypto currency.

Another poker tournament, it is interesting to see another poker tournament, seeing the recent ones has just concluded.
DrippyBet is welcome, it is good to see you working with R7 and hosting a poker tournament.

No Buy In is an interesting part on this, with a very nice prize pool.

Thumbs up 👍 to @Royse for coordinating this tournament.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi saw today’s Bitcoin, would he call it a failure? on: August 19, 2025, 12:00:42 PM
It will depend on what the context of failure means... For me, I will say he is very much okay with what Bitcoin has turned out to become. Bitcoin over the years has moved from one level to a higher one, breaking and making new highs.

Though it is created to be decentralized to its users, but the way things has turned out to be, we know that everyone is not a tech gig, and the need to bridge that gap between these sets of people is the presence of CEX, and those who are good with DEX still use it.

He created a source of financial freedom to those who can harness its possibilities, and placed the governmental bodies in a position they can't just take full control or knock it down.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things that can help prevent Bitcoin thieves. on: August 19, 2025, 11:24:36 AM
If this user stored his/her Bitcoins in an exchange, it is a wrong step, not to say, a very large amount of which you have just pointed out. Exchanges are for trading and not for storage place, there are reasons why there are different wallet addresses in this community, and they are made/created for the purpose of safe keeping our crypto assets. An amount so large can be stored in an offline wallet for better safety reasons.

Also, when it comes to withdraw from exchange, the permission for the use of finger print for withdraws, 2FA authentication, and combination of SMS and Email codes can make it a bit more difficult to penetrate.

Safe keeping of our crypto assets, mostly Bitcoin is our sole responsibility and should be taken seriously.

When was the last time you played online poker and name the poker site: 2 days ago, cash game at SwC Poker (registered around 2018 iirc)

If you're analysing activity using Ninjastic (or similar), note that my all-time statistics are not the best reflection of my current activity (30-day stats give a better picture) as I wasn't as active on gambling boards in the past as I am now.

Accepted and allowed the Legendary payroll although I had to adjust my budget. Please update bio info immediately and let me know the total number of posts.

It seems there are more criteria needed to be accepted in this signature campaign than just being a regular poker player with the SwC platform. Congratulations mate, goodluck to the SwC campaign and everyone participating.
