An old unused android phone and Mycellium.

Oh, i agree, it's just that i'm starting to lose my belief that Bitcoin will become something we can use on a daily basis.

If your electricity is free, why stop mining? you already paid for the S7's. I have S5,S4 and S7 mining and still get some btc, not a lot but with "almost free electricity" it's hard to find a reason not to power them up.
Besides there are other ways to make money with your S7s. Selling them is but one option. msg me privately if you want more ideas.
I'm not quite understanding, either...I've got three S7s in Labrador that are profitable, and I'm paying hosting. I've got another two machines at home, Avalons, where the juice is free.
If your electricity is almost free I would recommend you getting a credit from a bank ( if you don't have the funds) and bumping it up to at least 100th and start making some money here at Kano!!! Grin

Well the point is, i see these miners go on ebay.de around 550 to 650 euro's.   Lets say i would get 1100 euro's, at the current rate (sigh) that's is 0,5 BTC.
With the exponentially growing Diff  I've seen my profits go from 0,28 to 0,12 BTC/month in the last half year. So, what i'm wondering is that if I mine for half a year,
what would those miners still be worth? I'm guessing that in another 6 months I might scrape 0,5BTC with 2 S7's but by then the diff will have risen so much that monthly it's 0,05BTC for 9TH..
I can only use about 3000watt so more miners is not an option.
Furthermore, the whole BitMain HardFork, scaling debate and all is not healty for Bitcoin.
I got into Bitcoin from an ideological point of view, get rid of the banks... but now we miners like the high TX fee's.
But the TX fee's can't stay this high, otherwise BTC is not usable for making payments anymore.

Hey guys, a bit of an semi off topic question, but i'm mining with 2 S7's. My electricity is almost free.
Since the last diff increase and seeing the BTC profits halve every 3 months i'm actually thinking of quitting mining.
As getting a S9 doesn't seem to be a great ROI either.

Just selling the miners and hodling that in BTC seems to be more profitable in the long run than keeping them on.
Anybody else feels the same? Or am i just having a bit of fud?.

I'm talking about a 1/5€ cuts, not just cents!
You seem to be missing some 0's.  Roll Eyes

That's not the point of my question
Too much dust makes a dump

Actually that is the point, for example, i have about 60 dust payments, and guess what... it's about 22cents.
You can't even pay the transaction fee's from that.

Well since no one actually said it Smiley
That was a(nother) block by blockmines! Smiley
S9v2

And the 5 block PPS% is ... 500% Smiley

Only here you see a 413% diff before a 414% luck.
Amazing to see a 5 month 114% PPS.
Tnx for the hard work Kano, and its great to see the pool rising in hash!

...run mycellium so you mine to a cold storage, then use https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/ mycelium to track your balance)
And then transfer from that adress to the exchange if you must change it to fiat.
What ^he said (that's how I do it, too) - though if you're running mycelium you can see your balance in there at any time.  I also don't put in the private key unless I'm about to transfer some coin out, then I put it in just long enough to sign the transaction, and after it goes through I delete the private key.

One MAJOR caveat - don't lose the paper with your (cold) storage address on it...!
I actually have an old phone that's off, and in a vault somewhere else then where I live. The paper backup somewhere else again and
Then i have the public key and put it on my daily phone, so i can check the balance, as i'm in the luxury to be a BTC hodler, not having to pay the electricity from my BTC earnings
but if i need to, its just installing the key or turning on the phone.

The "brillance" with bitinfocharts.com however is that you can see a graph with your income over time.
(And see the crazy million dollar adresses that exists...)

Hey guys does anyone use Coinbase as their wallet to receive rewards?  Does it work ok and do they charge any fees just for receiving and sending out BTC?  Or maybe someone could recommend me a wallet?  Thanks! Smiley

It's bad practice to receive the rewards to your exchange.
Take any other wallet. (my tip is to take an old android phone and run mycellium so you mine to a cold storage, then use https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/ to track your balance)
And then transfer from that adress to the exchange if you must change it to fiat.

I am a newbie and have am delighted I chose this pool for my 17.5 ish TH/s.

I just noted a kind odd thing, has anyone noticed that the last 15 payouts were paid with the same price for bitcoins? ($1212.03 USD).

Yes, I am trying to learn and do keep a spreadsheet of my data/payouts, etc.

Up until these last 15 payouts, the prices was always different, reflecting the current bitcoin price at the time of the payout, this "anomaly" just caught my detailed oriented eye.

Anyway, Mine On!!! (I still need a few more months to realize my ROI and become mostly profitable).
I'm not sure exactly what the question is Smiley
But the BTC/$ price is certainly considered random Smiley

If you are referring to your BTC reward, well that of course will also appear somewhat random due to pool luck vs pool hash rate vs your hash rate.

Haha, that's funny!  Last 15 were payed with the same price for Bitcoin???  How is that?  You get payed certain amount of BTC, it is up to you how much you sell it for.  Smiley

Yeah, i think you have your fundamentals wrong, if you mine you get BTC. Not dollars,
if you want to know how much dollars you have, take the sum of your BTC and convert that to dollars against the actual price.

How come a lot of these big pools are suddenly inverting their pool fee?... ranging from -3% to -10%... so essentially promising a 103% to 110% mining profit...
how did that happen, and where do these extra BTC come from?

And more big pools are signalling BU...
this can't be any good for the future of the network....

@Kano any though of supporting Bitcoin Unlimited?
Well they seem to be the closest to what the pools and miners in general want, but as I mentioned in the Antpoo thread, core seems to be the centralised control of bitcoin at the moment so it would need a core option to vote for it.

We had over 70% support for BIP100 that would almost certainly have got more support, but since core didn't want it, the minority centralised control (core) got their wish, no BIP100.

The biggest problem with the whole blocksize issue is that everyone has an agenda to add to it, core being the worst in this situation.

A simple vote for a simple blocksize increase (not the ridiculous BIP101 version) would get in very quickly and then the rest of the rubbish being peddled by everyone could be ignored Tongue
It seems no one will do that, as I said, everyone has some other agenda they want.

Is there a scaling solution that you will be voting for Kano?

edit: Did it all get pointed to F2Pool? They have found 5 of the last 6 blocks.

Actually no... they went to Antpool... 2 weeks ago i checked Antpoo and F2poo to calculate their luck, since then Antpool has risen 40Ph and F2 20Ph... thats twice the size of this pool...
However... according to: http://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/bitcoin-network-hashrate-chart the hasrate has been this high at 3 dec. aswell
So... wondering out lout wither the luck of this pool is affected by this?

shjo gotta be one of the nastiest 2 weeks on kano Undecided
Yeah... in theory everything balances out...
Just 3,5+ blocks per day from now on and we are back on 100%...  Undecided

Go BTClocks!  Grin

19  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,NL on: December 09, 2016, 03:18:26 PM
You are now making less money. Pps pay per day is pretty much equal to two blocks per day here at kano. As long as we are averaging more than 60 block a month (At our current pool hash rate). We are making more money than at any pps pool. And last I checked. We averaged 2.3333333 last month.

Okay, so i have around 17 TH, when i mined at F2Pool it gave me 0,0155BTC per day... at 17TH i'm getting around 0.0065BTC per block from CKpool.
So, it would need 2,5 blocks per day to be the same.   But since i started mining, we hit less than 2 blocks per day.

I get your point and yes CK-pool is better, but atm, i'm making more money elsewhere
20  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,NL on: December 09, 2016, 12:54:57 PM

Actually, you are forgetting last month... the last 10 days we hit 13 blocks... we need around 2,5 block per day... so that's 25-13 is yeah... 12 blocks below expected...
Although time is not the best measure, best is to add all the diffs...

So yeah, we need around 3,5 bocks per day to get in the greens.
I don't see this year coming out of the red without one of those green streaks that seem to have been there in the past.

Okay, I'm having a hard time keeping up.  We started out talking about this month, you add in last month at first and then finished with the whole year.  If we look at data on hand, we have 1047 blocks with 1033.28 expected since the beginning of March.  That is 13.72 blocks over expected for 101% Luck.  Since the beginning of the year we are around 102.5% PPS so it's a pretty good chance that we will finish the year with a positive return.  Not that that will influence the future at all but for now it works.

Now if you started in the middle of the year somewhere, your results will be lower of course...

Sorry, I meant to say that the last 10 days was also a part in last month...  And with the year i meant the last part of 2016. Sorry
And Sadly I started mining here on the 20th of november because I didn't want to use the Chinese pools anymore after learning more about the influence of them in the network.

But this luck is killing me, and I had to point most of my miners elsewhere...
Running 3 S7's and one S4... still have one S7 here hoping for a green streak.
