1  Economy / Economics / Re: Which country would be the first to eliminate fiat and convert to crypto fully? on: August 15, 2017, 10:34:39 AM
According to me, at the inverse of what you are saying, that will not be at all China, for the simple reason that they have no incentive to do so, and because they would lose a monetary power that needed great efforts from them in order to possess it. My call is that it will rather be a little country, wanting to attract investors and become known worldwide. I will not make a guess on the exact country, since it can be so many.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you see alts have chances against Bitcoins? on: April 25, 2017, 09:43:30 AM
Frankly, yes and no. There is several field of things, and not all can be considered as a sole one.

-Micropayments : to me, this is where the altcoins have the most chance. I perfectly see possible that some day in some games, even mainstream ones, people can earn game-created crypto-currency. However I do not see why the game would use a crypto-currency and not a regular screen token, but this is another story.

-Store of value : there I see no chance for the other crypto-currencies. Bitcoin is way more stable than any other altcoin, and which their weak distribution, I see to this day no altcoin able to be a threat to this Bitcoin function.

-Internationial wires : there is a chance here for altcoins. If I were a shop, or something needing to be paid, personally I would see no problem being paid in Ether or in Litecoins. But this is probably because I am rather altcoin-friendly. I am not sure this is the case for most people.

So altcoins have a chance, but we need many if. There is also some interesting cases like Ethereum which is the only one to offer some innovative service. I do not mention this field of things because to me this is the only one, and we are talking about the altoins in general.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used by ordinary citizens? on: February 28, 2017, 02:56:58 PM
In its current form, not at all. The average guy is very reluctent to technology. Once you will be able to just click into your application on your contact's name and the amount in fiat money you want to send for this money to be sent, this will be avalaible to ordinary people, but for now, no. QR codes are a great move forward though.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about bitcoin? on: February 14, 2017, 04:21:49 PM
I heard about Bitcoin by a friend, that learnt me some things but told me that I would remember them better if those answers were questions I asked myself. That is why I am here, to learn more about Bitcoin ! What catched my attention in what he was saying was the blazingly fast and cheap transactions that can work worldwide !
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you regret spending money on this year? on: January 02, 2017, 09:22:45 PM
What I regret most is buying shit ton of hyper nutricious cereal bars. I've bought like 70$ worth of them in preparation of a one week trip on bike in mountains, for me and my friends. 3/4 of those weren't even ate and I think it even went to trash ! Also, buying a coat at 275$ or two pair shoes at 155$ each could have been postponed without much problem I think... However I doubt I would have bought Bitcoin instead.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do people have personalisated addresses ? on: December 17, 2016, 02:34:05 PM
I use Vanity Gen to get my custom addresses like the 1Donate1 address in my profile.

https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen/downloads

Thank you for giving me the link to that software. shorena's service seems very well, and people seem to trust the service, but since I have no bitcoin, I won't be able to request a a custom address since people have to pay for them, and thus, I'll have to generate one myself. I'll look further into the software to make it work and generate an address that is fully mine Smiley !
7  Other / Beginners & Help / How do people have personalisated addresses ? on: December 11, 2016, 04:54:45 PM
So when browsing the forum, I saw that several members had personalisated addresses. On my wallet, I can't choose how an address will look, so I'm wondering how did people get them ? Could anyone indicate me where I can find a post explaining it ? That would be very kind of you Smiley !
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Let's present myself on: December 05, 2016, 07:04:32 PM
Who I am ?

Presenting myself is something I'm used to and according to Lauda's post, that's not prohibited as long as it is something at least a bit susbtancial.

So, my name is Raviolarti. I'm a young guy living in Europe.

Why did I rejoined the Bictoin family ? : Quite some times ago, even a few years I'd say, I went aware of Bitcoin. Since that time, I've been episodically seeing things about it, but never went fully serious with it. That's when last two Wednesday ago a friend of mine that was already into Bitcoin for quite some time told me something about Bitcoin that  made me say me : I've waited enough, that's time for me to go ! So I asked him to quickly explain me the basics of Bitcoin, to see wheter I'm interested or not to finally join or not. After an hour or two of conversation, I was conviced. Today I registered here.

What do I except from being here ? : First learning. My friend only told me the basics and concluded by saying me that it would be better for me to take my informations from several people, though he did not explained me why. That's what he did, since he had not someone to introduce him, as me, so I guess he now with some time thinks that it is a good way to do so. And second, in some way, maybe trying to earn some bitcoins if that's possible, but that's clearly not my priority, since I have already a nice starting stake.

I've red some stickies in that section, and I'll continue to do so for some time from now. If someone has some really important post to indicate me to read before anything else, I'm free to any recommendation ! I hope that's the first post a great and interesting journey !
