If they would post their own names and nicknames on btc24, reddit and here - at least that would be an indication that everything is real.
And best of all - if there would be an announcement topic here by a reputable user. Then all curtains would fall immediately.
But as of yet, I'm considering...

What I really hope right now is the following.
Simon has better legal resolution skills than Simon's programming and communication skills.
Of course, Simon in coupe with his lawyer and the rest of his team (about the first part).
I believe looking at the situation in a grim mood is not helping, so I try to keep positive.

Done. Advise everyone to do the same before people who did not see this wouldn't get them selves caught in even more shit.

Thank you very much, Beutelschneider. I know you were willing to file a lawsuit, glad you changed your mind, for now, at least. Thank you for helping us all.

If we are to live up to the point of trade in fractions of f coin as a standard because of the high price - I consider BTC an unkillable technology in terms it survived all of the things thrown at it.

I see the quotation 'will rise again' to be more of the biblical type, meaning that it will not die.
And that is exactly what I thought when I read the statement. They didn't say the PRICE will rise. They meant that the bitcoin as a currency will not halt it's existence. OR They meant to speculate but naive users like me would have faith that the means is what I've just said. If yes, they are laughing in our faces when we deliberately send them OUR money. I don't know what to think

This can be a good idea in terms "the customer commands the market". But imagine how many traders read this forum. The have to be other ways to communicate the community's decision if we are ever to reach a consensus.

Can be a dumb idea, but if simple refresh doesn't show it correctly, can recache refresh work? (Ctrl+F5)

I've never traded on Gox, but from all the rant on the internet and the charts I can say they weren't very successful in terms of providing the service people expect from them as the "largest" and "main" exchange.
I mostly trade on BTC24 (read: traded, as it's down now effectively setting all accounts and their balance in Limbo) and used bitcoinity charts for Gox to predict movement on our exchange. Wasn't very successful with the delay, was it? Not really.
One main exchange and lots of smaller ones with this level protection from DDoS attacks and insufficient processing resources is not the best model. My understanding of "BTC was the victim of its own success" through Gox is simple - BTC is ahead of it's time. Tesla was ahead of his time for reference...
I don't know what to think and I even stopped encouraging friends IRL to trade as I don't want them to get disappointed without having a lot of information. This destroys newcomers belief and reputation of BTC.
Probably all I said is what a lot of others think, so take it as another rant from the member of the community.

If Distributed Denial of Service wouldn't have been created or found out until this time, MtGox would have discovered it. We have seen a DotCom bubble burst trend copy. A lot of normal users probably weren't very confident in the situation (read: panic) - all hell broke lose.
We may not know who made it out with profit. Btc24 in limbo, even with all the info - we still don't know how, when and in which state it will reopen.
We made history. It will go into books for our children.
Congratulations.

We saw what happened to Gox with all the protection. Today, we have seen what happened to btc24... Lets wait and hope we can still prosper.

Right now - its not very good.

I happened to leave to a business meeting. Crash indeed...

The situation is really scary. No info anywhere, people worried about their funds and coins stuck in limbo, while Simon resolves the situation. No announcements, hence all nervous.

This is probably the most useful post for a beginner

Probably a good idea, but do you actually get 50 BTC a month in the pot?
