1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 01, 2015, 05:25:25 AM
Now we just need a buttcoin clone to know we've made it! I suggest Morono, Blocka.

Perhaps Monerror?  or Boner -o
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.1 on: January 10, 2015, 06:08:34 AM
Does anyone run the Linux version?
I get segmentation fault at start.  Any ideas?

Don't run pimp in remote desktop. Use putty/ssh etc.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: January 08, 2015, 09:07:04 PM
our pool avg is 96%, there is one guy who leases when the timing is right xmr value up etc, and brings an extra 60khs

its not a botnet as it would be varying in speed, this is FLAT 60k and a reverse on ips etc due diligence showed it's a rent.

i don't think luck is manipulated, but i did see something that influences it , ill test theory in a few days (w/e) and let you know.

we go from 90 to 101% our avg is 96% , i will add stats soon to dashboard , its already there, just needs a publish.

Thanks!

I have been mining for a couple months at backup-pool for monero.  I have noticed that every once in a while someone moves their farm or botnet, etc.(~60+KH) to the pool and it gets really unlucky for finding blocks.  Is is possible that someone is exploiting the pool with some exploit, or is it coincidence?  I have noticed it more than once.

Edit: triplef sent me a PM and mentioned that the increase is not a botnet and that the difference in luck can be attributed to lucky pool numbers returning to average with the increased pool hashrate. Thanks triplef for your reply and for the pool.

Would it be possible to analyze the inputs to claymores wallet and estimate the percentage of mining done by GPU clients over time?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Ever heard of Prime Coin ? on: October 10, 2014, 11:09:26 PM
confirmation doesn't take 3 days, though block maturity does when you mine a block.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here's why Paypal loves bitcoin, put simply on: September 29, 2014, 05:40:38 PM
I don't think Paypal loves bitcoin. I don't think Paypal necessarily hates CC companies.  I think it is all about the bottom line. There are no chargebacks with bitcoin.  I suspect Paypal is threatened by bitcoin in the long term, but immediate profits are more important.  This should be seen as a positive for bitcoin, since it highlights the function, security and usefulness of bitcoin.

Now that ethereum is up for sale, does anyone have any insight into the value as an investment?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Primecoin GPU miner: 8.3 CPD on a 280x / pool version on: June 27, 2014, 12:38:30 AM
will this current version work with beeeer?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Primecoin GPU miner: 8.3 CPD on a 280x / pool version on: June 27, 2014, 12:08:06 AM
Looks like some good improvements in the numbers.  Why no paid solo version?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero / XMR Wall & Difficulty Observer / Trading Speculation Thread on: June 15, 2014, 03:01:09 AM
There is also a LTC/XMR trading pair on poloniex.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FCN][MRO][QCN][BCN] GUI miner on: June 01, 2014, 05:56:16 PM
i am trying this out. Does anyone have an estimate of blocks for given hashrate?  Are solo blocks still possible?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: June 01, 2014, 04:54:58 PM
I had one card that was low output and throttling that was helped by that.  It is why I suggested it.

try to increase power limit % in afterburner.

I tested it with increment of 5 till 20% but the picture remains the same !

Raise it up higher.  It doesn't increase voltage.  It allows more power draw under load. You could raise it all the way up for a short time and it will not do any harm if your voltages and clocks are not extreme.

V10 has been very good for me on 3x290x (i7)  - 6 11 chains yesterday and today. Other rig is quad 1366 CPU with 4 mixed 7000 series cards- it has not been as good.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: May 14, 2014, 02:13:29 AM
It is the power limit % slider in afterburner.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: May 14, 2014, 01:13:32 AM
am i in the right way ??

Look at the graphs in afterburner.  It looks like your cards are throttling.  You should turn up powertune to +20.  You can probably overclock the core speed a bit too.

Claymore, will there be an update before the difficulty hits 11 to tune for the 11 chains?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: May 13, 2014, 02:34:26 AM
is there any setting changes or updates needed when we hit 11 difficulty?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open Source XPM Pool + GPU Miner (aka. madPrimeMiner) on: May 11, 2014, 05:14:36 PM
I am trying to get the server figured out, but would prefer a solo version with no fees.  Is anyone working on this?
