FYI fam... the notion that you are legally protected against IP infringement litigation by the argument that RChain is "open source" is total bullshit.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux#Copyright.2C_trademark.2C_and_naming
Quote
In the United States, the name Linux is a trademark registered to Linus Torvalds. Initially, nobody registered it, but on August 15, 1994, William R. Della Croce, Jr. filed for the trademark Linux, and then demanded royalties from Linux distributors. In 1996, Torvalds and some affected organizations sued him to have the trademark assigned to Torvalds, and, in 1997, the case was settled.

Additionally, you're all susceptible to litigation if you signed non-compete clauses regardless of your state's laws regarding the enforcement of non-compete contracts.  State laws only apply to corporations incorporated in that state.  Synereo LTD is in Israel.  You would have entered into a contract with a company out-of-state.  Therefore, you would still be legally bound by such a contract.

Thought I'd let you know fam.

The Linux case is not relevant because the case relates to (1) a registered trademark for (2) an existing product (3) developed by the plaintiff.

You might want to read up on long-arm jurisdiction in Washington state and California.

If anyone is considering giving Greg (aka Lucius Gregory Meredith) any of their AMPs, they might want to check out the last project Greg raised money for on Kickstarter.

Monadic Design Patterns for the Web Book

Quote
Last fall i began writing a book called Monadic Design Patterns for the Web about the use of certain functional abstractions to facilitate building real web applications at scale. By scale i mean both, lots of users/big data/big compute and scale in the sense of complexity management, scale in the sense of understandable and maintainable by small teams. i got a contract with APress; and everyone i told about the project was very excited. By April i'd only written the second and third chapter -- largely because i also work for a living. So, APress decided to drop the contract. i turned to the community. The support to complete the project was overwhelming and so Artima stepped up to publish. Since then i've written well over two thirds of the content; and developed the code that supports the text; but, to complete this work i really need to focus. Artima doesn't offer an advance. At the time i went to the community for support many people offered to buy advanced copies of the book or make donations, but i demurred. So, i'm doing all of this on spec. i realize it's just not possible to do this without a little help. i need about 12,500.00 USD so that i can focus on just this project to bring it to completion. It's good work; high quality work; and the community really deserves to have this knowledge distilled in a way they can put it to use. i'm the guy to do this; but i see now that i can't do it alone. i need a little help from the community i'm seeking to serve.

Obviously, Greg is too lazy or stupid to use proper grammar and follow basic capitalization rules.  What a joke.

He raised $13,099 from 162 people from Dec 1, 2010 to Jan 15, 2011.  To this day, SIX YEARS LATER, he has not completed the book.  Nobody has received anything.

The last comment from one of his supporters, Thomas Lockney, on Feb 15, 2015 reads as follows:

"It's now been over 4 years since this book was funded. I haven't heard anything from Artima in a long while and nothing from here in even longer (by a long shot). It would be nice to at least officially hear why this project appears to have died completely."

Greg took over $13,000 USD from these people and failed to deliver a complete, working product!

This is the same stunt that this joker pulled on Synereo LTD, and he is now trying to con you into giving him your money.  Do NOT fall for it.  Greg is a scammer pure and simple.

Here is his Kickstarter picture smirking at his victims:

Too lazy to even button up his shirt or sit up straight in a chair.  He looks totally demented and imo, strung out on something.  We now know that none of the $13,099 USD was spent on a haircut.

It's pretty sad that despite having nothing substantial to say, you so desperately want to keep writing "clever" things that you have nothing left but to comment on people's posture, hairstyle, and the way they dress. Also you demonstrate, once again, your inability or unwillingness to find even the most basic publicly available information that relates to the topics you bring up.

I rather defuse situations and cooperate than start a war. I think its ironic that you are quoting a movie in which a massive nuclear conflict was avoided and at the same time you threaten people on this forum and the progress of open source project.

It will come to light in due time that you and the RChain Coop are the one's acting in bad faith with the full knowledge that you are committing numerous infringements against Synereo LTD owned IP.  You are escalating this into a situation where there will be no winners, but the RChain Coop and anyone who gives you money will be utterly financially destroyed.  Stop your infringement against Synereo LTD IP and your aggressive actions against AMP holders.  I cannot urge people reading this enough... If you give your AMPs to RChain Coop you will lose everything.  Do NOT think that Synereo LTD will back down from their legal rights.  Synereo LTD along with major equity and AMP holders will protect our interests without prejudice against those who are seeking to cause us harm.  The time for negotiations are quickly drawing to a close, and soon, their will be no choice left, but conflict which will cause anyone related to the RChain Coop extreme financial distress.  Only RChain Coop can remedy this situation by stepping back from the edge.  You know and I know the truth of these statements.  You have been warned.

You write so authoritatively about this. What are you basing it on? IP claims have to be specific and all we ever hear is vague claims of IP infringement, and since you are unaware of the current state of the relationship between Synereo and RChain, I can only assume you're just making this stuff up.

He asked questions, I answered them. What does my newness have to do with the accuracy or usefulness of my statements?

What you seriously want me to answer that ?

I dont have to - I can check your posting history - all in this thread at the time of my original post and with endless information.  Either you are the OP wanna be dev trying to shill fools

OR

By some miracle you are a new user who has NFI about anything but just so happens the 1 in a billion zillion chance you decide.."Hey shit I think I might sign up to bitcointalk and see what they are saying"

And then find a thread that you can post endless garbage in.

SHILL 101 = people dont buy it anymore.

Anymore proof ?

fucking LOL

He asked questions, I answered them. What does my newness have to do with the accuracy or usefulness of my statements?

No. I didn't expect you to answer that. It was a rhetorical question.

I didn't come on here to pretend anything. There's no need to create an account to read what people are saying here.

I joined in order to help answer questions and provide information about RChain and the token redemption process because I'm familiar with them. I'm sure that's completely obvious to everyone else. That's why no one else is trying to pretend that I'm trying to pretend anything.

As with every other blockchain on the planet, it will be at least five years before it is in a state that could be considered "production-ready" for mission critical applications. It will be useful long before that, as Ethereum and other blockchains are now.

So Rchain will take 5 years to be ready according to you, Okay.

Now will we have a live counter to track the number of amps that are being converted?

And is it confirmed that Otto will be donating/investing $10million for RCHAIN development?

What if Otto steps back? Will the rchain project be abandoned due to lack of funds?

I'm not able to answer any of those questions. I suggest you ask in the RChain Slack.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RCHAIN on: January 12, 2017, 07:12:26 PM

Synereo LTD is still developing RChain.

Where do they say that? Could you provide a link, please?

Synereo LTD's CEO, Dor Konforty, has stated this multiple times along with many other employees of Synereo LTD.  Do NOT play stupid.  This is NOT a game.  Stop trying to trick people into giving you money for something that is NOT legally yours.  The ones who give you their money will end up hurt the most.

If you do not believe me, join Synereo's Slack channel and ask them yourself.

I never claimed that anything belonging to Synereo was mine. I was not involved in either project. You're the one making claim after claim and failing to support them.

Infringement of what IP? You can't keep making all these claims with nothing to back them up.

You are willingly aiding in the infringement of Synereo LTD IP and attempting to trick individuals for your own personal monetary gain.  Stop now.

I see a Dev who needs the resources to make it happen, but a CEO that's dosen't think shit costs money :/

Greg failed to deliver working code for months.  He was given every chance to work with the team to produce a working product, but he refused to work with anyone.  The fact is that you could give Greg $100M USD and he would never produce anything except excuses.  The only dev that was fired from the development team was Greg.  What does that tell you?

ahh, ya i admit i wasen't IMMERSED in AMP, so unaware of that part, thats funny, he was always so adamant about "People will vouch for my abilty to get shit done!" Cheesy haha so much for that ;p
idk, their not getting a penny from me, a team like this it's easier to buy low for profit on the news of their fuckups ;p

Greg helped form a new company that is in charge of RChain development now. He and lots of other people are hard at work. You can check out the project by joining the Slack. http://slack.rchain.coop/

Greg is offering to swap AMPs for tokens that will convert into native RChain tokens, for anyone who prefers to support the RChain project.

Reserve me down to do the English translation.

So rchain will have 1 billion coins, out of which more than 90% will be held with the CO-OP?
How would RCHAIN negate the possible lawsuits coming against it with almost no funding? [From Synereo] - As mentioned by its CEO
When will there be a working product, After 10 years?...As mentioned by greg [ founder of rchain]

Videos, videos, talk and more talks....Promises and more promises, And you guys cant even have a firm redemption date before posting...pathetic in a sense

FYI- Redemption has been delayed as they still dont have a working code and have problems with OMNI node!

According to recent statements made by RChain, RChain will start out with one billion tokens, but after the redemption will burn tokens so that the ratio of tokens in circulation to tokens out of circulation is about the same as at Synereo. So, yes, a little more than 90% will be held by the co-op initially, but there will be fewer than one billion tokens total. The number won't be determined until after the redemption.

RChain and the major investors interested in RChain are well aware of previous and recent allegations against RChain. Since they've done their due diligence and aren't concerned about funds being drained defending against frivolous lawsuits, I'm not too concerned about it. Greg has stated that he will answer any questions asked of him, and that there may be counter lawsuits as well.

The roadmap hasn't been published yet, but we can expect a functioning product within a year or two. As with every other blockchain on the planet, it will be at least five years before it is in a state that could be considered "production-ready" for mission critical applications. It will be useful long before that, as Ethereum and other blockchains are now.

As for your other complaints, I'm glad to see that they are cautious and are willing to delay when it's the sensible thing to do.

Says the noob trying to shill for it.

You brought up the legalities I am asking you for your interpretation because I am not a lawyer.

The interpretation under the law is that Greg is at fault and will face legal and financial repercussions if Synereo LTD chooses to pursue him for damages.  If I was Synereo LTD's legal counsel, I would recommend that they act to protect their and their shareholder's interests.

Source?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RCHAIN on: January 11, 2017, 05:56:43 PM
The fact of the matter is that Greg, who is now trying to collect funds for his version of "RChain", was fired from Synereo LTD for failing to deliver and malfeasance.  Greg is now attempting to steal Synereo LTD IP and gain monetary value from the work of others.  Greg would like you to believe that his version of "RChain" is the only one in development.  The truth is that Synereo LTD is continuing the development of RChain on its own with its own team without Greg.  Greg is angry over this and is committing multiple infractions for which he can be held legally liable.  There will never be any funding procured by him from David Otto or any other large, accredited investor, because of the legalities of Greg's situation.  Greg has stated previously that David Otto had agreed to give him a "blank check", but more recently has claimed that funding will ONLY come after the RChain ICO.  Of course, none of this is true.  Greg knows this and is taking advantage of the uninformed by attempting to convince them to give him their AMPs.  Greg is doing this because he knows the only money he will be able to get is the AMPs he collects off the naive.  Greg will never get $10M USD from anybody.  He will claim to "develop" his version of RChain until he runs out of your AMPs or he gets sued.  If you give Greg your money, you might as well go out into the street and set fire to it.  You will get no return on your investment.

Protip:  Don't listen to the imbecile "coininterview" aka Christian Pierson.  Christian is a chronic drug abuser who will soon be hauled out of his parent's house to jail by the DEA.  Greg is paying Christian to market RChain (Stop laughing!) even though Christian is completely and totally incompetent, has the IQ of a pickle, and his last job was in "Mexican landscaping", his words not mine.

Nobody knows the whole story of why Dor chose to oust Greg and keep all the money, knowing that many people invested partly or exclusively because of RChain and Greg's involvement. The code related to RChain is already in the public domain, and Dor was in agreement that it should be. I have not seen Dor say he is continuing to work on anything called RChain. I have seen him say the opposite, that he is looking for an existing blockchain on which to build the social network.

I'm not sure why you think you are an expert in the legalities of the situation, when even lawyers aren't sure.

Greg never said he had a blank check from Otto. Someone else said that it the Synereo Slack, but that was incorrect.

The rest of your speculations and ad hominems are not worth responding to.
