1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.3 (Windows/Linux) on: March 10, 2017, 11:27:33 PM
For reference, my AMD 290x's top out at 373 H/s per gpu. 12.3, asm 1, intensity needs to be around 6. Anything else and it diminishes significantly.

say please setting and drivers
You need to flash 390x bios to have these speeds!

Claymore could you set -i 3 default for 280x?

Just change it to -i 3 yourself. Claymore isn't responsible for sorting out your problems...

lol....already doing it smart guy...just giving an ideia or option to set intensity by the type of card, since mixed rig suffer after the reboot, because of the change of the order....but your ideia is very good to decrease the claymore profits...
Why -i3? My 280X with modded bios works fine on -i 5...

i saw at least two people with the same problem of stability with 280x...but my idea is an option of setting intensity by the type of the vga, not the order, since that changes after every reboot...

Finally I find it! A know the problem why GPU's hangs on 12.1! Maybe not all GPU's but on my 280X and 270X it so...

I just read the logs.. and...

GPU's hangs if used option -ttli and temperature of GPU achieves this value.
After miner must to low intensity for cooldown GPU.
And 12.1 on this hangs GPU at all.
In logs appears string "Gpu # -ttli apply delta 1" and after that GPU hangs till restart.

To verify this I choose low -ttli for 270X and it hangs at chosen temperature!

Why my 280X hangs all time and 270X is not? Because 280X is hotter and more quickly achieves ttli temperature... And when I change intensity GPU allready was hot and therefore reach ttli temperature quickly...
I'm scared to run miner without -ttli... Will set tstop at the moment...

Claymore, can you check this and correct?
i'll try here...indeed i use -ttli too

I am allready installed back latest 17.2.1 and miner 12.1 runs without any issues or GPU hangs all this time. I was right, I just removed ttli option and add tstop until Claymore fix this.

excellent

Using R9 280X with modded bios and some overclocked GPU. v12 works fine. Tested over 2-3 days working without issuies.

With v12.1 only 1st intensity is most stable. With any other intensity miner after about 10 min starts to show 0 hashrates and 0% GPU load.
With 1st intensity miner works normal 20-30 min and then speed is 0 too. Miner restarts and so on.

Returning back to v12. It's stable for me.

Windows 10 Pro.
Tryed 15.12 drivers, disable overclocking. Nothing helps.
Any other miners works fine. PSU 60-70% load.

After some couple of days testing, i find 16.3.2 drivers performs better in terms of stability than 15.12,
on all my 7970/280x/380/390 rigs...
And it happens on v12.0 and v12.1 miner ... (got some strange instability with 280x rigs, and tried 16.3.2,
everything works perfect so far).

Thanks! I'll try 16.3.2.

P.S. Are you tried other WHQL versions like 16.12.2, 16.9.2, 16.7.3?
im using 16.10.2, and its fine, tried 16.12.2 and no success....

-i 1 seems to solve the hang issue for me...
For me -i 1 solves the problem too, but speed is less then -i 5 with v12.0. -i 2 gives the same speed as -i 5 in 12.0 but hangs often...
sadly after 3hours got a hang with -i 1 in 12.1....using 12.0 with -i 2 it is totally stable...i'm using agressive undervolting with my 7990s and 295...

Hello,

Thanks for the new release  Smiley

With my R9 290x i'm reaching 330 H/s at stock speeds (even with playing with -i).

To anyone that have an R9 290(x) : can you confirm my results please ?

Thanks

same here... but i saw people talking about 400sols with modded rom...tried to tweak my 295 but no success...

Sadly v12 and v12.1 are too unstable here (already tried to low intensity)...rig with 3x 7990 and 1x R9 295x2, under win10 with cat 15.12...other versions and optiminer run fine...
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 18, 2017, 01:00:29 AM
4x 280x, 1 of my cards restarts the rig even without asm and with i 0, I can't reduce it any lower, had to revert to 11.1, no OC at all.

The same problem here. One of my 280x hangs causing multiple restarts of the watchdog!  Never happened before!
I've been having same problem , at this point a clean reinstall of 15.12 seems to have my 9xR9 280x in 2 rigs at i 5 and i 4,4,6,7 getting avg 300 h/s for 2+ hrs

I could do 6/6/1/5 for a few hours, then I kept going lower to have no restarts every 2-3-4hours and in the end everything crashes, even with i 0. I know one of my cards is a bit trashed, can only go at low clock mem but it does go for years like that with an other algo or miner, so it's not like the card shat itself completely, it had a 400hour uptime with 11.1 before I switched.

Try disconnecting card by card, and cleaning pins on graphics card, also clean pins on extender cable that goes to mainboard,
with (i know it's funny, but works) simple toilet paper slice, reconnect it all back,
put intensity -i 4 , clocks 1030-1040 gpu / 1500 mem , and test again.

This miner needs a bit higher voltages than before (or lower clock - whatever you choose).

Also, on this version of miner, some "weakly connected cards" or bad extenders are showing their true nature...

as i tested, drivers have nothing with it, at least in my case(s).
15.12, 16.10.x, 16.11.x ... all works normal (some crashed, but after cleaning pcie-extenders, all gone well).

rising a little bit core voltage worked for me...1090 to 1100 on 7990...

RX 480 320sol(mod bios)

R9 380 4Gb 240sol(mod  bios)

Thanks claymore!!1
what a good mod bios! Meanwhile my 7990 dont get 600sols...

With the updated hashrate zec is more profitable than pascal(whattomine)..with tahiti it seems almost 20% improve

claymore 11.1    320    320   320

claymore  12.0    360    360    180

Why ?
same problem here...but with 7990...

My rig show only GPU0 and GPU1 temp and fan, i have 2x 7990, under win 10, already tried all from catalyst 15.12 to 17.1(used ddu), tried all sort of config command(-asm 0, -tt 75,75,75,75 -wd 0).
I'm worried because i used the command -ttli and -tstop to protect the rig, but that seems to affect only gpu0 and gpu1, already see gpu2 and gpu3 get to 100 celsius....
Already tried miner 10.0,11.0 and 11.1
Any tips?

An update, i got a third 7990, and now, the program shows all fan speed and temps...go figure...

Use afterburner and undervolt the cards to 1,09V (1090mV) and you will see a big temperature drop. Wink
indeed!

it seems to be something windows related...under ubuntu 14.04 works great...

7990 auto shutdown @ 104°C anyway but if your card is getting that hot you need to rise it out of the case.

If you are already using risers then you should apply new thermal paste because I have MSI 7990 mining stable @ 69°C

Much simpler to solve the cooling issue than your question.
