1  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Fund your Ripple account -- XRPs for 0.25 BTC on: July 14, 2013, 04:24:02 AM
I'm back! I now have new offers up on BitMit.

https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/45715-102-000-ripples-xrp-best-price
https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/45711-65-500-ripples-xrp-best-price-possible

Rates are around 6,500 XRP to the BTC but change from time to time and I adjust my auctions as necessary.

Chuck did say PM sent 10 minutes after it was posted but in the fast paced world of bitcoins and ripples that might as well be Tent years!
You're right. If I had noticed that, I wouldn't have bothered. If he was legitimate, Chuck would have already gotten the deal. If not, well, obviously I wouldn't want it. I'm not sure why I didn't notice.

In any event, tyler26 returned the Bitcoin and I am going to remove the scam accusation. (If you guys who quoted me making the accusation could please either delete or modify it in your quotes, I'd appreciate that. The Bitcoin was returned. I have not been scammed.)

Sorry for the confusion. Yeah, I'm selling XRP and Chuck is buying. Someone else mentioned in the thread that they were selling XRP and I didn't see any public response from Chuck. So I offered in PM to buy it. I then just wanted to warn people in case it was a scam so they wouldn't get multiple people trying to accept the same offer. Apparently, Chuck was already talking to him in PM, which I had no idea.

I wasn't trying to thread jack.

May I ask how you all are valuing XRP? How can any of you be confident of what is a "good deal" at this stage of the currency's development? Only a fraction of the available XRP are on the market now. What will happen when millions or billions more are given away for free?

I'm asking purely out of curiosity. I am new to the world of bitcoin etc.
The point of the giveaways it to gain users. Unless those giveaways are done very badly, they should incrase demand at least as much as they increase suplpy. Opencoin controls the giveawys. Opencoin wants the price of XRP to be high. You can connect the dots.

how abour 2btc for 10,000 ripples?

That's the right price ^

Peoples are selling 30k XRP for 6 BTC on bitmit.net
I'll run a special, 30K XRP for 5 BTC.
https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/30971-selling-30-000-ripples-xrp
First four people to claim it, get it.

These are not auctions. These are sales. Please pay promptly and I will do the same with the XRP. Positive feedback is appreciated and will be returned.

I've been selling on BitMit for around 7,000 XRP to the BTC. My inventory is low right now, but I'll have new offers up within an hour or so.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling XRP for BTC on: May 02, 2013, 09:58:22 PM
I am. You can find my offers on BitMit or you can PM me. Let me know how many XRP you want or how many Bitcoins you are willing to pay. The market is very dynamic now, so I can offer you a better rate if you can promise me a fast transaction.

When will the price of BTC go up again.
Boy do I wish I knew that! I moved lots of my XRP into BTC when BTC dropped to 100 expecting it to go back up -- and then XRP goes up!
12  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Fund your Ripple account -- XRPs for 0.25 BTC on: April 16, 2013, 11:52:08 AM
Now 5 successful trades. Thanks everyone. (Please feel free to post vouches.)
13  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Fund your Ripple account -- XRPs for 0.25 BTC on: April 16, 2013, 08:16:20 AM
so exactly how much XRP does .25 btc buy??
It depends where you shop. Right now, I've seen prices ranging from 1,900 XRP to about 4,800 XRP. The market is kind of unstable. If you asked me right this second, I'd offer 3,000 XRP for 0.25 BTC.
14  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Fund your Ripple account -- XRPs for 0.25 BTC on: April 15, 2013, 02:08:36 PM
Wow, rates have changed and it's basically no longer possible to fund your Ripple account for 0.1 BTC. The price of BTC has fallen and the price of XRP has gone up.

I changed the thread title. Sorry.

15  Economy / Goods / Re: Buying Ripple XRP: $15 USD for 29,800 XRP on: April 13, 2013, 12:25:24 PM
The retail XRP->USD rate is around one dollar per 400 XRP. You're asking for 2,000. I'm not surprised you're not getting any takers.

Yet history shows that private currencies always end in tears; if central banks sometimes abuse the trust we place in them, the alternatives are worse.

Hahaha! bitcoin is a private currency. I love these fellow imbecile reporters  Grin

You can't trust individuals, so trust governments! Gotta dig upi the quote from these forums that went something like, "Every major government to back a currency has reneged."

Any fans of Rand's philosophy here?
I only like Rand as a person. What a sexy, sexy woman.
19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGOX so let me get this straight.... on: April 12, 2013, 03:01:02 AM
My conspricay theory, based on no facts or special knowledge but sheer speculation is this -- gox wasn't holding as many bitcoins as they should have been and were worried that they would have to buy bitcoins at $200+ each to fund withdrawls. (maybe they were planning to buy them when the rally ended but it never did and they got in dfeeper and deeper) So they staged a problem, crashed the price, bought up all the bitcoins they needed, and then resumed business as usual. They hope hte volatility will actually bring more speculators, becuase the more the market moves, the more opportunities for things like day trading there are, and nohitng makes gox more money than people who trade a lot.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Slate: - Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme on: April 12, 2013, 02:58:24 AM
It assumes Bitcoin, the system not the currency, cant create any realeconomic value. If you assume that then bitcoin is a ponzi scheme.
