1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BitInstant. Should change name to BitNEVER. Can't create account. RAGE on: July 05, 2013, 03:11:04 PM
Ive been using Bitinstant for over a year now and have mostly satisfied with them. However since launching the new site I am totally unable
to use their services. I don't understand this, since I (and people like me) make very frequent transactions. They must be losing serious $.

The problem is this: I attempted to create an account ~3 weeks ago. Never got confirmation emails. Contacted support and they *eventually* let me know that they had the incorrect email address for me (one character wrong. likely my fault, but it happens, right?). They informed me that they could not change my email to the correct one. I've since tried to create a new account using different information and I get a message that the account exists or that my identity can not be confirmed. I've tried changing every variable (different email, different address, etc) but nothing works. This is maddening. The bottom line seems to be that I can not do business with Bitinstant.

I started using another service which is more convenient but also more expensive. I'd really like to use BI again but this stuff with the account is insane. Any advice or response from Bitinstant is appreciated.
 Huh

Can I ask what service you are using now? I need to turn some cash into coins

What would this do to the bitcoin exchange BTC and wallets in Tokyo ?  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Just wondering !

North Korea reportedly warns Japan it would target Tokyo first

North Korea reportedly warned Japan that Tokyo would be the first target if Pyongyang decides to play its nuclear card.
The warning reportedly is in response to Tokyo's standing orders to destroy any missile heading toward Japan, according to Korean Central News Agency. Japan has deployed PAC-3 missile interceptor units around Tokyo to protect its capital and is taking North Korea’s rhetoric seriously.

To hazzard a guess they probably have a lot of redundancy built into their systems as well as an off-site(maybe even out of country) disaster recovery site

so I made a bitinstant to bitcoin address moneygram a bit over 3 hrs ago.  I recieved confirmation from zipzap that their end has completed.  have heard nothing from bitinstant.  how long should this take?  how long should I wait until being concerned?

A long time.......   Read the past posts.

just meant how long should i wait until notifying bitinstant and requesting help.

Start reporting now.  If it didn't go through by now then you have a problem.

Did you see if it is in the blockchain at blockchain.info?

Some of you need to take a chill pill and/or grow up. I had my issue resolved. I did it in the following way:

1: I never used threats, foul language, or otherwise taunt the person who is providing the help
2: I kept my posts to a minimum as to let URSAY do his job
3: I was patient. Some issues are more complex than others, it makes sense to get some of the easier issues taken care of so a representative can take more time on the more complex issues
4: Realize Bitcoins are an emerging currency, there are going to be problems.
5: Realize URSAY is a human like the rest of us and if you noticed, he was on one of the support lists.

If you were to act the way you are in a retail store you would be asked to leave the premisis. I am suprised URSAY hasn't asked the mods to reign in some of you crazy kids. Yes, $x00 is a lot of money to most. But most people are starting to get resolutions so please calm down. My issue was resolved in the early hours of the morning and since then I have already made another deposit through bitinstant and it has gone through without a hitch.

Man there's almost 1200 unconfirmed items waiting to be confirmed in the blockchain, my transaction is one of them. How long does that normally take?
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: April 12, 2013, 07:14:37 PM
Still nothing. Although I did receive an email from Bitinstant saying the order was executed, nothing was actually sent so I don't even know what the email means.

I'm assuming this is to a bitcoin address here? but I believe they release BTC in batches every now and then throughout the day. It took a couple hours for me to be able to see mine on the blockchain and it is currently in the process of being verified

URSAY,

I am waiting on a cash>moneygram>zipzap>BTC wallet transaction. I received BI's support email saying the transaction was executed but there is nothing currently in the blockchain. do you know the turnaround time for that kind of transaction? How long, in your opinion, should I wait before submitting an official support request.

Just a quick update for you guys, I finally have the BTC I paid for, and it seems to be at the market rate I purchased them at(which sucks, but at least I have the money I paid.) just be patient and it will happen

Good to hear that you got your coins.  I apologize for your experience and I hope you will still consider us in the future.   Smiley

If you look a few posts down, I already made another deposit ;P it seems to be going through I am just waiting for it to appear in my wallet. I want to thank you again for your work, URSAY, despite how it looks, things will get better. Patience is key even when it comes to money.

Morning everyone!

I made a cash deposit to GOX this morning thru BitInstant.  It went thru perfectly.  The system is working great.

Now let's solve some back logged issues!!!

 Cool

Me too Charlie, ZipZapp'ed a payment at around 10:30 AM EST this morning to BTC address but no trace of anything on BitInstant. Sad Did I just miss the "working great" cutoff? (just kidding, just kidding Smiley )

Here's the info, I'm sure you're sick of looking at these lines:

Thanks for anything you can do Charlie!

I took a look at your order ID(not BI support) but yours is in the status mine is in. I think if the merchant they process BTC through is MtGOX it can take a while as they release theirs to the blockchain in batches, if i remember correctly)

Ursay,

I made another deposit after the last one finally went into my wallet. It hasn't gotten there yet, but not going to start a ticket until around 7pm eastern. It seems things are starting to get resolved, albeit slowly, and for that we thank you.

Good luck today.

update on that, i just received the support email saying my order was executed so things are looking good. will know for sure when it hits my wallet but highly optimistic that cash>zipzap>BI>BTC seems to be working normally

URSAY,

Just a final update before I start heading to bed for the night. SO far no BTC in my wallet.  I have found an alternate funding sources so I can get some BTC for the meantime but I'm not going to use the service again until my issue is resolved. The pushes you did to my order didn't do anything I'm afraid. I applaud your candor and the way you handle the.....more unsavory members of this forum. If you could just provide an update to my issue if you can, I am ready to cash out as I feel there aren't any reputable sources of quick BTC anymore, looks like 2-3 day waits now anywhere you go. I will still be on here every day till my issue has been taken care of. I have also been talking with Roger Ver and he even asked for my resume, so we'll see how that goes. but in the meantime I have business that I am relying on BTC for and I can't wait around much longer. Thanks for your efforts again

Is there someone here that purchased bitcoins from Bitinstant on April/9 and still didn't received the bitcoins?
My transaction was for cash>money gram>zipzap>bitinstant>bitcoin wallet. This was on 4/7 so far no coins and no transactions on the block chain. URSAY Is working on it though. Try not to give him a hard time he is swamped

URSAY

Keep your chin up man, i know your job right now is crazy busy. I do appreciate your manual pushes but it looks like they have not been successful. The address I had my coins going to still has no transactions according to blockchain.info. I think it is time to put the next step into action.

best wishes to you and hope all this gets straightened out soon.

URSAY,

I have made a order through blockchain.info 4 days ago and don't received any quote ID or order ID. Could you help with this?

My ZipZap acct # is 929681716

Resent your order thru manually.  You may see some results soon.  Thanks!  Cheesy

URSAY, is there any chance you could try to push mine? I'm on the 4/9 list

Just resent manually.  Also tried this yesterday.  You issue may have to be resolved in another way but we will continue working to find out.  Cheesy

Hey URSAY just an update, I don't see any activity on blockchain.info on the bitcoin address that I requested the funds sent to. at this point I will take a MtGOX code, dwolla transfer whatever. Thanks for the manual push though. Thanks
