1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: September 14, 2025, 10:36:30 AM
Heroic prolonged the series against BetBoom Team. And it seems that they are outdrafted for the third map.

If they survive and win this last game against BetBoom, they'll be the first SA team to reach this 3rd-4th placing on The International.

I don't like the pick that they did as enigma support when there are so many disables on BetBoom's side. Maybe they were about to pick enigma as an offlane but have to do an alternative so they transitioned it to a support.

Just pulse checking if anyone is betting or watching the current valorant champions.

It seems like PRX might be a great contender for the finals since the new introduction of Patmen into the team I think they have a big fighting chance into the finals?

I wanted to know your thoughts on how would the brackets would be for the next few days?

What teams are you looking forward to see in the final stage?
Haven't been keeping up with what was going on in Valorant and with all the tournaments suddenly going on in CS2 and Dota2 after the summer break, it hasn't been in the spotlight for Esports lately.
But since you mention it, will be looking at the latest championship matches.
Thanks for bringing this genre of Esports back to the thread!

You're welcome! Also, Valorant doesn’t really get much spotlight, especially with CS2 Major and TI going on right now. Plus, a lot of games are kind of getting overshadowed by all the drama with CS’s skin market manipulation.

3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you gamble? on: September 13, 2025, 01:24:56 PM
This is simple but it's very important to know why we are gambling. Many people takes gambling as a place to make additional money while gambling, while some people pretends to have said it's a place to catch cruise or ease stress whenever are they are bored.

Usually, almost 98.9 percent of people gambling to make money and even though they all pretended to say that they're gambling to ease stress or seeing it as an entertainment purposes only I would say they are really deceiving themselves because everyone are trying their luck but, the most important thing over there is that one must gamble with what they can afford to lose that is why many people are saying that they took it as an entertainment purposes.

I honestly gamble for fun most of the time, yet sometimes i get carried away and start to gamble for my losses, but at the end of the day, whenever I'm down, I try my best to go out as much as possible to relive the pain and forget that I've gambled way too much, also, I kept most of my funds now into time deposits and recently, I only gamble what I'm able to lose.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you try to learn first? on: September 12, 2025, 04:10:54 PM
If someone who is not that knowledgeable about sports and gambling but wants to do sports betting, what would you recommend for him to start learning first? Do you advise him to go and watch sport matches and learn how it goes first or go to online casinos and learn about sports betting? Will he someone with sports knowledge be more profitable in sports betting or will someone with gambling experience come out on top?

Honestly, just by watching matches lesrn the patterns study the statistics and probability within the games, learn if the odds are mistakenly placed (a jackpot) as sometimes bookies suddenly makes mistakes on the high chance winning teams.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not winning anything with free spins on: September 11, 2025, 01:18:56 PM
I don't know if this has happened to you much, but I usually play slots from time to time and when I get free spins I usually win something, sometimes more, sometimes less, but I always win. Today I got two rounds of 10 free spins playing Wild Bounty Showdown, and in the first one I didn't win anything, while in the second one I won about $0.34 (playing $0.20 spins). I felt a bit silly, because getting free spins is cool, it's usually exciting, and I've won some good big wins a few times.

Has anything similar happened to you?

If you’re talking about buying “free spins,” it really just comes down to luck. personally, I’ve actually won something decent before from spending around $20–$40 on FS. reaching almost into a maxwyn

But if you mean the actual free bonus spins from the provider, it’s still the same luck factor. The only catch is that they usually come with wagering requirements, which can sometimes feel almost impossible to clear, lol.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 Tyson vs Mayweather 2026 Boxing on: September 11, 2025, 08:48:30 AM
I doubt this fight would be even considered as a REAL fight, remember the thing they did between Tyson and Paul? everything feels staged. Nothing was even real at that point, not being biased since I lost all of my bet but if you can check on the replays, Tyson had to retract his punches from when Paul messed up.

Anyhow, this is just a big cash grab for both of them.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your perspective on the increasing number of casinos? on: September 10, 2025, 06:40:01 AM
Almost every now and then, there is a new casino that is setup, each week, it is like there is a new casino where gamblers could gamble. I am aware that the competition in the industry is good, but more casinos mean more publicity for gambling, and more publicity for gambling means more gamblers definitely, and if there are more gamblers, we will have a higher chance of people who will turn up with a gambling problem or challenge. This is a thought I had earlier, I may be wrong, what do you think? What do you consider is the effects of the many options and variety of casinos to gamble on, do you think that it has somehow promoted and made addiction easy? do you feel that gamblers would have been less addicted if we have fewer casinos?

Highly doubt that new casinos would mean more customers, I'm a occasional gambler myself and usually, having more platforms means more promos, and competition for the providers just to retain their active player bases.

Also, in my own opinion, I think most of the "new" casinos are just the big guys branding themselves as new ones.
8  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Blockchain Bill on: September 10, 2025, 06:34:54 AM

9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Engineers, DPWH Bulacan officials blew 300m each in casinos? on: September 10, 2025, 06:18:10 AM
Question is, how can gov officials gamble that big when their salary won’t even cover a fraction of it? Corruption? Loans? What do you think?

source : https://www.philstar.com/headlines/2025/09/02/2469907/dpwh-engineers-blew-over-p300-million-casinos-says-lacson

As mentioned on your post, I think it's already clear that the main source of their funds is via corruption I doubt that any local government official can or might blow off most of their funds in a casino for nothing, plus all government officials are banned from even entering a casino as far as I can remember.

Reference: Under Memorandum Circular No. 06, government officials and employees in the Philippines are legally banned from entering physical casinos
10  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Blockchain Bill on: September 09, 2025, 10:05:55 AM

11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Government banning of casinos are at their own loss. on: September 09, 2025, 09:56:26 AM
Most of the countries actually putting bans on gambling are for religious reasons and that's why it's mostly the middle east region although it's not entirely pin on those areas but I think you get the picture. Other countries are actually utilizing the massive gambling industry which is something that the government are well known for as they always exploit situation to their benefits and one way they achieve this is by taxing the gambling industry which active initiative towards this.

Personally, I think the reason most or some third-world countries try to ban or limit online betting is to avoid the rise of new bettors and underage gambling, since minors and first-time players are especially vulnerable to getting hooked on casinos. And while it’s true that gambling can be regulated, sometimes government officials also use these ‘regulations’ as a way to boost their political image and gain public approval.

Banning gambling might help to reduce the gambling addiction, but how significant is always remain questionable. On other hand, there are always thousand ways to rome. It means gamblers who being addicted will always looking for a site to gambling.

Yes, it's true that players will look for other gambling opportunities, but this only applies to gambling addicts. The rest of the citizens, most of whom are law-abiding, will not violate laws prohibiting gambling and refrain from playing.

Well, curiosity kills the cat, as some may say. I doubt that "the rest of the citizens" you're referring to might not engage in finding another loophole to gamble their money.

Same with substance, it's technically illegal, but someone who's super curious might still find ways to test to try something new in their lives.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were a sports journalist... on: September 09, 2025, 08:42:24 AM
The sports industry does not only consist of athletes and managers. There are also the reporters or journalists. They are the ones who go to watch live sports and report trackside or from the studio. They follow the season and the athletes. They are the ones who build a narrative and share it to the public. It got me thinking whether they do sports betting or not and uses whatever inside information they have. Or do they spread something just to bet something different? If you were a sports journalist, would you enjoy betting on the sports you report on?

I think most of the jobs related to or somehow related to the gambling industry might have a contract that may mention they can't interfere with any gambling activities, or I think they wouldn’t enjoy betting on the games that they're reporting. It could create a conflict of interest, and one may always question whether the reporter is being fair or if their perspective is influenced by money.

Also, for me personally, I highly doubt that I'll gamble my hard-earned money being a sports journalist since it's already a fun job to begin with, and I’d rather focus on creating new articles, for everyone to read on.

Honestly, karamihan naman ng nasa local government ay uneducated sa current trend pag dating sa financial markets, specially sa crypto in general at tingin ko, either may hinanap sila or may kapit sa mga crypto providers dito sa Pinas para makapag turo kung paano mag diversify ng fiat nila to crypto specially maraming P2P traders dito na big time din ata.
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and Greed on: April 27, 2025, 03:22:10 PM
One of my friends who is into crypto trading made a remark. He said, "I am gradually learning how to conquer/manage GREED. Once I make small profit while trading, I will immediately close the trade. I am not interested in making $200 with $10."
It is funny but he learned this the hard way. As a trader and even generally in life, the lesson that you refuse to learn from the mistakes of others, you'll finally learn it from your own experience.
My question to you is that, as a trader, what ways from your experience have you learnt to conquer or manage GREED?
One of the obvious reasons for traders fail is they struggle to let go, I myself included. To conquer greed, you need to be contented with enough. That being said, you need to know your risk appetite and gain satisfaction. You can use others method for your reference to learn and to make your own trading plan.

AFAIK 10 sims under our name ang pwede.
