That growth can't go on forever.
Important words there. I'm still struggling to understand why so many people denies the idea that we are in the third big bitcoin bubble. Every single time it went parabolic in the past, it went downhill pretty hard after. I understand each bubble has their context and this one is particularly bullish thanks to world wide media attention, but it will probably end. However maybe we are only halfway through and it might rise up to 4k or 5k, nobody knows
2  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-07] Bitcoin Is At An All-Time High, But Is It About To Self-Destruct? on: June 07, 2017, 06:16:16 PM
I can feel like it's going to collapse soon, I wish I could be wrong , but too many whales are now millionaire, they are going to cash out. Your toughts ?

When we study Market Types in the books of Economics first type which comes into consideration is 'Perfect Competition Market'. Under this market situation, there are numerous buyers/sellers such that single buyer/seller is not in power to influence price and price is determined by forces of market. Bitcoin is based on this assumption.
But while we continue reading book, we came to know that 'Perfect Market Competition' not actually occurs in any real world industry. So no matters what theory says, Bitcoin prices can easily manipulated by some smart traders, big holders or maybe by some hidden cartels, who knows

7  Other / Off-topic / 100 years ago... and the future. on: May 30, 2017, 05:30:32 PM

This gives some insight of how things are evolving at an incredible rate, some will says even exponentially. Given all the progress that has been done we can easily conclude that currencies will also innevitabely also change over time , Bitcoin being a real kickstarter of it.

The roadmap isn't clear yet, but chances are we are going toward digitally and tech driven currencies ( decentralized or not , I can't say ) We can't see the future, but if you think things of today won't change, you should reconsider your point of view.

Feel free to use this thread to give your insights on how currencies might be in 100 years from now.

I bet my Bitcoins he will never finish his mandate. His senility is already catching up , that's a matter of time.

@ BADecker

I hope I'm not off topic, but here are my two cents :

Over the ages, Gods of all sorts always been an excuse for things humans didn't understood (yet) Ra was rising the sun, Thor the lighting , etc.. etc..
Since then, everytime we learned more about our physical world, those went from gods to mythology. I takes time for sure to people abandon their faith, but History is nothing but proof that a lot of religions had their particular era. Major modern religions are not different , they are just living mythologies, followed by people who rectracted in the last and tiny bubble of unknown about our reality.

When our late descendants will study our era they will mock us and find us primitive.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump is better than Obama? on: May 26, 2017, 12:47:39 PM
Wow , I'm european but hell , the Trump fanboys are real overhere.  This is scary to think I somehow take advices on Bitcoin from you guys.

I'm not saying Obama was the best president, but you need to face it, Trump is a complete clown, not to mention his intelligence is clearly challenged.
I've read here that " at least he is not a puppet from elites" LOL  Just look at his tax breaks for the 0.1%, his healthcare plan, etc... I'm sorry but some of you are delusional.

in the early days on mt gox there was one guy who was putting up walls of thousands of coins, the chart was a vertical line into infinity. some other guy came along, bought it all and he was never heard from again.

Isn't that the story of the Bearwhale ? I've heard about that.
13  Economy / Economics / What power does Traders have on the Bitcoin price ? on: May 26, 2017, 11:43:00 AM
Hi here !

So, the captitalization of BTC reached 40B $ , this is nice but not huge at all compared to FIAT currencies.

My question is : with such a "low" amount of money, does the traders have real power over the Bitcoin price ? I always heared about the natural inflation, simply more demand etc... But don't you think that if a lot of early investors with huge amount of BTC could gather and have control over its price ? Or they are simply slave of the system like every one of us ?

I'm waiting for your toughts  Grin
14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe in god? on: May 26, 2017, 04:08:55 AM
I nor said yes or no. It's more complicated.

To make it short I think this is absolutely stupid to believe in the biblical god while we live in an era with full access to information and knowledge. This is unforgivable to still have faith in those tales.

HOWEVER, I'm highly spiritual and deeply think that first the Universe, and then Life, didn't came to existence by pure coincidence. Some sort of higher power ? maybe. Jesus ,allah  and so on ? Definitly not.
15  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Evolution is a hoax on: May 26, 2017, 04:00:04 AM
If even creationists are getting involved with Bitcoins, this is a good sign of the growing interest of crypto currencies. When even dumb people are using BTC, it means everyone can (and will) do it.

My prediction is we will see dump after dump after dump until we reach around 700-900 levels.

17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc Price on: May 25, 2017, 10:56:38 PM
Really short therm :  correction is happening , little drop.
Short therm : Going up to 3000-5000$
Later  : Rising up to 10k then a lot of people are probably going to cash out so again little drop.
Long therm : Stabilization around 15k for low expectations , 50k for High

Dont take my words as pure truth , I'm not nostradamus.
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you buy Bitcoins using Paypal? on: May 25, 2017, 10:03:29 PM

There's a very old method to buy btc via paypal but it has high fees and I think the minimum amount you must buy is 0.01 or 0.02 btc. Virwox offers btc for paypal exchange with SLL. Not many use it though due to high fees and rates. Depositing $50 you might walk away with $40 of btc.

I can comfirm, I had my first bits of BTC that way.   Good to test and play with few € but definitely not for big amount.

20  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're reaching $3,000 soon! on: May 25, 2017, 04:16:46 PM
50k is only a factor of 25X, and we already saw such a growth in the past, so why not.

But I need to say , i'm not an expert of any sort.
