1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v14.7 (Windows/Linux) on: June 25, 2019, 07:32:02 PM
What could be the reason for this message?

"opencl error -4 cannot write buffer DAG" after that miner freezes and I have to restart the rig.

I have virtual memory set to 20+ gigs on 8 GPU rig

use virtual file 8gpu x gpu ram size, for example 8x 4 = 32gb if u have 4gb cards. if you have 8gb, then 64gb cards and u are safe for future dag size+ some miners are option to use double size.

I had around 32 gigs actually, and now increased it to 38gigs. I no longer get the error message, however the miner crashes after a minute of mining, and nothing is written in the log file. I am mining with the default clock values and 14.7 miner
It just crashed with one GPU mining and 42 gigs. Any troubleshooting tips?

What could be the issue of only ONE rx470 in rig of 8 mining at 11ish mh/s, while the others do stable 27? This was not the case before

Guys, I've been away from the "hobby" for a while, since I had my rigs running fine, but some problems are popping up, and I was wondering what is the best driver and afterburner for rx480 and rx470 nitro+ mining edition?

Anyone to share a 470 mining edition (Saphire) 4gb samsung Bios and settings?

Thanks
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Looking for Polarios Bios Editor v1.6.2 on: June 04, 2018, 08:53:06 PM
Since jaschaknack's Github profile has been deactivated

https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor

I am unable to access his GitHub page, and download PBE. Thus, I am hoping that some has version 1.6.2 or 1.6.7 downloaded and is willing to share it with the community.

Thanks!

Am I the only one having trouble accessing jaschaknack's github page?

Does anyone have a copy of the 1.6.2 PBE, and is willing to upload it?

Thanks!

The AMD blockchain driver was a patch released to fix the Ethash Dag file growth issue that caused Polaris cards to lose hash rate with every new epoch once the Dag file reached over 2GB. Starting with the Crimson Relive compute drivers that were released for Windows 10 v1703, AMD incorporated the fix from the blockchain driver in to the mainstream release drivers when the cards are set to compute mode.

The correct driver to use for Windows 10 v1703 Fall Creator update and newer versions is the latest AMD Adrenaline driver and set the cards to compute mode.

Thanks so much! One of the most informative answers I've ever received on the web Cheesy

One more questions, what build for win10 would you recommend?

Guys what drivers should I use for 480 cards? I am currently running the blockchain ones. Any difference with the newer one?

I've just build my second rig using 8x RX 470 (Samsung) and stock hashrate was like 21Mhs. After using the paid polaris 2.2 (thank you Mattthev) the hashrate increase slightly like 1-2Mhs. Then I adjust clocks (Core 1050 / Mem 1900) and I am getting 27.1Mhs.

If i try to adjust the memory higher like 1950+ the system will crash and restart miner many times, it's not stable. If i adjust mem to like 2000+ I get invalid shares.

Are you still achieving 30+ Mhs on the RX 470 (Samsung) cards?
I downloaded original bios, loaded into the paid Polaris Bios Editor 2.2, patched for power saving OC and applied... saved and loaded the mod bios.

Did I miss something?
Is it mining card? Samsung type ending FE or FC? Write me to my e-mail. You need the other Uber-mix not the 3.1.1. Also don't forget use the latest Adrenaline drivers and switch to compute workload.

Are the adrenaline drivers the best ones atm? I am running the blockchain ones. Should I switch?

Also, what i compute workload?

Thanks!

Try the following:

-Right click and run the application through "run as administrator" option.

-Disable the Windows Defender for some time and see if the miner works when it's disabled.

EDIT: it seems like it's a common issue if you Google it (and it's not just with the miner), you may find possible solutions here as well:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware-winpc/windows-10-application-has-been-blocked-from/641352ce-59f9-416e-9c0a-9b8787b9ed56

I think you should first try what I suggested (as most probably, running as an administrator should work out fine), if that doesn't work, then look at the solutions provided by Microsoft support.

Running it as admin, made the minier crash for some reason, and yeah I checked the same link before...

Anyways, I was tired of searching for the solution, so reinstalled windows, and all seems fine at the moment. Hopefully, I found a way to disable windows updates too

Have you overclocked the cards? Even if you did not oc them, check your psu cables for damage (melted). Run the cards in default settings, you may also try down clocking them.

The card were running at the default settings, its this stupid windows that doesnt work. And yes, I fount out that someone had a problem with melted sata cables. Fortunately, not the case with me. I am reinstalling windows at the moment, and will see

I am having trouble running Claymore 11.7 on my windows 10 computer after the latest update. Firstly, although I have done everything I can to prevents windows from updating, it is still not enough, so if anyone has found a solution, please let me know.

The solution is to dump windows and go with a real mining OS.

I recommend PiMP - getpimp.org

It is the most versatile linux mining OS I have found and has a great support staff available most of the day on IRC/discord for any and all issues.

My pimp rigs have 100 day uptimes without even having to check on them.

Dont know if you are just advertising or not. Anyways, yes, I plan to switch to SMOS or some other alternative in the near future.

Next, I tried removing the driver with DDU and removing the AMD folder, but it still wont mine. The rig and all the settings are fine, since it was mining fine yesterday.

Does anyone have an idea what I can do, to remove that restriction.

Thanks!

Has anyone connected to supernova with username and password? I am struggling to mine ZEC/ZCL there.

If anyone can paste a template, I'd be really grateful.

Thanks!

Thumbs up to poisonxa for the built and the awesome "customer support" Tongue. Much more customization OS than the original nvOC. All the issues I had with nvOC are gone with this built.

Code:
Warning: persistence mode is disabled on this device. This settings will go back to default as soon as driver unloads (e.g. last application like nvidia-smi or cuda application terminates). Run with [--help | -h] switch to get more information on how to enable persistence mode.

I am getting this message and cannot start mining. v0019. Should I enable persistence mode, or what?

Just so that someone does not get lost like me Smiley

The config.json file that needs to be edited is located in the /bin folder.
