How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?

I think the biggest cause of Bitcoin death is government. When Bitcoin is involved in many illegal activities, the government will not let it work anymore. Besides, the simpler cause is that the Bitcoin organization stops providing and exploiting Bitcoin.
All the above causes are hypotheses. I believe that Bitcoin is not so easy to die
I don't think the governments can make Bitcoin die. In the first moment, Bitcoin was made to work without any dependence so that without any government's permision, Bitcoin will still alive.
maybe the governments can ban or monitor you, aply Penalties and fines if you use btc

Wow, 50 BTC now costs more than USD $ 130K , Who will donate $130K just to become VIP member here? In many developing countries thats more than lifetime earning (Working full time for 20 years). I understand the rule was written when 1 BTC ~ USD $ 100 but the rule is still same now?

Manually applied by administration after 50 BTC donation, and gets 5 gold coins under his name
of which the last is half purple. 5 coins are shown regardless of post count when user is a VIP.
here on Brazil 1 btc today can buy food per 7 or 8 months

I think it would only really die if the internet did not exist anymore, that's all.

Ethereum is already a tough competitor for bitcoin and a lot of people now are planning and thinking to migrate from ethereum to bitcoin because of the growth of ethereum that is showing some strength and potential in the long term investment just what like happen in bitcoin and i think ethereum will be the next bitcoin based on the market capitalization and also the features of it.

Very easy, only need the law prohibits people from using Bitcoin, ban all transactions on the internet, ban all mining Bitcoin ... if that will happen, Bitcoin only have one way is die Grin. But I not hope that is true, because it is the end of the world for me Cry

The law could not prohibit, i think thats ist not possible btc die because legality

I did not get you there, are you saying that the governments will not prohibit it and it is impossible that BTC will die because it is legal?
If that is what you are trying to say, my friend you are wrong, the government are not the ones handling BTC, in fact no one is thus decentralized and there are already countries that have banned BTC because of legalities.
That's what I meant, it's not going to be a law that will prohibit being used

Maybe my opinion is a bit weird, but maybe just ...
Bitcoin die, when there is no internet network in this world..

Would be another case, for another post, but I think it would be difficult to do something like this.

Another crypto overtaking its market cap
like? ETH?

Eth will not. If somehow Bitcoin will be replaced by another coin then it would be far much nice and have a similar things to offer but more. I still think that there are no coins who have that kind of potential and Bitcoin still has a long long way to run.
Ltc has a great potential...

Bitcoin dies? That can happen. When there is another kind of bitcoin that is better in value, less expensive, the amount of bitcoin users will decrease, which is of course because people are always looking for profit.
i think that legality would never kill BITCOIN
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: June 16, 2017, 02:59:06 PM
I think the only way that Bitcoin will go die, is when the TOTAL BREAKDOWN happen, and what I mean about this is not just the internet, but every electronically powered devices or machines, all the power lines are cut down and no power at all, world wide. This is what will kill Bitcoin. I know this is a little off topic but you get the idea right?

I agree with you maybe in an emergency maybe bitcoin will die, such as absence of internet connection and  dissolution of all power grid due to the terrible factor of natural disaster or because of war.
Because i think as long as things are still running normally then bitcoin will not die, if there is still a stable connection or power grid.

That would be very extreme, a lot of shit would have to be happening to get to that point.

If everyone stops using it or if in some way becomes wothless, these are the two situations I think of that could make bitcoin die. But I don't know what could cause something like this, people get used to bitcoin and all benefits that it gives and demand is geting biger all the time.
Yeah you are correct. If everyone stop using the bitcoin it will cause a bad situation to the bitcoin but it can't be happen. Because bitcoin is now getting more popular than before.
but if in one day bitcoin stop to be use, do u will going to throw your coins away?
I mean, do you sell ur coins even they They are worth nothing more? like 1 cent? or Or would you keep them?
