$229,000,000 4-year deal agreed to by De’Aaron Fox with the San Antonio Spurs. Another crazy deal to a player who has never won anything. He’s a great player, but I don’t even think he’s an all star. Making over $50,000,000 per year as an NBA player when most people in the country have no idea who you are is crazy…
Yeah they definitely overpaid on this one. I don't understand why they would give him such a deal. Sure they don't want him to leave for nothing but I doubt other teams would have been willing to pay this much as well, very strange. While of course Fox is a more than just solid player, as you say he is not even all star material, won nothing and overall isn't even close to being a franchise player (that would warrant such a payday). NBA these days.... I disagree with your statement. Last year, Fox averaged 23.5 points. He also has a very good assist average of 6.3. He's a great contributor to his team and a true team player. I think San Antonio made the smartest decision by signing him. Fox was one of the team's most important players. It's important to remember that the number of All-Stars is very small, and not every player will make it there. That's just numbers though, he wasn't able to carry the Spurs and then got injured if my memory serves me right. Even if he is healthy, it's very hard for him to carry the team in a very tough Western conference. So it's really a big gamble for the Spurs to paid him that well. Although I would agree that as time passes by, due to inflation players are going to be very expensive. And as we compare, he is outside of the best point guard in the NBA right now. That's why others are thinking that he didn't deserved this huge contract.

I reckon that it might be the failing of weight cuts that has discouraged the big promoters from entering negotiations with him. Failure on these weight cuts implies that the boxer does not have discipline. Also, his attitude and arrogance did not win the promoters' hearts. I am not quite certain if this is true, however, John Riel might not be a person similar to Pacman. John Riel might be this very annoying person who you not want in your life.
Yeah, I do agree that those two are factors why not a big promotional company is willing to take him in. Not making weight, not just once but many times in his career really shows that he doesn't have the discipline of a boxer. Maybe before he is making weight, but perhaps it really take him a lot to cut specially around 118 lbs. Not just discipline, but maybe he surrounds himself with wrong personality as well that didn't help him at all. And then his attitude, he is boastful, I would agree that he likes to be in social media and wanted to gain attention. But at least back it up when you are winning and becoming professional boxer. Pacman is different, discipline wise and he is not that arrogant as compare to John Riel.

@OP, what is the difference between gambling fever and gambling addiction? From your post, I don't see any difference or any unique difference of things that have been discussed here before as a causes of addiction and how to prevent it. Both are too similar, if not the same.
Indeed. When I read the title, I was like, Gambling fever? Then I read the post and thought, Huh? That’s gambling addiction, it’s the same thing. I thought it was something new or different. Everything OP mentioned is what gambling addiction really is. If you have a gambling addiction, you're already dealing with all the things OP listed. So, for me, it's just a different term used by OP. In the end, it all comes down to a lack of discipline in gambling. Everything mentioned leads to or caused gambling addiction. Same here, I thought that I might have misread the title, with gambling "fever", and the first thing that came to me mind is that maybe it describe when gamblers have a high body temperature due to gambling. But in any case, he cleared that up and as what most of us says, it's just the semantics. And what he lay down here is the sign that someone is really addicted to gambling already. And that is why as much as we give a lot of advice, most of the time we will fall for it. Just chasing losses, and as humans we really don't want to lose and so we come back and try to get back the money that we lost. However, it's not that easy as casinos have the house edge.

August 1st Deadlines, being the date which President Donald Trump will mark the continuation of the tariff, and he made a statement on Wednesday 30th July, 2025, that there will be no extension on the deadline. The tariff war had a great effect on the price of Bitcoin and the entire market before, will this be same thing? So far with all the news, Bitcoin has made a drop to around $116k, are we to expect more decline in price or we will be just fine?
The sudden decline has caused a negative impacts in the Bitcoin market and i see all of the president threats on tariff war as nub cause Bitcoin won't necessarily be influenced by that but along the line changes will still occur that will reflect on either a decline or an upward trend. So it won't be the same thing hopefully and we will just be fine with the outcome after afterwards. Yes, I thought that there will be no effect, but then again, the market at the start of this month tend to go down hard because of this news. It's true though that Bitcoin market is not going to be influence by this news, so the effect will not be long term. Although maybe some of us might not take it well as we have been in the $120k'ish before this sudden drop of price. So let's see how long the market will react or when we are going to bounce back after this tariff news has settled down.

Perhaps the social media today is built differently, it has created momentum for fake flex and different kind of dramas that goes on within the people, I’m not form your region to know how true one can actually be making fortune out of gambling but I know that for sure guys show off wealth on social media to get paid and act like successful people in the business and use the clout they get from such fake flex to advertise different casinos or companies, I know of a young boy who shows off wealth as a forex trader but behind the scenes it’s all for the sake of advertises for different companies. So it could be the same with this dude.
They are promoting, so this person is likely sponsored by the casino and this money could be fake as well. But I like the thoughts of many gamblers here, they already know what is behind this fake flex in public and then coming about losing big money and everything, it's all for the publicity. So for me, this is nothing new, and actually this is not going to be the last one, regardless of where we are. We've heard from African countries to Asian countries. And we should really understand and learn how to read between the lines to not get caught on all the hype of gambling influencers.

Yeah, that's the sad part of Filipino boxers, we have a lot of them after their career was over, become poor or even went to jail. And by the way Casimero goes, flaunting his money, once that dry down, he might end the same fate with some of the best boxers we have. But I don't think that MP is willing to help him, he has too much ego but hopefully his new Japanese promoter can get him a good fight and make him a world champion again.
It’s just sad that these things happened to Quadro Alas, but on the other hand, this might be a wake-up call for MP Promotions to give their fighters what they truly deserve. I heard Casimero say in his vlog that MP Promotions gave him a very small amount. And he said that for two fights under MP Promotions, he could earn the same amount with just one fight under a different promoter. I'm not sure if Casimero was telling the truth, but maybe he is—since he seems to be quite generous these days. Well we really don't know who is telling the truth, maybe Casimero is or maybe MP is telling John Riel that is should not be about the money. Specially right now that he doesn't have a belt, then it's hard to promote Casimero and obviously he will be the B-side unless he is fighting a not well known boxer just like in his last couple of fight. I don't care if he is generous, but later on, if he doesn't earn enough money then it's going to be very hard for him to maintain that kind of lifestyle. Or giving to everyone, all his friends and family. It's not that bad to help, but you will also have to think of yourself and the future that you are no longer making money from the sports of boxer.

I'm a bit worried now that the contract’s already signed, he might go back to his old form, slower and not as sharp on defense. Hopefully, that won’t be the case because with the Lakers having a new owner, they’re probably aiming to experience a championship run again, especially since the last one was during the pandemic. and for LeBron, it would be great if he could retire after winning another title. That’s why I’m feeling positive about the team next season, especially now that they’ve got a solid big man in Ayton.
The Lakers already have a fairly strong roster on paper, but I think they should strengthen their bench. By the way, I recently saw a report that Lakers management isn’t particularly eager to part ways with LeBron. On the contrary, they would actually welcome him retiring as a Laker. I think they have a solid bench as well, they still have Vando, Dalton Knecht and I think Maxi Kleber will be healthy this season. They also added Marcus Smart so he could also be good in rotation specially that his asset is to play defense. It's really hard to see what path Lebron wanted to. Obviously, another ring with this cast, but let's see as you have said they really looks strong in paper. But the most important thing is that if they can translate it in court. JJ should also be in the microscope as we really don't know if he is a good fit for the Lakers as head coach or the Lakers will continue to replace their coach if things went sour. Correct, they have a very solid young and talented bench players this season and now they have a good starters too. I’m just concerned on the performance of Ayton because his presence will give a significant boost on Lakers defense on the paint if he will perform properly. I’m not putting much chip on Marcus Smart since he is not that good tbh and a liability on crucial times. Overall, Lakers roster is very solid now that Luka is already physically fit while they already have decent center and still maintain their solid bench. Thanks, they also have Gabe Vincent, who I think can also give them quality minutes. He had some few games with the Lakers and he is hitting good outside shot. Maybe he is not that consistent, but I think he got a lot of experienced under his belt and could really help the Lakers this season. And as you have said, a much better Luka in terms of his physical might boost the whole team as they see him grinding it hard pre season and keeping himself fit as that is one of the criticism he got from fans. I'm putting Smart like a good defender for the Lakers, not much of a scorer. But needed in crucial minutes to get a stop.

I think it can due to high demand increasing everyday, but in the other hand topics like WW3 and supercomputer, or just lack of interest can maybe take the price down. I don't personally see it how it can go to 0 in 1 day like some people fear, I beleive in it's security but what are some threats even if they are theory that could take it down, how would the gonverment attack it?
You just have to look at Bitcoin's history, that's what they said before, that it won't take off and most of the early investors have sold. So from $1 to $100k++. So logic says that maybe in the next couple of halvings, we might see $500k and then the eventual $1 million. I don't think that WW3 or even quantum computing will be threat. If ever the latter will be, then the developers will have to be one step of the game again and move to the next algo so that we will be safe. And if you look at the total numbers of circulation, we are almost got it, I mean 99% could be mine in the next years and so it will make it more scarce and demand going up, pushing to the $1 million.

I agree that bitcoin's price volatility doesn't prevent investors from accumulating - but they will only do so at the right time and price based on indicators they believe in. Experienced investors who are long-term holders will continue to accumulate - even when people are greedy, they may still accumulate and may be more aggressive if market panic is ongoing.
We're currently see a Bitcoin price crash - this is a good time for accumulation and accumulators will be aggressively doing so. Many investors are panic selling, as are day traders—while accumulators will acquire more Bitcoin at a low price.
It's a price crash for those who have bought bitcoin at 118k with expectation that they will sell shortly after price reaches 150k. Bitcoin takes price correction from time to time and this is also part of that cycle. Bitcoin price is deemed to go up but on longer duration, for short term it's price fluctuate. The price is going down right now and I can't say where it will settle before going up again but I have firm believe that it will eventually go up sooner or later. Accumulate as much Bitcoin as you can when price is going down because by doing so you book your future profit . I wouldn't call it a shorting though, maybe at $130k will be the price to short if they bought $118k. But in any case, it's not that wise to sell at $130k when we can see that the price might really took off and go to $150k. You just have to wait for a few more months and not think about making a quick profit. But if you have notice, there are a lot of smart investors as time goes by. Maybe they are buying now at $113k and accumulating. And then the just continue to do that and HODL and again, wait for the price in the last quarter of the year or the time that we are going to hit the peak of the price of this bull run.

I think it's pretty obvious that gambling is one of the first use case for Bitcoin. At the start, we only need a Bitcoin address to deposit and withdraw and that's it. And then a lot of casino operators started to put up their business and even up to know, we have a lot of crypto base casinos.
Which means that the market is really booming, we don't know that numbers but due to the pandemic we can also say that online gambling is really giving land base and brick and mortar casinos a proverbial "run for their money".

But I guess their is still the consequences for this two individuals as they have disappeared and stay quiet.
The major consequences that I can think of is that the casino where that happened will banned the players for life. Aside that nothing else. As for the casino where it happened, some heads will roll particularly those who were in charge of the checking the slot machine for any glitch but failed to note this. In addition, more tighter measures for their players. It's more on the provider itself, I was once a QA and so it's a failure for them to not able to run this kind of testing and simulate every possible combination. Or maybe the developer as well as the code was flawed in the beginning. And as a result of this, tighter measures for the casino. Maybe they will have to review everything after a couple of times that a certain slot machine is giving up money just like that. In the end, the two as you have said might have been banned for life in every casino in the US.

It is not a new thing that anyone can make wrong analysis and publish on the internet to catch attention, even when their prediction it doesn't matter just feel for people that will feel misleaded. How can the author of the article say that xrp will be like Bitcoin or the next Bitcoin, he is only over exaggerating XRP if you ask me, how come they never know that Bitcoin is decentralized and kind of untouchable while xrp is centralized? They didn't even compare it with the other valuable altcoins such as Sol or ETH and they ran too far to Bitcoin.
That's why we should really know how to read between the lines. As there are fake news, deep fakes and AI technology today. So this is being weaponized by many entities, so it make sense to really verify everything before you go and believed that what you read is true. So for us who have been in this market for so long, we already knew that what the author said is very wrong. There is no comparison whatsoever, XRP is very centralized and it has been labeled before as a banker's crypto. Nevertheless, it's good that we have this kind of alternative coins as they have their own use case that is totally different from Bitcoin.

I have someone who says from the tune of it, he is selling some kind of roulette system to me. Like teaching me on how to beat the system but when I ask him if he actually win using this strategy, he can't answer straight.
And the best story "turning 500 PHP to 100,000 PHP" in one night of baccarat session, but there are no proof whatsoever.
Some of them flexing it for marketing purposes so many people would be encourage to play and use their referral to earn from themselves, and some of them really do win but you didn't actually know how much they lost first or even if they managed to get back from those losses at all. There's no such thing as roulette system, dice system strategy code, etc. those are pure bs. First thing, why they would they sell it to others if they can earn or earning already from it? The more people that has that system the more it would be compromise or find by the provider or creator of the game (for instance, bug or cheats that was found by that seller). In gambling turning 500 PHP to 100k PHP is not impossible and doable but the chance is low of course. It's not impossible, but what the OP is asking is that if someone it telling you this stories, are there proof that he had done this? As for the influencers, I do agree, that's part of their job to flex their money and their wealth. But we have heard similar stories that the car that they show is just rented or even the house that they supposedly own. So we know the drill in this case. Most fake flex are somewhat comical, like the system in roulette. I have seen a lot of them throughout the years and yeah, there are no perfect system. How about a gambler flexing his winning this month like he is up $5000, but never mentions how much he lost the other month. He could have lost $10000 or even higher. So him flexing his win doesn't negate all his previous losses.

Are you required to selfie whenever you open the casino? it would refrain people to gamble on that casino and help the government to reduce minors. That's a good improvement for local casino, but the drawback people would just choose to gamble on online casino. Which mean it doesn't solve the issue, but they make people from one to another.
I think this is one reason I think the government is doing it, just imagine you wanted to play and every time you do it in your mobile, you will have to go to this kind of selfie. So if you are a person who is short of temper, then you might get mad at this kind of practice and who knows, maybe you will stop or at least lessen your gambling time because of this. However, if it will drive gamblers, then they might have to find other legal casinos in your country that will not go to the selfie mode. Worst, they might go on and search for illegal games or at not registered on the Philippine government and play there with convenience.

Best of luck on Jonathan Kuminga, it was reported that he declined the Warriors offer of two-year, $45 million. It seems that he is really betting on himself as of right now. We all know that he wasn't given enough playing time by Kerr specially in the playoffs.
He was able to play only when Steph got injured, but they can't really go and move onto the next round. So let's see, there are teams that are willing to take Kuminga and make him a starter like the Kings.
I just think that the Golden State Warriors just dont want to sign him, they just want to give him an offer that they know he will not accept, if they really want kuminga to be in their roster, this issue with signing is already over, Kerr don't want to make Jonathan to grow, most of the other players before were given a playing time even with Steph injure or not, but kuminga were the other way around, they dont like kuminga thats for sure. I disagree, they wanted to sign him, but Kuminga doesn't want they offer to him. He didn't get that much time because he was not that healthy I believed last season. It was like on and off to him. And so when playoff comes, Steve Kerr has made some adjustment as his first five is based on what opponents they have. But I think Kuminga's mind is already set that he wants out of the Warriors and he is looking for at least $30 million a year contract. It is rumored that the Kings is really interested of him and was promised a starting five position. But not sure if that can be done as they have Lavine and DeRozan who fits the same role as Kuminga.

If they have been put into court and got into trial and dismissed, it means that they're clear. They have no problem with that but the negligence of the casino is the reason why it happened. Usually, this is what will happen when a casino can't accept defeat and they thought that they've been cheated out by their players. But if the player has been cheated by them, online or physical one, it will be an easy verdict and the balance that they have won't be distributed anymore. Plus they get a ban and removable of access to them.
It's obvious that since this is the first case in history, casino don't know how to respond but they thought that their case is air tight and so they go after this individuals. But they are all wrong as the defense attorney was really that good. And so it was a defeat for the casino but they don't want to admit that they have the fault. Or at least the operator who had their program flawed and that this individuals was able to exploit it. And it's good that in the video itself, the narrator says that their could be other flaws that is not yet discovered and who knows maybe in the future we might hear another of this news but this time, the culprit might go into jail.

If this has not been brought up here, I will do it. In the Philippines, this news is what everyone is talking about. Several gamblers were abducted and have been missing since. It has been only revealed that those missing gamblers were really killed after they were caught cheating in cockfighting. A whistleblower says there were more than 100 that were killed. The prime suspect is Atong Ang, a businessman and a major player in the gambling industry. His team denies all accusations and says to be filing a case against the one accusing the businessman. It has even been said that some corrupt police men were involved in the abduction and killing of gamblers. Anyway, whoever is behind all this should be punished and I hope the victims get the justice they deserve. I do not condone cheating in gambling but is killing really the way? Let us pray for the victims. Woah. Now that's the craziest gambling story I've heard in a long time! The chickens have that much of effect on people its crazy. Must have been super high stakes and they lost a lot, but 100 lives are gone now as a result of this cheating. Whoever was in charge of this was definitely an evil group of people. They definitely wanted to insure this never happens again and make an example of this. Its truly sad news. I really think this issue already has politics involved, especially in the Philippines, where justice is really poor and slow. With so many people involved in this case, I am really not expecting real justice will happen here. This will just become a story in gambling history and a tragic event, which, if these victims really did something bad that involved gambling, will become a story. Some people are saying that victims deserved it because some of them are involved in cheating or manipulating/fixing games, but for me, they must not suffer like this. Maybe they are guilty of cheating, however, I don't think that the consequences for them is death. And it's like the drug cartels in Mexico, wherein one mistake, and you will be hang publicly. So it's a dangerous world that online cockfighting in the Philippines is. And as you have said, if politics is involved, then justice might be delayed for this individuals and it's very unfortunate that their families will continue to suffer and the prime suspect is a big time personality in the Philippines and he could really bought everyone. So I believed that this case is going to drag for many years and I don't know if there will be justice.

Here is another example on why we really need to be quiet in our social media and not tell about our crypto investment as we might be the next target. In this case, streamer and content creator Kaitlyn 'Amouranth' Siragusa has been the target by this criminals as they force her to reveal where in the stash of his crypto. It's good thing that she has the presence of mind to bring the criminals to his husband who is waiting for a ambush as he was able to hit one of the assailant and husband and wife escape and the criminals was caught later.

people differs from what they says over here about gambling for fun. Of course there are people who says they gamble for fun while right dip inside them they are actually trying to scale up their few cents if it would have an increase above what they had already. Like I does, I do not gamble often neither do I have to think of making additional income from gambling, when I gambles I have two things in mind; first using small amounts to gamble, secondly winning might come so what next is to just have the fun on my preferred game and when the amount is exhausted then I exit.
They can expect to increases their money from gambling but they should realize that it will not be easy. They need to risk their money before they can win more money. But they can lose all the money without taking too long so they need to know how much money they should use. I also gamble but I don't chase the win and only have fun. Using small amounts of money is okay because I also use that amount to gamble. What we must be concerned is not using too much money because if we do that, we can lose big. We don't want to lose more money just to have fun because that can make our tension high and cause us to lose control. It's good, like you said, that you don't chase wins and that gambling is just fun for you. When i gamble, i have periods when i want to play smart and with low stakes, but there are also times when i spend a lot of money and end up winning nothing. Of course, it's money i was prepared to lose, and there are also days when i know i'm taking a risk. The key to everything is to be patient and play smart, because that's when there's no stress and you stay in control That is the very definition of gambling and it's effect on us. Sometimes we play for fun and just for the heck of it. So we play with the money that we can afford to lose and so with that, there is no feeling of chasing that loses because we already allotted that money. But there will be times that we wanted to scratch that itch and we really don't know why that happen to us. I mean our decisions are clouded and we can't control ourselves until all our money have been emptied. For others that might be a good lessons to learn. but for most of us, it's very hard to have that self discipline.
